I don't understand. Can someone explain. If the FBI is conducting an investigation, how does firing an FBI director obstruct justice? Doesn't the investigation go on as before? It would seem that the president or anyone else would have to do something more far reaching to succeed in an attempt to halt an investigation.

IMO the whole obstruction thing is a red herring to keep the balls in the air...call their bluff.
It comes down to it meaning what they want it to mean, so long as it meets the criteria for their agenda and helps fulfill their ultimate goals...

THE COURTS have ruled, and DOJ has asserted that if there is an active investigation (presumption of crime), and you obstruct it, you have committed OJ.
Even if the original investigation does not result in charges. Or, if it results in acquittal.
Mind you, there is no statute that supports this as far as I am aware.
How can the president of the United States, who is the chief federal law enforcement officer under our constitutional system of government, ever be guilty of obstruction of justice by carrying out his enumerated duties?

That sums it up.
Since Sessions put Rod Rosenstein (senior member of the deep state) in charge of the DOJ the witch hunt has been on. Rod recommended firing Comey who then arranged for Rod to pick Mueller as a Special Consul to investigate collusion with the Ruskies, not the real collusion of Hillary and company, but the imagined collusion of Pres. Trump. This all part of the Establishment Politicians who have been running this Republic to make sure Trump fails.
Furthermore, as evidenced by the FBI’s “investigation” of Hillary Clinton, the FBI’s conducting of an investigation is not justice at all.
In fact, it’s a scam.
It’s not. Trump IS the Executive Branch who can fire anyone who works for him for any reason. And in Comey’s case, he plenty of just cause to do so.
Mueller needs to be questioned about U1. Have John Huber attend Mueller’s white house visit and proceed to ask the tough entrapment questions we know exist.

Huber is an Obama-appointed Democrat. Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows said that Huber is a Rosenstein tactic to further delay the release of information.

The fact is that as president, Trump has the authority to completely shut down any FBI investigation. For proof, just look at what Obama did with Fast & Furious or the IRS scandals.
