CNN's Jonathan Reiner was back to playing criminal prosecutor on TV today -- even though he's actually a doctor. We caught him last week accusing President Trump of "negligent homicide." On this morning's New Day, Reiner's charge against the president was "criminal endangerment." But somehow it's outrageous that the president would want any doctor treating him to sign a non-disclosure agreement -- as if there weren't leftist networks and newspapers who would salivate at the chance to get nasty leaks. In his absurd eagerness to always be spinning in favor of a Democrat (never a Republican) involved in an election campaign, CNN's resident prognosticator Chris Cillizza with a history of often hilarious errors spun himself into a corner on Tuesday. All he had to do was wait a couple of hours and he could have spared himself the embarrassment of portraying the scandal of Democrat candidate for the U.S. Senate from North Carolina, Cal Cunningham, as just a silly sexting scandal when there was already every sign that it was much more than that.

In an utterly shameful episode of journalistic malpractice, Deadline published a completely false story claiming that Vice President Mike Pence had tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. While the news outlet quickly retracted the story, it did not explicitly correct the record or state that Pence definitively does not have COVID-19. Online news website Deadline on Thursday admitted to accidentally publishing a draft story that incorrectly stated that Vice President Pence tested positive for COVID-19. “A draft post of a story about Vice President Mike Pence testing positive for coronavirus that was never meant to publish was accidentally posted on Deadline,” the news organization said in a statement on its website roughly 30 minutes after the story had been posted. ABC News on Thursday published a lengthy article that ABC touted as a fact-check on Wednesday night’s first and only vice presidential debate, but the network’s article exclusively focused on Vice President Mike Pence’s remarks. The article, titled “Fact-checking the 2020 vice presidential debate between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris,” promises to evaluate “what both candidates said,” but deals only with the vice president. ABC divided the feature into 12 separate sections, each of which dealt only with remarks from Pence.

A federal judge on Wednesday ordered Twitter to reveal who was behind the account that allegedly spread the conspiracy about the death of slain Democratic National Committee (DNC) staffer Seth Rich. U.S. Magistrate Judge Donna Ryu in Oakland, Calif., ordered that Twitter must turn over information about the account @whyspertech.
