David Egan, a 16 year-old from Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia was beaten so badly in the locker room that his nose was dangling from his face. The Blaze reported: It was all over a pair of missing tennis shoes. A 24-year-old man punched a man in the nose in a possible “knockout” attack in lower Manhattan Wednesday, and was caught minutes later, police said. Laval Woods of Harlem is charged with felony assault in the 2 p.m. incident for allegedly sneaking up behind the victim, who is 74, on Fulton St. and hitting him. DENVER - Police are warning the public after three separate, random attacks occurred within 45 minutes in downtown Denver early New Year's Day. Police said a total of four people were assaulted. A family of thieves targeted a Toy R Us store in South Florida with children playing a role in the brazen theft. A mother, father and their seven kids all descended upon the store in Boca Raton, but it wasn't to pick out holiday gifts, but rather steal from the store. Police in Clearwater, Fla., on Thursday announced the arrest of a 16-year-old suspected of stabbing a man to death because he “had a hard day” and “just wanted to kill the first person he saw,” WFTS-TV reports. Mychal King admitted to killing 22-year-old Jason Taylor Paul for no reason on the night of January 6, according to police. Paul was stabbed multiple times while riding his bike home from work. Elton Taylor, 50, is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Police say it happened Monday night at the restaurant on Guadalupe near 32nd Street. Employees say Taylor threw a rock at the window outside then walked in and demanded money. Workers ran out the back door and called police. Officers found Taylor inside. Taylor told police he was feeling homicidal. He's now in jail on a $60,000 bond.

An arbitrator on Wednesday ruled in favor of a former Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue captain who was demoted after he posted comments to Facebook about Trayvon Martin following the teenager's shooting death.
