Development of a proposed hyperloop transportation system linking Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Chicago would not only be a boon to communities along the travel corridors but also would be a strong business investment. That’s the conclusion of a 157-page feasibility study released Monday in Cleveland by the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency and Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc., a California-based company developing the technology to move passengers and freight at more than 500 mph through low-pressure tubes. Consultant Transportation Economics and Management Systems performed the $1.3 million study of the proposed Great Lakes Hyperloop System. For the first time, the study estimated...

Ohio planners will move full speed ahead on a proposed hyperloop system that would carry passengers between Pittsburgh and Chicago in about 58 minutes for a one-way cost of about $93. But the full system, known as Mid-West Connect, probably wouldn’t be finished until about 2050. Thea Walsh, director of transportation and funding for the Columbus, Ohio-based Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, said this week the agency is putting the finishing touches on feasibility and environmental impact studies but has concluded it should pursue the hyperloop system. The system being developed by Virgin Hyperloop One would move passengers and freight in...

It might seem obvious, but don’t bring explosives or devices that shoot explosives on airplanes. Even if they're just replicas, it's still a bad idea. The TSA recently tweeted out two photos of items that passengers attempted to bring onto planes with them. Based on the information, it does not appear that either traveler intended to use these items for no good, but they were still clearly against regulations.

The Democrats have tried to smear President Trump by association with Jeffrey Epstein, while ignoring the fact that Bill Clinton was a frequent flyer on the Lolita Express. It turns out that Trump actually threw Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago: President Trump was asked about Epstein — a billionaire who rubbed shoulders with celebrities and world leaders — while speaking to reporters on Tuesday. “I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him. He was a fixture in Palm Beach. I had a falling out with him a long time ago,” Trump said. “I don’t think I’ve spoken to him...

The group had been visiting the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador before passing through Miami, an American Airlines rep told the outlet. Three other members reported feeling ill but were not hospitalized. A chaperone told American that the 13 “ate the same thing” before falling sick. No one else on the flight showed symptoms, according to the airline. Officials described the symptoms as mild — though they were not immediately sure what caused them.

All passengers were screened, the airline said, and three passengers and seven crew members were transported to a hospital for treatment and evaluation. Tamar’s sister Towanda accused a Delta pilot of ridiculing Tamar after the pilot left the safety of the reinforced cockpit to deal with the part-time singer’s unruly behavior. “@tamarbraxton got ridiculed by a pilot for flying while black on Delta,” Towanda wrote in an Instagram post dated July 28. “Wow! Chris Pratt Reveals His Conversion to Christianity Chris Pratt is a rare bird: a conservative Christian who is also a major star in Hollywood. In an interview this week for Vanity Fair, Pratt described his conversion to Christianity — and the magazine's writer felt it necessary to explain his faith away. And by major star, I mean major. Although his latest hit, Passengers (2016), has not impressed at the box office and has gotten panned by reviewers, his career is still on the up-and-up. After his breakout role in the show Parks and Recreation (2009-2015), Pratt has starred in The Lego...

A European Union judge says an EU agreement to exchange air passenger information with Canada to combat terrorism should be revised because parts of it would infringe on people’s rights. Advocate General Paolo Mengozzi said in a legal opinion published Thursday that the deal signed in 2014 should not enter force in its current form. […] Under it, Canadian authorities would have access to the data of European travelers like contact details, credit card and other personal information. …

Hanging onto your wallet is not an option. The feds will find your back pocket. And then there are the other thugs who prey on passengers. Nobody will get home unscathed When you venture beneath the city streets, go through or leap over the turnstile (not recommended . . . a consequence may be a fine, or a broken leg), stroll down the platform to the favored spot where your preferred car will stop, three things can happen. Two are bad. You have a chance to get on the train and reach your destination safely . . . so far...

On one airline, a trip in flight will also involve a trip to the scale. Uzbekistan Airways announced recently it would begin pre-flight weighing of passengers to determine the average weight of passengers and their carry-on luggage. It appears that the procedure is strictly for research purposes and will aid the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in ensuring flight safety. Passengers will be asked to proceed through a weighing machine in the departure gate zone. The record of passenger weights will remain anonymous, according to the airline. Instead, weights will be categorized by gender or age, if the passenger is...

The lot of the poor economy-class airline customer has never been a happy one: there's the food (or lack of), cramped conditions, loud noises and being just that bit too close for comfort to your fellow passengers. However, things could get a whole lot worse, if one company's designs are adopted. Named the "Economy Class Cabin Hexagon", the design aims to switch up seating arrangements, by placing airline seats in different directions in order to improve space and "increase cabin density."

Starting in 2016, the Transportation Security Administration will require all airline passengers to present a REAL ID compliant identification card or a passport in order to board a flight. The Department of Homeland Security estimates that 20-30% of Americans live in jurisdictions that are not REAL ID compliant, meaning their driver's licenses will no longer be accepted during security checks at the airport.

Passengers on board two Delta flights at Kennedy Airport were taken off each of the aircrafts Monday night as authorities investigated a bomb threat that turned out to be unfounded, officials say. There are two Delta flights with the number 468: one has a Boeing 757 plane landing at JFK from San Francisco at 8 p.m., with 171 passengers on board, according to Delta Airlines. The other flight has a Boeing...
