The lawyer for the family of the late Joe Paterno announced Wednesday that he plans on suing the NCAA, its president Mark Emmert and its executive committee chairman, Ed Ray. The decision is no surprise – it's been anticipated long before it was announced on Wednesday's edition of "Costas Tonight." The suit's goal is "to redress the NCAA's 100-percent adoption of the Freeh report and the imposition of a binding-consent decree," Wick Sollers, the Paterno family attorney, said on the NBC Sports Network show. In layman's terms, the Paternos aren't pleased that Penn State hired former FBI head Louis Freeh...

Bosnian police began raiding several locations in eastern Bosnia and questioning a number of people, including the country's security minister, in a case involving incitement to prostitution and sexual abuse of a minor, officials said. The police are conducting searches in thirteen locations near the eastern towns of Serbenica and Bratunac and interviewing several people, including a number of police officers and education workers, police spokesman Dragomir Pajic told Balkan Insight. Bosnia's Security Minister Sadik Ahmetovic told journalists that he had also been invited for questioning about the case, which he said involved a minor Roma girl reportedly raped by...

Family advocates are outraged by a prom held at Boston City Hall that was open to children apparently as young as 12 featuring crossdressers, homosexual heavy petting, suspected drug use and a leather-clad doorman who teaches sexual bondage classes. Children from middle schools and high schools across Massachusetts on May 9 attended a Youth Pride Day event ending with a prom inside of Boston City Hall sponsored by the Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Youth, or BAGLY, a group seated on the Massachusetts Commission for GLBT Youth. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino issued a proclamation welcoming homosexual and transgender...

"Carlino stated that viewing child pornography became an addiction," the agent indicated. "Carlino further admitted to adopting false personas while online -- alternatively pretending to be a 13-year-old girl and a mother in her 20s -- so that men would be more interested in chatting with him, and sending him child pornography." "We are just saddened by the whole thing," said the Rev. Randy Sabella, pastor of the Malaga Assembly of God. "We feel very sorry for him and his family. We are praying for him and praying for his family." Sabella stressed Carlino is no longer youth minister. Ramirez...

SAN ANGELO, Texas -- More than 400 children taken from a ranch run by a polygamous sect will stay in state custody and be subject to genetic testing, a judge ruled Friday. State District Judge Barbara Walther heard 21 hours of testimony over two days before ruling that the children be kept by the state. Individual hearings will be set for the children over the next several weeks. She ordered that all children and parents be given genetic testing. Child welfare officials have said they've had difficulty determining how the children and parents are related because of evasive or changing...

WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- There is no way to understand the horror of priestly pedophilia in the Archdiocese of Boston and elsewhere unless one accepts the existence of the Evil One as a powerful reality. The Catholic celibacy rule is doubtless a contributing factor, as is the collapse of the structure of the priesthood since the Second Vatican Council. But what is Scripture if not the story of a cosmic struggle between God and the Prince of the World, as Luther called Satan? Suppose you were the Devil, extremely intelligent, mighty, and determined to destroy God's creation -- where...

Rights lobby kicks off election campaign By Stacy Farrah The State’s political parties will be quizzed about their commitment to gay and lesbian rights in the lead-up to next year’s NSW state election. The election may still be months away, but the Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby is already investigating which candidates will support four key areas of reform. Co-convenor Somali Ghosh said the Lobby would pressure parties to secure commitments to an equal age of consent for everyone, recognition of gay and lesbian parents and changes to the way the Anti-Discrimination Act allows churches and private schools to...

WASHINGTON, June 27 — In one of the first consequences of its landmark ruling on gay rights on Thursday, the Supreme Court today set aside the lengthy prison sentence imposed on a gay Kansas teenager for having had sex with a younger boy. In a brief order with little elaboration, the court vacated the 17-year sentence imposed in 2000 on the defendant, Matthew Limon, and returned the case to the Kansas courts "for further consideration in light of Lawrence v. Texas." The case of Lawrence v. Texas, which was decided on Thursday and overturned an Texas antisodomy law, upheld the...
