Imagine for a moment, if you will, Sarah Palin attending an event at Ohio State University. She casually greets college aged supporters, and a group of excited, young students decide to spell out the word “Ohio” using the old YMCA routine. The group is in place, arms readied, fans surrounding them armed with their cameras and cellphones. Then this happens… OIHI. It is inarguable that the media, in all their smugness and ‘we are intellectually superior’ attitude would have ripped her from the California coast to the glaciated plains of … well … Oihi. Oi. Hi. More like oy vey....

Incredible 3D Stereoscopic Civil War Photos Stereoscopic images basically involve taking 2 or more static images, from slightly different angles, to create a 3D effect that tricks the eye into noticing the depth of field, angles and perspective of the image. Thus, it’s possible to take a flat image and create 3D depth to it. When applied to older photographs, it’s an amazing technique, because it brings life to history. Take for example, these Civil War photographs that use a stereoscopic effect!

Apparently, my previous article on the famous "Situation Room" photo tapped a nationwide nerve. The response ranged from some eye-opening tips on other photos to a few perplexed criticisms as to the motivation for Photoshopping a Situation Room photo. The answer to that latter question can be summed up in one simple thought: To hide the truth. Obama was out golfing while the OBL mission was unfolding, and the administration needed the Situation Room photo op for public perception -- to give the illusion that he's presidential. Obama's entire "Composite Presidency" and administration are orchestrated in this fashion. Not only...

Rep. Brad Sherman, in a fierce fight for re-election in his Los Angeles district, got caught photoshopping his mother into some versions of a mailing. A source provided BuzzFeed the extended version of the mom-added mailing, which offers a likely explanation: It was part of a package aimed at Jewish voters

MOST little girls grow up playing with Barbie dolls. Some even want to look like them. One 21-year-old has become one, or so she says. Valeria Lukyanova has become an internet sensation in her home country of Russia, claiming on her blog to be the most famed woman on the Russian-language internet. Her doll-like features, long blonde hair and ‘perfect’ body make her look like a real life Barbie. In fact, with her tiny waist, she bears such a resemblance to the famed plastic doll that cynical web users have been speculating about whether or not she is real. In...

Meanwhile, the Marine Corps has appointed a three-star general to decide what disciplinary action to take against the four Marine snipers. Lt. Gen. Thomas Waldhauser will name another officer to lead an internal Marine Corps investigation. That investigation will be in addition to a criminal probe already under way by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Waldhauser, who is commander of Marine Corps Forces Central Command, will determine how to proceed once both investigations are completed. NCIS Communications Director Maryann Cummings also said her department's probe is still "in its very early stages." "At this point, NCIS has identified and talked...

The photographs of celebrities and models in fashion advertisements and magazines are routinely buffed with a helping of digital polish. The retouching can be slight — colors brightened, a stray hair put in place, a pimple healed. Or it can be drastic — shedding 10 or 20 pounds, adding a few inches in height and erasing all wrinkles and blemishes, done using Adobe’s Photoshop software, the photo retoucher’s magic wand. “Fix one thing, then another and pretty soon you end up with Barbie,” said Hany Farid, a professor of computer science and a digital forensics expert at Dartmouth. And that...

What's wrong with this picture? Can you see it? This is not one of my 'Photoshops', this is one of the most viewed photographs ever on Flickr, and it was posted by the Whitehouse on their official WH Flickr account. A popular Swedish program has uncovered something very funny about it.Notice how small Obama is in the picture? Much smaller than all of those who surround him. All over Sweden they are laughing at it, and how gullible we all were, that up until now, nobody else noticed.Afton Bladet (Sweden) - Original Article (From Today!)

(PhysOrg.com) -- Despite all the advances in digital photography, most people are still plagued by the problem of blurry photos, a problem compounded by the use of cameras embedded in cell phones due to their small size. Problems of blurring generally can be divided into two types. The first is problems with focusing, which can usually be avoided if the camera operator will simply wait for the automatic focusing feature of their camera to do its job. The second type is much more difficult to solve as it involves camera movement while the image is being shot. It’s this second...

As digital photography grows, an analogue company, Lomography, is growing interest in its range of striking and unusual cameras. When a pair of Austrian students found an old Russian camera, the Lomo Kompakt Automat, in the early 1990s, they were surprised and delighted by the unpredictable images it produced. The saturated colours and slightly blurry photos had a distinctive look. The pair travelled to Saint Petersberg in Russia to sign a worldwide distribution deal with the manufacturer. The Lomography movement grew quickly, with users all over the world returning to analogue ways just as digital photography was growing in popularity....
