Full title: The left's obstruction of qualified Trump nominees is yet another front in the war against the presidentMore than a year and a half after the inauguration of Donald Trump’s presidency, the left continues to obstruct the confirmation of nominees to critical posts in both the executive and judicial branches. The unprecedented obstructionism denies leadership to executive branch departments and agencies and impedes the fair and swift administration of justice. It is also an abuse of the Senate’s constitutional obligation to provide “Advice and Consent” regarding presidential nominations of judges and key “Officers of the United States.” The Senate...

The City of Brotherly Love doesn’t have much love for federal immigration officials, but they apparently love them some illegal aliens. The city’s new mayor announced this week that a contract which allows Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to access a database of municipal arrest information as it happens will not be renewed. He went on to complain that the agency was “misusing” the information to persecute people unjustly or something. (Associated Press) Philadelphia will stop giving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement access to a real-time arrest database, saying the agency is misusing the information to conduct sweeps in which...

The special counsel, Robert Mueller, is examining tweets from President Donald Trump about Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the former FBI director James Comey to see if they played a part in attempts to obstruct the Russia investigation, according to the New York Times on Thursday. The report, which cites three people briefed on the matter, said Mueller wants to question the president about the tweets. Privately, some of Trump's lawyers think Mueller will make a case for interference with the probe by tying together some of the president's actions and tweets, the report said.

For years, President Trump has used Twitter as his go-to public relations weapon, mounting a barrage of attacks on celebrities and then political rivals even after advisers warned he could be creating legal problems for himself. Those concerns now turn out to be well founded. The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, is scrutinizing tweets and negative statements from the president about Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey, according to three people briefed on the matter. Several of the remarks came as Mr. Trump was also privately pressuring the men — both key witnesses...

Rudy Giuliani said Monday that he's indicated to special counsel Robert Mueller that President Trump would agree to an interview if questions were focused only on whether his campaign colluded with Russia in the 2016 election. Giuliani told Bloomberg News that the interview would only go forward if questions about obstruction of justice were completely ruled out. The former New York City mayor expressed concerns that Trump might be susceptible to perjuring himself if Mueller believes the versions of events presented by other witnesses. Bloomberg reported that Mueller has not yet responded to Giuliani's proposal. The president has previously said...

My question is based in part from information contained in an article published on May 18, 2018 by TheMarketsWork.com "The FBI’s Outside Contractors, DNC Servers & Crowdstrike" by Jeff Carlson. Since the FBI never examined the DNC server first-hand, and instead of doing so, relied heavily on information provided by Crowdstrike who was hired by the DNC, any such information should NOT be relied upon for any conclusions. Very fishy indeed!

On Friday, former Attorney General Eric Holder predicted there will be a point where the Department of Justice “will not go any further.” He further stated, “We’re going to be in the middle of some kind of crisis.” Holder said, “I suspect that we are on a path where there’s going to be an inevitable clash. We’re going to get to a point where the Justice Department simply will not go any further. I think Rod will not go any further, and something’s going to happen. I don’t know who gets fired or what happens, but we’re going to be...

McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna on Tuesday fired prosecutor Amanda Dillon, the last of Reyna’s remaining employees who provided information to the FBI during its investigation of Reyna. Dillon, who worked as an assistant district attorney for almost eight years, confirmed that Reyna and First Assistant District Attorney Robert Moody called her into Reyna’s office Tuesday afternoon and fired her. When she asked for grounds for the dismissal, Dillon said Reyna only responded, “It’s all documented.” Reyna then had Dillon escorted from the DA’s office by one of his investigators, she said. Reyna did not return the Tribune-Herald’s calls...

Reports of the FBI seizing computer hard drives form the home of the congressional IT director and aide of Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz are accurate, according to FBI sources: with the exception of one major detail. The computer hard drives were not damaged when they were confiscated, FBI sources said. The FBI, who is working in some capacity to assist with the Capitol Police on the Awan investigation, confirm the hard drives and other computer equipment have been damaged but are pointing the finger at the Capitol Police’s chain of custody with the evidence. The FBI, they said,...

Like a trio of famished buzzards, three ugly words have started to circle over Hillary Clinton: obstruction of justice. After reviewing the FBI’s recently released E-mailgate files, House Government Oversight Committee chairman Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah) on Tuesday wrote U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Channing Phillips. “The Committee identified a sequence of events that may amount to obstruction of justice and destruction of evidence by Secretary Clinton and her employees and contractors, including her attorneys, employees of Platte River Networks,” and others, Chaffetz explained. He then asked Phillips to investigate Clinton and company for possibly violating 18 U.S....

Speaker Newt Gingrich was fond of saying “The Democrats are our adversaries. The Senate is our enemy.” The Senate has long been a frustration to the impatient warriors for change. Its rules and culture are intentionally designed to be slow and deliberative, in contrast to the quick-moving partisan House. Today, Republicans have control over all the levers of power. The White House, the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court, the state legislatures, and the governors -- they are all dominated by Republicans. The conservative grassroots is rightfully expecting big things after years of promises. And big things are happening. The...

WASHINGTON — The special counsel plans to finish by Sept. 1 its investigation into whether President Trump obstructed the Russia inquiry, according to the president’s lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani, who said on Sunday that waiting any longer would risk improperly influencing voters in the midterm elections in November. The office of the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, shared its timeline about two weeks ago amid negotiations over whether Mr. Trump will be questioned by investigators, Mr. Giuliani said, adding that Mr. Mueller’s office said the date was contingent on Mr. Trump agreeing to be interviewed. A spokesman for the...

A new report suggests an imminent Inspector General (IG) report may rule that FBI and Justice Department officials broke the law in their handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Investigative reporter Paul Sperry said Thursday that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz has “found ‘reasonable grounds’ for believing there has been a violation of federal criminal law in the FBI/DOJ’s handling of the Clinton investigation/s,” adding that the top watchdog official has “referred his findings of potential criminal misconduct to Huber for possible criminal prosecution.”

In June 1995, Monica Lewinsky’s move to Washington, D.C., was unremarkable. She was a 21-year-old recent college grad with an unpaid internship in the office of President Bill Clinton’s Chief of Staff Leon Panetta, landed with the help of a family connection. But, as the nation later learned, things happened quickly from that point, as it was that year that she began a relationship with the President that would last about two years and lead to an epoch-shaping scandal. The relationship between Lewinsky and President Clinton came to light 20 years ago, and the fallout would dominate 1998’s news. And...

I don't understand. Can someone explain. If the FBI is conducting an investigation, how does firing an FBI director obstruct justice? Doesn't the investigation go on as before? It would seem that the president or anyone else would have to do something more far reaching to succeed in an attempt to halt an investigation.

The leak of a list of questions Mueller wants to ask President Trump is a sign that Mueller’s seemingly never-ending investigation in search of a crime may be getting close to a conclusion. One would think that before interviewing Trump, Mueller would have interviewed everyone else relevant to the case and is now trying to show discrepancies between Trump’s amazingly elastic memory and the memory of others in order to give his leftwing fan club the joy of claiming “obstruction.” Yesterday, the Washington Post ran an anonymously sourced story claiming that Mueller had threatened Trump with a subpoena if he...

The Department of Justice is looking into whether Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf obstructed justice by warning Northern California residents of an impending raid by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The agency’s acting director, Thomas Homan, told “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning that the DOJ is “reviewing” whether Schaaf broke any laws by telling her constituents ICE would be raiding the area in order to arrest people violating federal immigration laws.

If there is an obstruction of justice case to be made against the president in the Trump-Russia affair, James Comey is in the middle of it. President Trump's decision to fire the FBI director is often cited as Exhibit A for obstruction, and the foundation for that case is a set of seven memos Comey wrote describing conversations he had with the president between Jan. 6 and April 11, 2017. The memos are critically important. Portions of them have been leaked to the press, given to a Comey friend, discussed in congressional testimony, and read by a few Capitol Hill...
