NEW YORK (Reuters) - The chief executive and a managing partner of the collapsed Dubai private equity firm Abraaj Capital Ltd were arrested on U.S. charges that they defrauded their investors, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a federal prosecutor said on Thursday. Abraaj founder and Chief Executive Arif Naqvi was arrested in the United Kingdom last Friday, while managing partner Mustafa Abdel-Wadood was arrested at a New York hotel on Thursday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrea Griswold said at a hearing in Manhattan federal court. Abdel-Wadood appeared at the hearing and pleaded not guilty to securities fraud, wire fraud...

March 23, 2018 The Obama administration placed a declared enemy of the United States (who was on U.S. Central Command’s Operation Iraqi Freedom “Blacklist”) inside the wire at Port Canaveral, Florida with a 35 year cargo container terminal lease. That lease bypassed the congressionally-mandated national security review by 16 intelligence agencies. In 2014 Obama and Clinton operatives positioned Gulftainer, a Middle Eastern ports company, only a few thousand feet from U.S. Navy Trident submarines at Port Canaveral and within sight of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Gulftainer is now embedded amidst America’s most sensitive space, naval submarine, and air force defense...

Well, that’s exactly what happened in Malibu at Pepperdine University’s graduation yesterday when a group of Pelicans decided that maybe some of the students weren’t quite ready to graduate and decided to attack them and let their opinion be heard! But thankfully, the graduation security detail (it’s California) couldn’t find the pelican family on the guest list and promptly surrounded them before realizing they had no idea how to actually kick them out… See, this is why I’m glad that it’s hot enough in Tennessee to where we have the common sense to have most of our graduations indoors, away...

"In a surprising move, the popular cooler making company YETI has announced it will be cutting ties with the National Rifle Association" ...Freepers, time to give Yeti a serious lesson. See link below.
-
On April 21 Breitbart News reported on a NRA-ILA statement which said Yeti Coolers had cut ties with the NRA Foundation. The statement, written by former NRA president and USF executive director Marion Hammer, said, “Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation.”

Update: Austin-based Yeti says claims made by the National Rifle Association over the weekend are “inaccurate” and that the company is “unwavering in our belief in and commitment to the Constitution of the United States and its Second Amendment.” In an email to its members, the NRA claimed Yeti “suddenly, without prior notice” indicated it no longer wished to do business with the NRA Foundation. Not so, says Yeti. The maker of coolers and thermal mugs says the NRA has twisted its words. “A few weeks ago, Yeti notified the NRA Foundation, as well as a number of other organizations,...

Wednesday afternoon the story broke in Baton Rouge media that the Kenilworth Science & Technology School had been raided by the FBI. The FBI indicated that the raid, which evidently was conducted to gather material evidence in the form of documents and computers, was not a matter of public safety. As a result, it probably was not related to a report earlier this year that a teacher at the school was accused of having inappropriate pictures of children on his cell phone. Had those charges stuck, that would have been the second scandal of a sexual nature involving a Gulenist...

MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — A transient was arrested Wednesday evening after allegedly killing a pelican with his bare hands. Sergio Alvarez, 30, is facing felony animal cruelty charges and is being held on $20,000 bail, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. While on patrol around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy was flagged down by a witness near the Malibu Pier in the 23000 block of Pacific Coast Highway, officials said. The witness said Alvarez had a pelican by its throat and was choking with both hands. “Witnesses told deputies the pelican flapped its wings in distress until its body went limp...

NEW ORLEANS -- At first, 4-year-old Jonathan Bush wanted to sell all of his toys to help save the oiled pelicans. The images on the evening news upset him, said Lori Bush, his mother. Lori Bush told him he did not have to take that extreme a step -- plus she had planned to pass along his toys to a younger brother, eventually. "How about selling lemonade?" she suggested. Jonathan jumped on the idea immediately, helping his mother organize a well-patronized lemonade stand Saturday morning. "I want to help the pelicans," Jonathan said, adding that he can not help directly...

Jaques, a UC Davis graduate, said the pelicans got caught in a storm that arrived Dec. 14. It was the worst coastal freeze in 40 years, she said, dropping temperatures to as low as 2 degrees and covering beaches in snow. Within days, she said, the birds flew south. ...It's possible the frigid birds spent every last calorie..."
