A tribal leader is threatening protests if the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) begins construction of President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall. During a meeting of Native American tribal leaders, the Tohono O’odham Nation’s Vice Chairman Verlon Jose threatened protests similar to those known as ‘Standing Rock,’ where environmentalists protested the Dakota Access Pipeline, if Trump’s wall is built, according to AZ Central:

New York State Sen. Daniel Squadron, D-Manhattan, has a plan to snare conservatives into coughing up their gun rights. On April 25 California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom used a tweet to call out the NRA and suggests lives being saved by gun control. His tweet came on the same day Breitbart News reported that the NRA had launched what promises to be the first of many lawsuits designed to challenge California gun control laws. The Los Angeles Times reports that the NRA has a “series” of suits planned now that Neil Gorsuch is seated on the Supreme Court. Newsom’s tweet appears to be an attempt to convince the NRA that gun control has already won the day. He wrote:

Texas is spending record amounts on transportation, but lawmakers worried it is not enough are considering extending a controversial program that’s helped spread tollways through some of the state’s largest areas.
