The NYPD has intensified its boycott of the coffee and baked goods chain Dunkin’ Donuts after an employee reportedly refused service to police officers, The New York Post has reported. Danielle Outlaw, a 19-year veteran of the Oakland Police Department who started as a police explorer when she was in high school, will serve as Portland's next chief, only the third outsider named to lead the Police Bureau. Missouri police on Monday were hunting for a man who shot and killed a Clinton cop late Sunday night during a traffic stop. The officer, 37-year-old Gary Michael, died after a man exited a Dodge Nitro at a traffic stop and started shooting. Michael returned fire, but the gunman got back in his car and drove off – crashing his car just a couple blocks away before fleeing on foot, KSHB reported. It was not known if the shooter was injured during the incident. Police named Ian McCarthy, 39, as a "person of interest" in the shooting.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell has been lobbying the Trump administration in an attempt to keep funding that the region stands to lose over its sanctuary city policies. McDonnell has made multiple trips to Washington, D.C. to ask the government not to withhold federal funds, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. A devastated family wants answers after their beloved Catahoula hound dog was shot and killed last month in their front yard by an Ocoee police officer. But a police report released this week sheds little light on what happened. Stevens Bertrand, a school resource officer at Ocoee High, shot the 11-year-old dog named Duke in the head outside Charlie and Lisa Brooks’ home on July 17. “I couldn’t believe something like that happened. HOUSTON, Texas — A Texas district attorney says MS-13 leaders in El Salvador are green-lighting hits by gang members in the U.S. Her comments came in reference to an MS-13 gang member arrested last week in Virginia on warrants relating to the murders of two Houston-area residents.

Police were on a city-wide tactical alert Friday after a power outage at one of the Los Angeles Police Department’s two dispatch centers. The outage was reported about 11:20 a.m. at the LAPD’s downtown dispatch center, according to a department spokesman.
