A new poll shows Donald Trump is surging in Philly, with more than 1 in 5 likely voters in the city planning to vote for the GOP presidential nominee. … Police says officers noticed two men apparently smoking marijuana late Saturday in an area of central Philadelphia that’s packed with restaurants, shops and clubs. A female Philadelphia Police Sergeant and a male University of Pennsylvania Officer were shot in West Philadelphia Friday night, according to police. One suspect was also shot and killed. Shots rang out after 11 p.m. near 51st and Sansom streets in West Philadelphia. Police said one suspect was dead. The search continued for possible other suspects. Officers could be seen searching homes in the area. A civilian was also shot. Both officers were taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, listed in stable condition. A Philadelphia man and woman have been charged in a home invasion in Chester that left a 75-year-old man bound at the hands and feet by cords, and his 49-year-old daughter severely beaten and in critical condition. Erinn Howarth, 25, of Germantown - who is possibly the man's housekeeper - and Richard Johnson, 23, of Juniata Park, were arraigned Thursday morning on charges that include robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and conspiracy.
