Scott Adams predicted Trump's win back when he was one of more than a dozen Republican contenders. Scott Adams explains how liberals sat in a thought bubble and their classic case of cognitive dissonance now on display today.

David Wong October 12, 2016 I'm going to explain the Donald Trump phenomenon in three movies. And then some text. There's this universal shorthand that epic adventure movies use to tell the good guys from the bad. The good guys are simple folk from the countryside ... Lionsgate Films ... while the bad guys are decadent assholes who live in the city and wear stupid clothes: Lionsgate Films In Star Wars, Luke is a farm boy ... LucasFilm ... while the bad guys live in a shiny space station: LucasFilm In Braveheart, the main character (Dennis Braveheart) is a simple...

Submitted by Doug Casey viaInternationalMan.com The Trump victory is very good news for the US - relative to a win for Hillary, which would have been an unmitigated disaster. So I’m happy he won. Will Trump winning mean a real change in direction for the US? Unlikely. Don’t mistake Trump for a libertarian. He has all kinds of stupid notions—torture as official policy, killing families of accused terrorists, and putting on import duties. He has no grasp of economics. He’s an authoritarian. His cabinet choices, so far, are all neocons and Deep State hangers-on. He’s likely to treat the US...

"...Wang has been the intrepid election data explorer furthest out this election cycle, never once wavering from his certainty of a Clinton win. The only real uncertainty left on Tuesday, he said, is how many people show up to vote. But even that doesn’t change the presidential election outcome... So when the smoke clears on Tuesday; when enough non-white and female voters haven’t been harassed or intimidated enough to stay home; when Clinton crosses the finish line with something close to 300 Electoral College votes and a popular vote victory somewhere between two and five percentage points; and Nate Silver...

Tyler DurdenNovember 12, 2016 After weeks/months of the Hillary campaign bashing Trump for "irresponsibly" questioning the legitimacy of the election process, Clinton-insider, Sid Blumenthal, is apparently making the media rounds in Europe attributing her loss to a "coup d'etat" organized by "a cabal of right-wing agents of the FBI in the New York office attached to Rudy Giuliani." “It was the result of a cabal of right-wing agents of the FBI in the New York office attached to Rudy Giuliani, who was a member of Trump’s campaign.” “I think it’s not unfair to call it a coup. Yeah, a coup...

In light of Veterans Day, let us honor those who have not only served in our military, but in the 114th Congress. There are currently 101 members - 18.7 percent of Congress - who have served, or are serving, in the military. More specifically, there are 81 veterans in the House of Representatives, and 20 veterans in the Senate. According to the Congressional Research Service, these Congressional members have served in the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kosovo, as well as during times of peace. Current members of the House of Representatives who have served,...

On Thursday, Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, held a conference call with devastated staffers that put the rosiest possible frame on a calamitous picture. The message to the dozens of mostly young, sleep-deprived and shell-shocked aides: We did everything we could have. We wouldn't have changed a thing. You should still be proud. Inside the Democratic National Committee headquarters, which sits half a mile south of the U.S. Capitol, eyes rolled and heads shook in frustration and disbelief. Clinton's loss at the hands of Donald Trump amounted to the most surprising outcome in the history of modern electoral politics....

Tuscaloosa City Schools received a number of complaints after a high school math teacher projected an image of Donald Trump firing President Barack Obama in his classroom on Wednesday, the school system confirmed. "We were made aware of it last night after school hours," City Schools spokeswoman Lesley Bruinton said. Northridge High School math teacher Scott Johnson used a projector to display the image of Donald Trump onto the white board in his classroom. Under Trump's face are the words: "Obama, You're Fired."

In many ways, California is the antithesis of Donald Trump’s America. While Trump rode a wave of anti-establishment, working-class white votes to the White House, California’s relatively diverse electorate, with well-established elites in Hollywood and Silicon Valley, roundly rejected him while passing liberal-favored ballot measures, including legalized recreational marijuana and a ban on plastic bags. The presidency, House of Representatives and U.S. Senate are under Republican control. But in California, Democrats hold all statewide offices and majorities in the state’s congressional delegation and the state Legislature.Trump takes a hard line on immigration, vowed to repeal Obamacare and has dismissed climate...

full title........'I want to move to Spain': Chelsea Handler breaks down in tears while discussing Hillary Clinton's loss on her talk show ............A devastated Chelsea Handler broke down crying on her Netflix talk show on Wednesday night while discussing Hillary Clinton's staggering loss to Donald Trump. The comedian, who has been an incredibly vocal hater of Trump for the entire Presidential race, was reduced to tears as she explained how she planned to leave the country after the billionaire businessman was voted in. WASHINGTON – Election eve 2016 began without any real sign of a gathering storm. No hint a popular revolt was brewing. In fact, just the opposite. The networks were reporting the mood in the inner circle of the Republican candidate was subdued, somber, tense, even foreboding – as if fearing the worst. President-elect Donald Trump (Photo: Twitter) President-elect Donald Trump (Photo: Twitter) In direct contrast, the mood in the camp of the Democratic Party presidential candidate was described as confident, expectant and already almost celebratory. Giddy. When the first polls closed on the East Coast and the first results began...

"One of the greatest days of my life," a white offensive lineman from the AFC told B/R. "Easily one of the worst days of my life," said a black offensive lineman, also from the AFC. "It's like my dog died. Worse." The reaction from NFL players to me in the wake of Donald Trump's election as the nation's 45th president was swift and long-lasting. It carried through election night, into the next morning, and throughout Wednesday. Over two dozen players expressed themselves in numerous complex thoughts, simple outbursts and heated arguments with me. The general feeling among the six white...

NEW YORK — Yes, Hillary, this revolution is real. Tens of millions of voters cast ballots Tuesday for Hillary Clinton. Except for a relative handful of wealthy and connected people, nobody actually wanted to vote for her. She is the most corrupt, compromised, dishonest, self-dealing, delusional and unlikeable candidate perhaps to ever run for president. I used to wonder why President Obama would want to hand his legacy over to such fake and felonious monster. Then I realized that he doesn’t really care about anything but himself and for as long as she is around, people will miss him. Anyway,...

Time to talk about politics and religion. American Jews apparently voted for Obama in record numbers both times. Did they think out of the box, or is their death wish for Israel real?

Tyler Durden November 9, 2016 "The world's "intellectual yet idiot" class just took another blow to the chin, but who really got buried? Nassim 'black swan' Taleb explains..." "Simply put, as Taleb recently explained via Medium.com, The "Intellectual Yet Idiot" class..." What we have been seeing worldwide, from India to the UK to the US, is the rebellion against the inner circle of no-skin-in-the-game policymaking “clerks” and journalists-insiders, that class of paternalistic semi-intellectual experts with some Ivy league, Oxford-Cambridge, or similar label-driven education who are telling the rest of us 1) what to do, 2) what to eat, 3) how...

In this collection of potential reading, Mark Yon suggests books that you may appreciate whilst considering your vote. It may have escaped your attention that during this week there are elections in the US. Whilst we do not endorse any particular candidate or party at SFFWorld (and the person mainly writing this is non-US anyway!) but on behalf of SFFWorld we thought we would compile a list of ten SF books that use politics as an important part of their world. Be warned – not all of these are future visions you may like…
