House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., refused to answer a reporter’s question about when human life begins during a press conference on Thursday. A reporter with CNSNews.com, a website affiliated with the Media Research Center, asked Pelosi, “In reference to funding for Planned Parenthood, is an unborn baby with a human heart and a human liver a human being?”

October 1, 2015 Is An Unborn Baby With a Human Heart a Human Being? Pelosi: ‘I Do Not Intend to Respond’ by Sam Dorman (CNSNews.com) -- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said at her press briefing today that she did not intend to respond to the question of whether an unborn baby with a human heart and a human liver is a human being and that the question has "no basis" in the public policy they do in Congress.CNSNews.com asked Pelosi: “In reference to funding for Planned Parenthood: Is an unborn baby with a human heart and a human liver a...

Democrats are trying to shut down the Benghazi investigative committee two weeks before the panel is scheduled to hear testimony, saying a top House Republican unwittingly exposed the political goals of the long-running probe. Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the California Republican who is the front-runner to be the next House Speaker, said in an interview this week that the committee, formed to probe the 2012 terrorist attack in Libya that killed four Americans, has been worth it because it exposed former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s email practices. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that while the probe should be...

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)9% refused to acknowledge the controversial series of undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood doctors negotiating prices for fetal tissue are real. Pelosi said, “I don’t stipulate that these videos are real. And the fact is — and fact is that the research that is being criticized there is research that has been supported. now. I haven’t seen — I’ve seen some news reports of it, but I also know that it’s not real and you can create any reality that you want.” She continued, “And I think...

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is bashing House Republicans’ plans to create a select committee focused on investigating Planned Parenthood after the release of controversial videos about the group’s handling of fetal tissue. “The Speaker’s resignation has not yet broken Republicans’ fevered obsession with shutting down government at the expense of women’s health,” she said in a statement Saturday, noting Friday’s news that Speaker John Boehner will depart after October. “Make no mistake: House Republicans have renewed their war on women's health… Hard-working families deserve better than a taxpayer-funded Republican Committee fixated on dismantling women’s health.” She noted that one...

WASHINGTON — Hours after House Speaker John Boehner announced that he would be resigning from Congress, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz added fuel to the fire by saying he’d heard “early reports” that Boehner cut a deal with Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to continue funding some of President Barack Obama’s most controversial measures. “I will say, the early reports are discouraging. If it is correct that the speaker, before he resigns, has cut a deal with Nancy Pelosi to fund the Obama administration for the rest of its tenure, to fund Obamacare, to fund executive amnesty, to fund Planned Parenthood, to...

Fellow Conservative, John Boehner’s days are numbered. The bronze and quick-to-cry Speaker of the House has been put on notice. American conservatives aren’t going to take it anymore. This isn’t really news. We’ve known for weeks that a few dozen brave Conservatives were going to try to over throw Boehner. But here’s what we didn’t know last week: Democrats have agreed to save Boehner. That’s right, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have agreed to vote with Boehner not only to save Planned Parenthood’s funding, but also to save John Boehner’s job. You know Boehner’s a RINO when even the Democrats...

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi styles herself as a devout Catholic, and the New York Times happily promotes that myth with a puff piece whose title drives home the editorial point: In Pelosi, Strong Catholic Faith and Abortion Rights Coexist. But it’s Pelosi herself who gives the game away, with a telling quotation: The church has their position, and we have ours, which is that a woman has free will given to her by God. Taken by itself, that sentence is a muddled non sequitur. The Church teaches that women have free will given by God. The topic is abortion,...

Months after Judicial Watch exposed massive security risks with the government’s healthcare.gov website, afederal audit reveals that the public employees responsible for overseeing the disastrous Obamacare site were not properly trained, failed to keep adequate records and stood by as delays mounted to millions over the original contract costs. We’re talking an astounding $600 million in contracts to build the website for the president’s signature healthcare law. The government employees tasked with supervising the colossal project actually helped private contractors fleece American taxpayers, according to an investigation conducted by the Health and Human Services (HHS) Inspector General (IG). Most of...

Color me stunned, but I do believe Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) just admitted to hating abortion. Not that it will have any impact on the way she votes on the matter, but the Democratic House minority leader admitted that “we all” hate abortion during her weekly press briefing on Thursday. After accusing Republicans of a “lack of respect for women” because “they don’t believe in family planning,” Pelosi employed the Royal “We”:“I’ve never—you know, as a mom and a grandmother and all the rest, I respect people’s view on subjects—but I cannot understand why, if you abhor and you view...

Nancy Pelosi is Republicans for their efforts to de-fund Planned Parenthood. She seems to think supporters of defunding the abortion company don’t understand the basics of sex. The Hill reports that Pelosi told reporters, “This is more than Planned Parenthood. It’s about women, it’s about reproductive freedom, it’s about respect for women’s judgment about the sizing and timing of their families. How dare they be so disrespectful to women? How dare they be so disregarding of women’s health issues.” She added that she thinks Republicans needs to learn more about the birds and the bees. She said, “Since I have...

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Thursday she’s not paying attention to Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tumble in the polls, but doubted it is related to the email scandal that appears to have fed into doubts about the former first lady’s trustworthiness. [Snip] She said she’s not following presidential politics too closely as she battles over policies in Congress — “I’m a busy person. We’re trying to save the world with the Iran agreement,” she said [Snip] On the question of Mrs. Clinton’s emails, Mrs. Pelosi said she has never doubted Mrs. Clinton’s assertion that she didn’t send or receive classified...

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) expressed tremendous enthusiasm and optimism at her press briefing today about the nuclear deal that the Obama administration and five other governments has negotiated with the Iranian regime of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei. […] “This is historic. This is grand. This is visionary. This is about peace,” Pelosi said at her briefing. “Some of our members are saying this is the first time since I have been here that I have been able to vote for peace rather than just against war. So, I have confidence in it. The president has authority to do...

When someone challenges the Speaker of the House (by a technical procedure known as declaring the office of the speakership "vacant"), usually the leadership holds what is basically a vote of confidence immediately to show that a majority of the members still support the Speaker. Otherwise it raises doubts about whether the Speaker still has the support of the majority of the members. But that's not what happened when Rep. Mark Meadows declared the office of the speaker vacant in late July in protest against the accomodationist policies of Speaker John Boehner. The House didn't hold any kind of vote...

CIA Director John Brennan threaded a rhetorical needle in an unprecedented televised news conference at CIA headquarters Thursday, acknowledging that agency officers did “abhorrent” things to detainees but defending the overall post-9/11 interrogation program for stopping attacks and saving lives. At the heart of Brennan’s case is a finely tuned argument: that while today’s CIA takes no position on whether the brutal interrogation tactics themselves led detainees to cooperate, there is no doubt that detainees subjected to the treatment offered “useful and valuable” information afterward. …

Charlotte Ivancic, Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) top health policy aide, is leaving his office to join the lobbying firm Tarplin, Downs & Young, the firm announced Wednesday. Ivancic led the negotiations for Boehner on the repeal of Medicare’s Sustainable Growth Rate this year. The elimination of the annual Washington headache of automatic cuts to doctors under Medicare, after negotiations with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was a significant achievement. […] Tarplin, Downs & Young was founded in 2006 by former Republican healthcare staffers in the Bush administration and on Capitol Hill. It also has former Democratic staffers. …

Margaret Sanger is a saint in the feminist church. She is a charter member of the progressive hall of fame. Liberals revere this woman who preached “race improvement” and denounced what she called “human weeds”.Hillary Clinton glows that she is “in awe of” Sanger. She said so in 2009 upon receiving Planned Parenthood’s “highest honor” that year: its coveted Margaret Sanger Award.Likewise effusive was Nancy Pelosi when she proudly accepted the award in 2014.Speaking to Planned Parenthood a year earlier, President Barack Obama, hailed the organization founded by this racial eugenicist committed to creating a “race of thoroughbreds” and purging...

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wondered Thursday whether opponents of President Obama’s Iran nuclear program agreement read the deal before coming out in opposition to it, and said she’s certain she can keep enough Democrats in line to sustain an Obama veto and preserve his policy. Praising both Mr. Obama and former President George W. Bush, who she said began building the international coalition that first imposed sanctions and then earlier this month agreed to the deal with Iran, Mrs. Pelosi said she was confident the opponents’ campaign to try to defeat the deal in Congress will fail. She also...

Don't get into a pissing match with walls in San Francisco. The city's Public Works agency is testing a pee-repellant paint on walls in areas that have been saturated with urine. Anyone urinating on the specially treated walls will get the spray splashed back onto them. [Snip] "The urine will bounce back on the guys pants and shoes. The idea is they will think twice next time about urinating in public," said Rachel Gordon, a Public Works Department spokeswoman. She said the super-hard coating made the "bounce back" effect much stronger than when peeing on a regular wall.
