Comedian Louis C.K.‘s new comedy special, Oh My God, premiered on HBO Saturday night. The one-hour special contained funny, often hilarious, material from the industry superstar. As a longtime fan of C.K.’s work, including his hit FX_sitcom, Louie, I eagerly tuned in, only to be profoundly disappointed by what appears to be a slur against gay men. Early in the segment, C.K.’s (admittedly_dark) humor took a turn towards the offensive. While describing his New York City apartment building, C.K. reflected on the fountain in the courtyard that features “marble boys pissing”: What is it with fountains? Like, all fountain-sculptors are...

The Catholic Archbishop of Durban, Wilfrid Fox Napier, told BBC Radio...

The campaigning zeal for gay rights of Peter Tatchell has earned him a measure of broad support to the same extent it has resulted in profound disquiet and suspicion. Remarkably, in unequal measure, even religious opinion is divided. Exactly what are his ambitions and from where does he draw inspiration? Foremost, he supports gay rights under the banner of “Human Rights, Democracy, Global Justice, LGBTI Freedom”. The aim is to pursue a specific interest relating to homosexuality. Not surprisingly, this has led many to think his concern for human rights is broadly based. They are wrong. As a gay 18-year-old...

People often make comments to the effect that there is no relationship between being Muslim and paedophilia, that this non-indigenous religious group has been unjustly targeted. As an example, here's what I found posted in a student forum: What I've never been able to grasp is why whenever middle-eastern men commit a crime, they are not identified by their nationality, but by their religion? This is blatantly an attempt to make Islam look bad. If a brit were to rape a teenager, it wouldn't say "Chrisitan [sic] male rapes teenager". How do you even know that these people are in...

At a news conference on Friday, May 4, 2012, Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia announced that “the work of the special team investigating the 26 priests publicly placed on leave by Cardinal Rigali last year is now largely done.” He recalled that “the 2011 grand jury report challenged the Archdiocese to review certain cases of past allegations of sexual abuse of minors by clergy as well as some cases involving violations of the Archdiocese’s Standards of Ministerial Behavior and Boundaries.” The 26 cases were examined by “a veteran Philadelphia child abuse prosecutor, Mrs. Gina Maisto Smith, and a multi-disciplinary team...

The organisation, which calls itself B4U-Act, is lobbying for changes to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, or DSM, the guideline of standards on mental health that is put together by the American Psychiatric Association, FOXNews.com said. The group says its mission is to help paedophiles before they create a crisis, and to do so by offering a less critical view of the disorder. "Stigmatising and stereotyping minor-attracted people inflames the fears of minor-attracted people, mental health professionals and the public, without contributing to an understanding of minor-attracted people or the issue of child sexual abuse," reads the...

The Catholic Church was criticised in court as a paedophile former priest was jailed for a campaign of sexually abuse against young boys that spanned four decades. James Robinson, 73, who fled to the US in 1985, was found guilty of 21 sexual offences at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday after being extradited from America. The jury heard he carried out a string of abuses against six victims, including two altar boys, between 1959 and 1983. Robinson, who worked in the Black Country, Staffordshire, Birmingham and Coventry after being ordained as a priest in 1971, denied all the charges but was...

In 1922, the Vatican promulgated an instruction to do with what it called crimen solicitationis (the crime of solicitation within the confessional) and what it called the ‘‘worst crime’’ - the sexual abuse of children. The document was issued in Latin. No authoritative version was produced in English. The document was circulated only to bishops and under terms of strict secrecy. A new version of the guidelines was produced in 1962, but this, according to the Murphy Commission, was unknown within the Dublin diocese until some time in the 1990s. Desmond Connell, the former archbishop, told the commission he had...

Many will find this article deeply disturbing. But as a paedophile ring is smashed, one man jailed for child porn offences gives a brutally honest insight into his warped desires... and his wife reveals why she's standing by him. Bill Henkel and his wife Sharon sit close together on a sofa in their bright, immaculate detached home in a quiet corner of eastern England. They are active members of their local church. They sing in old age homes and Henkel, 47, likes to help the elderly of the parish with D.I.Y. jobs. On the surface, there is nothing remarkable about...

The PNVD was formed by three paedophiles in May, prompting outrage in Dutch society. It seeks to lower the age of sexual consent from 16 to 12 and legalise child pornography and sex with animals. "Freedom of expression...including the freedom to set up a political party can...

An appeals court judge in the People's Supreme Court of communist-run Vietnam announced the decision in Ho Chi Minh City after a one-day hearing that was closed to the public and the media. A British charity worker wanted for alleged sex offences against street children in India has freely entered the UK despite police in London being told he was being deported to Britain from Africa, The Daily Telegraph can reveal. Duncan Grant, who is the subject of an international arrest warrant under an Interpol "red notice" issued by the Indian authorities, is understood to have arrived at Heathrow on June 1. Abortion Clinics Fighting Kansas AG's Effort to Stop Child Rape By Mary Rettig February 24, 2005 (AgapePress) - The Attorney General of Kansas is asking two abortion clinics to release information to help with an investigation into the rape of children. The law enforcement official wants access to the juvenile patient information in order to determine if any sexual crimes against children have been committed. Soon after Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline took office in January 2003, he released an opinion stating that medical professionals have a legal obligation to report incidences of statutory rape. That opinion is now the...

It's not just the high-profile cases, like the ex-model held for seducing a boy of 14. At that time, many pro-family groups -- among them Focus on the Family, the American Family Association, Concerned Women for...

Brain tumour causes uncontrollable paedophilia 10:00 21 October 02 NewScientist.com news service The sudden and uncontrollable paedophilia exhibited by a 40-year-old man was caused by an egg-sized brain tumour, his doctors have told a scientific conference. And once the tumour had been removed, his sex-obsession disappeared. The cancer was located in the right lobe of the orbifrontal cortex, which is known to be tied to judgment, impulse control and social behaviour. But neurologists Russell Swerdlow and Jeffrey Burns, of the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, believe it is the first reported case linking damage to the region with paedophilia. "We're...

Thought for the day If you believe in a truly libertarian society, your only way to success is in working to build a society based upon traditional morality, shame and chastity. Contradictory? Actually, no. Given a little examination, it turns out to be rather obvious; almost self-evidently true. If you want to live in a country where every man supports himself rather than looking to the taxpayer, where crime is rare and so massive police powers, ID cards and DNA databases are superfluous, you will not do so on the back of the destructive policies of social liberalism. Libertarians traditionally...

Paedophilia and the Muslim Board That was a week of virii-laden mail. I'm guessing that they constitute the Islamist/"secularist" argument against my point of view... Well, today, there's more yet to bring on the worms: On June 24, The Hindu published a report on the recently concluded meeting of The All India Muslim Personal Law Board held in Hyderabad; I'm reproducing the entire item here since it wasn't carried by other publications, and, strangely, "AIMPLB wants exemption from Child Marriage Act" isn't to be found in the online edition of The Hindu anymore: "The All India Muslim Personal Law Board...

Dozens of suspected paedophiles have been held in synchronised raids across the world in an operation led by UK police. Officers from the UK's National Hi-Tech Crime Unit worked for a year to smash an Internet-based child abuse ring which called itself the "Shadowz Brotherhood". Hundreds of officers swooped on suspects' homes this morning in seven countries, seizing dozens of computers. Even hardened detectives described the images and videos involved as the most horrific they had ever seen - many involved babies. The police investigation - code-named Operation Twins - was supported by Europol in The Hague. A Europol spokesman...

An alleged victim says he was abused for years. A Boston priest at the heart of a sex abuse scandal that has rocked the Roman Catholic Church taught children how to inject drugs, his diary has revealed. Reverend Paul Shanley, who was involved with the North American Man Boy Love Association which promotes sex between men and children, also suffered from sexually transmitted diseases, he wrote. Personal papers and other documents relating to Mr Shanley have been discovered by the Boston archdiocese and handed to lawyers suing the Church on behalf of an alleged victim of molestation. Revelations about...
