Federal police are again patrolling the streets of Portland. But this time, they're also Portland cops. Last week, U.S. Marshal for Oregon Russ Burger deputized about 50 Portland police officers as deputy U.S. marshals. A Keaʻau woman was arrested and facing charges after refusing to wear a face mask at the post office. Hawai‘i Police Department first came into contact with Sandra Smart, 59, at the Keaʻau Post Office and advised to put on a mask to cover her face and mouth which she refused to do. The Louisville Metro Police Department swore in its second interim chief Thursday since protests erupted months ago in the city over the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor during a botched drug raid. Deonte Lee Murray, the man accused in the ambush shooting of two Los Angeles County deputies in Compton earlier this month, has been charged with attempted murder, prosecutors announced Wednesday. Murray, 36, was taken into custody after a lengthy standoff three days after the deputies were shot, though his arrest was unrelated to the attack on the deputies, Sheriff Alex Villanueva initially said. DELTA, Pa. — A York County woman is facing multiple charges, including resisting arrest, stemming from a domestic incident Sunday night in Peach Bottom Township, according to State Police. Christina Marie Surette, 48, allegedly told troopers who showed up at her home to arrest her that she was unable to walk outside due to her weight and injuries sustained in a previous car accident.
