  • Tactics From the Progressive Playbook: Race-Baiting

Unless you’ve been sticking your head in the sand, or had a busy summer of spending American tax dollars with Obama on the golf course, you’re probably aware of all the race baiting going down in Ferguson, Missouri. Several weeks ago, a black man named Michael Brown was shot and killed by a white police officer, in the economically depressed community outside of St. Louis, creating a perfect recipe for race riots, looting, and liberal race baiting geared toward keeping Americans divided. America’s favorite race hustler, the Rev. Al Sharpton shot over to Ferguson before Brown’s body went cold, sensing...

Today is the birthday of a man who left an indelible imprint on American history and the history of the free world more broadly. The Englishman John Locke was born on August 29, 1632. Locke was one of the most heralded Enlightenment thinkers — preeminent among classical liberals — developing theories on natural rights, property, government, not to mention law and philosophy more broadly that would influence the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and Western civilization itself. His intellectual achievements were so great that Thomas Jefferson identified Locke as one of “the three greatest men who ever lived, without any...

Suspect in five crimes In Georgia, on Sunday, 24 August, a criminal attempted to rob the Shell Food Mart at about 4 a.m.  It did not turn out as expected.   The clerk pulled out his own gun and chased the robber from the store.   The suspect (perhaps accidentally) fired his gun as he ran off.  From wjcl.com: Surveillance video shows the suspect approach the counter, pull out a hand gun, and start waving it around. Patel then reaches under the counter and pulls out his own gun. The suspect ran and Patel is seen on video chasing him out...

BREAKING: Mike Brown Allegedly Involved in Second Degree Murder Case as Minor By Reagan Wilson on August 29, 2014 Charles C Johnson, a freelance journalist who has been covering the Mississippi Senator race better than anyone in the mainstream media, Daily Caller contributor, TheBlaze contributor, National Review contributor, author of “Why Coolidge Matters”, and the guy who did the research to debunk Everytown for Gun Safety’s school shooting map, seems to have information that Michael Brown, who was shot and killed by law enforcement in Ferguson, Missouri earlier this month, may have been involved in a murder case as a...

The hunt for James Foley’s killer: On Sunday, the British ambassador to the United States said Britain was close to identifying Foley’s killer. A number of possible identities have been suggested by British media although sources on both sides of the Atlantic have told Reuters that there was little likelihood of the British government naming the suspect imminently. On Thursday, the Washington Post reported that Foley and at least 3 other captives are known to have been waterboarded: At least four hostages held in Syria by the Islamic State, including an American journalist who was recently executed by the group, were waterboarded in the early...

Immediately after the Civil War caused the collapse of the plantation system southern Democrats, who had been slave masters, formed the Klu Klux Klan to force their former Black slaves back onto their plantations. By the end of the first one hundred years of their efforts the KKK was well on its way to success. Democrats were fully in charge of the federal government and could do whatever they wished with their new “slaves.” Today, the Democrats’ efforts to push Blacks back onto their plantations has reached its maximum level of success and what makes the arrangement even better for...

The PLO (founded in 1964) and Hamas (founded in 1987) both seek to unravel the decisions made at San Remo in 1920 The cease fire agreement ending hostilities in the Fifty Day War between Israel and Hamas marks yet another milestone attesting to the failure of Jews and Arabs to peacefully resolve their claims to sovereignty and self-determination in the territory once called “Palestine”. Amazingly - the continuing inability of the parties - and the international community—to reach consensus on identifying when this long running conflict actually commenced—ensures it will continue to remain unresolved. Emeritus Professor Richard Falk—formerly United Nations...

We still don’t have all the facts about happened in Ferguson, but we can already draw one big lesson Clearly, something tragic happened during the confrontation on the street that day that left a young man dead and a community in chaos. Certainly, our hearts go out to the family and we can all hope that the investigation into what happened will be swift, thorough and fair to all parties. Liberalism’s drive for state control Already, of course, the shooting of Michael Brown has sparked a much bigger debate on a range of topics, from the state of civil rights...

Vladimir Putin's expansionist urges Yesterday, Ukrainian President Petro O. Poroshenko declared that Russia had invaded his nation. Col. Andriy Lysenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian military, confirmed that two armored columns of Russian forces, replete with tanks and armored fighting vehicles, captured the town of Novoazovsk on the Sea of Azov near the Russian border. Ukrainian troops were forced to retreat in the face of superior fighting power that included Grad missiles launched from Russian territory. “Our border servicemen and guardsmen retreated as they did not have heavy equipment,” Lysenko said in a statement. NATO released a series of satellite images...

Meanwhile, has anyone noticed how the sound of the chirping crickets has suddenly changed to the snorting of pigs at the trough? With Barack Obama now firmly in place as their ex officio leader, the United Nations pooh-bahs have come up with a surefire way to stick it to the taxpayers of the world, while feathering their nests for all time. It’s called making global warming/climate change a health issue at their very next summit in November 2015. Christiana Figueres, the top UN climate official, said upcoming negotiations on an international global warming accord should be viewed as a health...

Generally speaking, as a matter of principal, anything that Nancy Pelosi is for, I oppose. You really can't go wrong following that mantra. However, this might come under the "even a broken clock is right twice a day" exception. Pelosi yesterday joined several other House Democrats asking that Speaker Boehner allow a debate and vote on whether Congress should give Obama authority to expand airstrikes and military action against ISIS. So, for conservatives..what's the downside here? Why not let the Democrats tear themselves apart before the election?

With the Russian invasion of Eastern Ukraine -just like Sarah Palin (and I) warned you about over five years ago- Vladimir Putin and his tight, sinister inner circle have betrayed themselves for what they really are- a (rogue) state within a state. More specifically, the Putin regime is a criminal organization that enjoys the protection of the state in which it resides...  Obsessively consumed by self interests and corrupt by nature, they can't stop what they have started... these are men who lie even when the truth would do them far better service. Alas, one major defeat, step-down, or admission of error...

On Mark Levin’s Thursday radio show, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) discussed the potential of President Barack Obama granting amnesty to 5 to 6 million illegal aliens by executive fiat. Sessions argued it would be an abuse of power by the White House and said it was intention to act legislatively against it. The junior Alabama senator was also asked by host Mark Levin about sanctuary cities and states, and particular the state of California in which the state’s Democratic governor, Jerry Brown, hosted Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and touted his state’s refusal to adhere to current federal immigration law....

In case you missed it, GreetingsFromYonkers posted an insightful comment late Wednesday night on the limitations of Twitter in a semi-illiterate age: “Gosh, wholly apart from whether we do or don't know what we do or don't know, I have an even more basic issue with Twitter. It's the 140-character limit. Frankly, most people are not literate enough to work around this roadblock, which calls for exceptionally high vocabulary and syntax skills. Thus tweets end up being an incomprehensible mélange of clichéd abbreviations, or extremely superficial.Let's all close our eyes and imagine what Twitter would be like in the hands of...

As I’ve said a number of times before, I’m not a big fan of Rick Perry, especially for president. Yes, there are worse RINOs out there, but while Perry has done some things right, he’s sometimes betrayed conservative principles in ways that have just left me shaking my head. Richard Viguerie at Conservative HQ reports Perry isn’t helping conservatives believe in him with his hirings of two enemies of conservatives for his campaign: Henry Barbour and Steve Schmidt. This week conservatives got the message loud and clear that Texas Governor Rick Perry is not one of us. He joined the...

Not only are there attempts at character assassination of the officer but the character assassination of the complete police department of Ferguson has ensued. Michael Brown steals a fistful of cigars from a convenience store. The surveillance video shows him shoving a man who attempts to block the door. As the man backs away, Mr Brown turns and walks in a threatening manner towards the shopkeeper. Michael Brown is 6’4” and 300 pounds. Any physical altercation between the robber and merchant is a mismatch of force. The actions of Michael Brown are deemed a “strong-arm robbery with the use of...

There’s a reason why Barack Hussein Obama doesn’t have a comprehensive and competent strategy against ISIS. Just like Benghazi, he’s more concerned about upsetting Muslim sentiment in the world – those who could careless about our survival – than protecting humanity from the murderous clutches of Islam. If a president’s first instinct isn’t to protect American lives, to stop women and children from being butchered in the name of a bloodthirsty cult, then he’s exactly what his critics portray him to be: an anti-American, Muslim-sympathizing radical. If the King of Capitulation spent as much time constructing a stern policy against...

[Note: this  is a work in progress. I'm basically seeking comment as I develop a November predictive model. Please give your feedback... -Sam]I’ve been asked why the PEC Senate poll snapshot is more favorable to Democrats than forecasts you’ll find elsewhere: NYT’s The Upshot, Washington Post’s The Monkey Cage, ESPN’s FiveThirtyEight, and Daily Kos. All of these organizations show a higher probability of a Republican takeover than today’s PEC snapshot, which favors the Democrats with a 70% probability.Today I will show that in most cases, added assumptions (i.e. special sauce) have led the media organizations to different win probabilities –...
