internet-connectivity seems to be what really counts, even for dishwashers. Indeed, our new machine flashed a light in excitement about finding a signal from our router. It must have been really happy! Dear Cousin Punxsutawney Phil, Cordial thanks for your response to my letter of last year to our Aunt Climate. I think you were right on target and our great aunt has listened to our gripes. Of course, she’s not alone; as you know the U.S. President, in his speech on the State of the Union, a couple of nights ago, did not even mention “climate change” once. Presumably,...

Any gun physics nerds here? Science says it’s harder to create movement in water than in air, because water molecules are closer together than air molecules. But would you bet your life on this? Physicist Andreas Wahl did just that, he is very brave (or stupid) to do such a test. He put himself in front of a weapon submerged in water and fires it on himself. All of this in the name of science. Now that wasn't too bad, you gotta love the slow-motion preview, its exciting and amazing to watch. This experiment was two fold: One – water...

Crop damage deer can be a big problem to many farmers, according to University of Florida IFAS document – Farmers reported that a variety of wildlife species were responsible for the crop damage they experienced during the past two years. The majority of crop damage was attributed to these species: white-tailed deer (damage reported by 94% of farmers). Farmers like Robert Runkles shared a video on Youtube, showing how he uses long-range firepower to mitigate this problem. Mr Runkles utilizes a .50 BMG to make this incredible shot from 902 yards. When your livelihood is threatened farmers needs to do...
  • Man loses leg after shooting at Tannerite filled Lawn Mower

Shooting at Tannerite can be fun to watch, but its important to be safety minded. In reality this is explosives and there are instances where accident happens when one doesn’t heed to safety. Like this 23-year-old David Pressley and some friends put about three pounds of Tannerite into an old riding mower with the intent to shoot it and blow it up with the explosive. The story goes, after “getting more than 20 shots” off the lawnmower exploded. Pressley can be heard yelling “I blew my leg off!” and blood spatters appeared on his person. Pressley’s friends applied a tourniquet...

We've seen some mouse guns out in the wild internet. Many people have made some really nice authentic looking replicas like the 1911 and Glocks. But its not too often that you find one that can actually shoot a .22 bullet. In this video from DonP Facebook, looks like a mini-mouse gun that you would see in the “Cannon Fodder” video games. This mini-mouse gun does pack a bang. Chalk another one up for the collectors bin. This thing is really amazing at such small scale that can pack a loud bang. See the full footage of this small pistol...

1911 pistols are some of the best handguns for competitive shooting and personal defense. Some gun folks don’t like to disassemble it, which is a small hiccup. A feature that we don’t hear much about is its incredible reliability due to other manufactures in the market blowing their horn louder. Do you think your pistol can fire in -65°F? Youtuber Brass Fetcher froze his Sig 45 1911 pistol for two hours prior to shooting it for the video. As you watch the 1911 chamber a second bullet after the discharge, you'll notice the frost coming off the hammer. Very impressive!,...

Combination knife/gun weapons have been popular gadgets for literally hundreds of years, and this is one of the nicest examples to be seen. There are many correct ways to train with firearms for a gunfight. Many top gun school teaches best practice techniques for weapons employment and tactics. It’s not too often that out in the wild internet we come across a video that tries to convey this but, a fun way to practice with a little of stress into the course of fire. Not sure if this is the correct way to go about "TrAiN LiKe YoU fiGhT" So these guys from "Si vis pacem para fireworks" had fire crackers going off with rockets shooting at them while shooting. Maybe they got...

A sea lion bit a woman swimming at San Francisco’s Aquatic Park on Thursday in the fourth such attack in about a month. The woman apparently was not badly hurt, but authorities are worried about further attacks. A retired San Francisco firefighter also swimming in the bay around 7 a.m. helped the woman as she came out of the water, said Fire Department Lt. John Baxter, but the woman was able to walk on her own. She was taken to a hospital. Alice Ma said she and the victim are members of the South End Rowing Club, and that they...

This may be something that most EDC crowds don’t think about is your clothing. How well can an outdoor jacket and a thin long sleeve shirt protect the skin, compared to a cut resistant sleeve advertised by DAS Leben on Amazon? This is something that was discussed on a gun and self defense forum. Supposedly, this slash resistant arm guard can hold up to the claim. Youtuber Skallagrim went out and tested this and the results were not good. Take a look.Just out of curiosity Skallagrim decides what if you only wear a thin long sleeve top with a rain...

A half-century is a long time for a standard-issue weapon such as the M16 to remain 'standard.' Here is a quick look at three M16 variants that saw service. The M16 has served as the United States’ primary service rifle for nearly half a century, and in that span of time, many variations of the rifle have been created. Some were prototypes that never went beyond the testing stages, others represented improvements to the original design, and some simply defy easy description. While a complete history of all the unusual M16 versions could fill a book (and probably have), here is...

Doug White with Bear and .44 Magnum On September 7th, 2006,  Alaskan moose hunters, Doug White and Reed Thompson, were working on packing out the meat and head from a successful moose hunt. They were attacked by a large grizzly bear. As the attack was in 2006, it did not get the coverage it would today.  I found the account as I was searching for bear attacks where pistols had been used as a defensive measure. I vaguely remembered the incident.  The bear moved from one hunter to the other during the attack, giving Doug the chance to access...

For Ruger fans, many love the Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle. But, have you seen the 9mm carbine? If the smaller caliber can’t get the job done, the new Ruger PC carbine 9mm will. This is perfect for the SHTF rifle, this little takedown rifle is modeled after the 10/22 and obviously has more power than .22-caliber takedown rifles. The Ruger PC Carbine comes in handy for personal defense and hunting at short-range. Add a suppressor like 22plinkster did and your neighbors won’t even know that you’re out plinking. Really great for a bugout gun. So what is so great about...

Henry offers three models, with the Octagon being the most visually striking of the lot. The fit of the metal and wood is tight, and the finish is even and well applied. A 22-inch blued octagonal barrel is installed on a brass receiver, with brass buttplate on a straight-grip stock of quality walnut completing the first impression. Weighing in at about 8 pounds, the rifle feels substantial without appearing heavy. For field carry, it comes with sling swivel studs already installed. The magazine tube holds four cartridges and loads from a port underneath, the same as Henry’s rimfire rifles. While...

Battle of the two powerhouse handguns Both the Glock 10mm and the .357 magnum are serious personal defense calibers. YouTuber mark3smle demonstrates what each caliber is capable of against a ballistic gel. Ballistic gelatin is a testing medium scientifically correlated to swine muscle tissue (which in turn is comparable to human muscle tissue), in which the effects of bullet wounds can be simulated. In other word, the ballistic gel gives you an idea of the path of the bullet when it penetrates a target. You can observe the length of the penetration and the thickness of the canal. Normally, the...

If you’re into hunting waterfowl, you're familiar with the sound of a large goose hitting the ground as it falls from the sky. Gravity, weight and physics at work – its a loud thud. This hunter had a chance to see real physics in the works as this large goose land smack in his face. Mojo TV facebook were filming these hunters getting ready to light up the sky as these gooses were flying by. Everyone pretty much got a hit, especially the far left hunter. As one of the kamikaze goose came in on a suicide hit right directly...

The Pentagon's top enlisted service member has a penchant for hand-to-hand combat, a fact brought to light in recent comments vowing that U.S. troops would defeat its enemies by "shooting them in the face" or in close-quarters combat with shovels. Army Command Sgt. Maj. John Wayne Troxell, senior enlisted adviser to chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, issued the warnings to the Islamic State on Facebook and Twitter this week, telling them they have two options — surrender or die. Senior defense officials have issued similar threats to ISIS in Iraq and Syria, as well as Taliban insurgents in...

In this video we go down the rabbit hole with a suppressed Fostech Origin 12 SBS, this truly is one sick fast shotgun. We have seen Jerry Miculek outrun several shotguns in our time spent with him and the family, but he’s never been behind an Origin 12 on film to our knowledge. Hopefully we’ll be able to put that to the test in the near future. Erik from Iraqveteran8888 runs 30 shots in 8 seconds with a 12 gauge suppressor.
