Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama announced Friday they have picked the prestigious agency that represents Bill Clinton, Mia Farrow and others to handle their post-White House speaking gigs. The Harry Walker Agency will represent both Obamas for speaking appearances, said Kevin Lewis, a spokesman for the former president. It's the same firm that recently resumed representing Hillary Clinton for future speeches and handled the speeches she gave for big sums after stepping down as secretary of state in 2013.
  • Fossil fuel divestment crashes and burns in Vermont(DOH!)

The fossil fuel divestment boom has turned into a serious bust. Most recently we saw this at the University of Denver where the administration determined that the future health of their endowment was worth far more than any political points scored through satisfying the demands of some environmentalist students. We’ve seen this in a number of other schools but the trend is continuing in areas outside the academic realm. Even state governments have been forced by activists to take a look at the possibility of divestment. This most recently happened in Vermont where the state pension plan was considering similar...

Kalamazoo, Michigan, Department of Public Safety Chief Jeffrey Hadley will appear with gun control proponent Gabby Giffords Monday to argue against suppressor ownership by “everyday Americans” and to oppose national reciprocity for concealed carry. Hadley is one of 20 law enforcement officers who have agreed to be part of Gabby Giffords’s “Law Enforcement Coalition for Common Sense.” The group will be announced Monday and will talk about “reasonable” gun control on Capitol Hill. Hadley claims national recognition of concealed carry permits will lead to a setting where “there [could] be more people carrying weapons that shouldn’t be.”
  • The Claws Out For Ivanka Trump Show That Liberals 'Love For Women' Is A Total Absolute Sham

Women can be vicious. Just ask men. Better yet, ask other women. If they’re honest, they’ll tell you. Women can be harsh to their own kind, especially liberal women. That’s what makes feminist campaigns like the “Women’s March” a bit of a joke. It’s not about women sticking up for one another. It’s about liberal women advancing their own liberal agenda, and if you’re not on board, you’re attacked, viciously. Just look at how Ivanka Trump is being treated. After she posted an adorable photo with her son, comedian Ilana Glazer of “Broad City” unfurled her claws. Ivanka’s tweet didn’t...

  • Dark Side of Progressivism Exposed: From Eugenics to ‘Race Science’(nazis?)

A new book details the progressive movement’s reliance on eugenics and race science as well as its effort to exclude the disabled, blacks, immigrants, the poor, and women from full participation in American society. The words “progress” and “progressive” evoke images of enlightened reformers selflessly promoting justice and overcoming ignorance and bigotry. I guarantee, however, that anyone who reads Thomas C. Leonard’s new book, “Illiberal Reformers: Race, Eugenics, & American Economics in the Progressive Era,” will be troubled—and, in many cases, shocked—by some of the motivations of the late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century progressives who sought to dismantle the American...

Dr. Wie-Hock “Willie” Soon of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics addressed a gathering of the American Freedom Alliance on Thursday night at the Luxe Hotel, describing the current state of debate about climate change as “spitting science in the face” and “treating science like a piece of rubbish.” Mixing humor and science, he entertained the gathering as he made the case for skepticism about climate change. He began by mocking the degree to which carbon dioxide was treated like a toxic gas by proponents of radical policies on climate change. “Next it will be oxygen, it will be anything that...

For years, the liberal media have given Bill Nye a platform to rant about his liberal views and now Netflix will give him an entire show. Nye, “The Science Guy,” is one of the media’s favorite global warming alarmists. He will star in a new Netflix show called Bill Nye Saves the World which will debut in the Spring of 2017. Variety’s TV Editor Laura Prudom reported that the show will attempt to refute religious leaders and politicians who espouse “anti-scientific claims.” Nye told Variety each episode will take on “complex scientific issues facing us today” such as “vaccinations, genetically...
  • What I Learned From Clerking For Judge Gorsuch

Judge Neil Gorsuch, nominated by President Donald Trump for a seat on the Supreme Court of the United States, is among the top legal thinkers in the country, but you would never know it from talking to him. Judge Gorsuch is a humble man, and his humility informs his textualist approach to the law and makes him uniquely qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice. I know this because I was once his law clerk. One of my favorite parts of clerking for Judge Gorsuch was his afternoon ritual with the clerks. Around 4:00 pm every day, the judge would burst...

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is putting newly confirmed Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Republican senators who approved him on notice. GOP lawmakers on Tuesday night invoked Rule 19, which forbids speaking ill of other senators, to silence Warren as she attempted to read a letter from Coretta Scott King criticizing Sessions. “She was warned. She was given an explanation,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said. “Nevertheless, she persisted.” Less than 24 hours later, Warren fired off a blistering series of tweets noting that Sessions is no longer a senator ― and no longer protected by Rule 19. She also...

We’re on the verge of a new energy revolution. Except it’s the exact opposite of the one the “experts” at places like BP, the International Energy Agency and – ahem – the Guardian are predicting. For years we’ve been assured by politicians, energy industry specialists and green advocates that renewables such as wind and solar are getting more and more cost-competitive while dirty fossil fuels are so discredited and wrong and evil we’ll soon have to leave them in the ground. But to believe this you’d have to believe in a world where Donald Trump and Brexit hadn’t happened; where...

President Trump on Thursday struck back at Sen. Richard Blumenthal a day after the Connecticut Democrat leaked alleged details of a conversation he had with Trump’s Supreme Court pick. Blumenthal on Wednesday told reporters that Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch said previous comments made by Trump about a federal judge were “demoralizing” and “disheartening.” “Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who never fought in Vietnam when he said for years he had (major lie), now misrepresents what Judge Gorsuch told him?” Trump tweeted. ------- The supposed comments from Gorsuch to Blumenthal came in response to Trump’s tweet calling a federal judge a “so-called...

Sen. McCain should not be talking about the success or failure of a mission to the media. Only emboldens the enemy! He's been losing so.......long he doesn't know how to win anymore, just look at the mess our country is in - bogged down in conflict all over the place. Our hero....Ryan died on a winning mission ( according to General Mattis), not a "failure." Time for the U.S. to get smart and start winning again!

A pro-American immigration reform applauded Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions’ confirmation as U.S. Attorney General, saying the “days of turning a blind eye to illegal immigration… are over.” “Sessions is unparalleled in his knowledge of the proper role of the Department of Justice, the legislative process, and the rule of law, all of which will be critical in restoring much-needed accountability and responsibility to the nation’s immigration policies,” said a statement from Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform. “An able Senator and sincere advocate for fairness, Senator Sessions fully understands the dangers posed by the 300 jurisdictions...

In a conversation with Charles Murray, Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol explains his solution to the problems of the white working class: replacement. "Look, to be totally honest, if things are so bad as you say with the white working class, don’t you want to get new Americans in?"   After making the remark, Dr. Kristol joked, "I hope this thing isn’t being videotaped or ever shown anywhere. Whatever tiny, pathetic future I have is going to totally collapse."   The conversation took place February 7, 2017 at an American Enterprise Institute event called "It Came Apart: What's Next...

Which GOP do you belong to? That's a question every Republican has been pondering since Donald Trump commandeered the party and won the White House. There is, first, the old Grand Old Party — the party of Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, John McCain, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and an array of conservative movement activists, think tank staffers, journalists, and lobbyists. This party favors lower taxes (especially on the wealthy), less regulation, and smaller government, except when it comes to military spending, which it aims to increase to maintain America's position of global dominance and role as "leader of the...

Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, raised concerns Tuesday that DeVos may not protect students from being exposed to gun violence. “During the Senate confirmation process, DeVos did not oppose guns in schools, a dangerous gun lobby priority that endangers our children in the very place that should be a safe haven for learning,” Watts said in a statement Tuesday after the Senate confirmed DeVos. “Our kids deserve better than this – and like mothers everywhere, we will stop at nothing to make sure they are safe,” she added. But there is little DeVos...

So two idiots sauntered into a police station jacked up with ammo and weapons to test the open-carry law in Dearborn, Michigan. James Baker had body armor on and a semi-automatic pistol strapped to his hip as he slung a short-barreled rifle over his chest and pulled a black ski mask over his head. His buddy, Brandon Vreeland, a fellow open carry advocate, also had on body armor but left his gun in the car, instead bringing along cameras to videotape the encounter that was about to take place. The two men wanted to file a complaint about being pulled...

Only one-in-seven registered Democrats in America believe that Islam is more violent as a whole than Christianity, according to a new CBS poll.Catastrophes such as September 11th, the War on Terror, and recent attacks throughout the world were not enough to make a difference between Christianity and Islam for some.  ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and the Taliban were also overwritten.Republicans had a much different perspective on the matter however.  Over six-in-ten believe that Islam is more violent in nature than other religions.

Why look for a new theory of gravity if the big bang cosmology is correct? by John G. Hartnett Published: 7 February 2017 (GMT+10) Occasionally we read in the popular press, especially online, that someone has come up with a new theory of gravity. Why is that even necessary if the current theory describing the evolution of the universe is so correct? The standard ΛCDM big bang cosmology is derived from an application of certain non-biblical boundary conditions to the physics of Einstein’s general relativity theory. But when that was applied to the universe as a whole, two problems developed...
