House Speaker Paul D. Ryan is poised to launch a frantic cross-country tour over the final five-week stretch before Election Day aimed at saving the GOP’s congressional majority. The Wisconsin Republican will hit 17 states and 42 cities from several corners of the nation, from Texas to Florida to New York, while raising money and stumping for more than a dozen House and Senate candidates, according to his political advisers. Unlike most of the speaker’s previous political travel — which focused on closed-door fundraisers — Ryan’s appearances will include many public events with Republicans who are facing difficult reelection prospects.

Daan Roosegaarde reached into the pocket of his suit jacket, pulled out a plastic bag filled with black powder, and waved it around. “This is Beijing smog,” Roosegaarde said, before gesturing to the seven-metre tall, gently humming metal tower we are stood next to in the Chinese capital’s art district, 798. “We collected it from the tower yesterday. Incredibly disgusting.” Dutch designer Roosegaarde’s smog souvenir may be disgusting, but it’s the byproduct of an invention that he has touted as a potential alleviator of China’s pollution problems. His “smog-free tower” sucks air, filters it with ion technology, with Roosegaarde having...

Forty-three years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled abortion to be a constitutional right. Three years later, Illinois Republican Rep. Henry Hyde pushed Congress into banning almost all federal funds from being used for abortions. That ban, an annual budget rider known as the Hyde Amendment, has saved more than two million children from death in the womb, according to a new report from Charlotte Lozier Institute Associate Scholar Dr. Michael New.Naturally, Democrats want it gone. From my article at The Stream: The Democratic Party’s platform promises to repeal of the Amendment because it “impede[s] a woman’s access to abortion,”...

In the course of her tin-foily attempt to deflect from her foundation’s pay-to-play scandals by smearing Donald Trump’s supporters as racist Klan members in thrall to Vladimir Putin, Hillary Clinton defended Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan from the alleged anti-Catholicism of Donald Trump’s campaign CEO Stephen K. Bannon. During her litany of racist innuendo, the Democratic nominee heaped special opprobrium on Bannon, who took a leave of absence as Breitbart’s Executive Chairman to join the Trump campaign. “Bannon has nasty things to say about pretty much everyone,” Clinton told the rally crowd in Reno, NV, on Thursday. “This spring, he...

House Speaker Paul Ryan wins primary, defeats longshot GOP challenger praised by Donald Trump. Ryan was being challenged by Paul Nehlen. Nehlen had been courting Trump supporters and won praise from the Republican presidential nominee last week. But Trump endorsed Ryan days later. Ryan had largely ignored Nehlen in what had been a sleepy primary before Trump thanked Nehlen on Twitter for his comments defending Trump. Nehlen won the backing of some prominent conservative figures, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, but it wasn't enough to overcome Ryan's popularity in his southeastern Wisconsin district. Ryan was first elected in 1998...

1st CD, Republican: Incumbent Paul Ryan, of Janesville, and Paul Nehlen, of Williams Bay. I absolutely have nothing on this election, so I thought I'd start a thread, and we can add to it as information comes in. Some polls have Ryan way ahead, and a few find it less certain. On the other hand, wasn't this the climate before the Cantor election? He was sitting fat dumb and happy with a big lead in the polls? If I were a betting man, I'd have to put my money on Ryan and by all counts, he's a very popular guy...

JANESVILLE, Wisconsin — House Speaker Paul Ryan should coast to reelection here despite a scare from Republican businessman Paul Nehlen, a new poll shows. The Remington Research Group survey conducted on Aug. 3 found that Ryan leads Nehlen 80 percent to 14 percent. A minimal six percent say they are undecided. The survey was of 1,157 likely primary voters and has a margin of error of three points. The survey also found that 80 percent of respondents found Ryan favorable, with just 14 percent finding him unfavorable and six percent having no opinion. Nehlen, meanwhile, was viewed by 16 percent...

Washington (CNN)Sarah Palin reiterated her support for Paul Ryan's primary challenger Friday night immediately after her political ally, Donald Trump, endorsed the House speaker. Trump on Friday evening said in Wisconsin that he would back Ryan in his Republican primary against Paul Nehlen, a little-known challenger. That announcement was a reversal from earlier in the week, when the presidential nominee declined to endorse the speaker. Minutes after Trump announced his support during a rally in Ryan's home state, Palin wrote on Facebook that she was "proud to be standing with Paul Nehlen since May 9th." "Wisconsin, please vote for this...

JANESVILLE, Wisconsin — Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), a former GOP presidential candidate who won this state over current GOP nominee Donald Trump back during the primaries, is not backing House Speaker Paul Ryan’s re-election during his primary against Republican businessman Paul Nehlen at this point. Cruz’s team, over the course of several emails on Friday, told Breitbart News the Senator would not at this time back Ryan for re-election to the U.S. Congress. It’s worth noting, though, that according to Cruz’s team Ryan has not asked Cruz for his endorsement. Cruz also refused to endorse Donald Trump for president, despite...

Donald Trump is set to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan (Wis.) during a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Friday evening, Fox News reported. The expected endorsement comes three days after Trump told the Washington Post he was not “yet” ready to back Ryan in his upcoming primary election next Tuesday against Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen. While Trump publicly praised Nehlen for running “a very good campaign” earlier this week, Ryan is expected to win the primary by a landslide. The House speaker leads Nehlen by 66 points, according to a poll released Friday by the Remington Research Group. Trump...

Paul Ryan is OWNED by a powerful DC lobbyist/immigration lawyer. Ryan was hand picked and mentored to push his agenda. His name is Cesar Conda. He brought Ryan to DC. He also groomed and picked one Marco Rubio acting as his chief of staff and more recently running Rubio's Florida PAC, and IMO, his campaign. Cesar Conda and his biggest ally, Grover Norquist have an agenda. It is to control the Republican party and the candidates who run in these elections who will implement the policies they want in place to profit their various NON profit scams. They are not...

JANESVILLE, Wisconsin — “Never Trump” movement leader Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard seemingly accidentally let the cat out of the bag about House Speaker Paul Ryan: Kristol says Ryan is secretly working against Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president. “Trump is corrupting everyone who has supported him, or who is working for him, and even is accommodating or rationalizing,” Kristol said in an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Thursday, one his own publication the Weekly Standard promoted online. During the interview, Kristol incredibly claimed that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence—Donald Trump’s running mate, the vice presidential nominee—does not...

Kenosha, WI – Former Congressman Tom Tancredo called on House Speaker Paul Ryan to “stand up” and “tell people the truth” about his longstanding support of the donor class’ open borders agenda. Tancredo explained that Paul Ryan is a “poster boy” for the Chamber of Commerce and supports the Chambers’ desire for cheap foreign labor regardless of how it “hurts [his] own constituents.” “I’ve know Paul Ryan since the day he walked into Congress,” Tancredo told reporters on Wednesday. “And I assure you… he has never, ever, ever been supportive of any of the attempts that have been made to...

Coming on the heels of her pivotal endorsement that helped propel Donald Trump to becoming the Republican nominee, conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly is once again entering the 2016 electoral fray. After ending the presidential ambitions of Sen. Marco Rubio, the living legend now has her 91-year-old sights set on the highly controversial House Speaker Paul Ryan, who leads America’s globalist political sect and is nominally a member of the Republican Party. Ryan has faced a spirited challenge in his August 9th open primary election from Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen.
