WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — The White House criticized French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in 2012 for publishing cartoons mocking the Prophet Muhammad. Then White House Press Secretary Jay Carney questioned the magazine’s judgment after publishing images of Muhammad naked. “We are aware that a French magazine published cartoons featuring a figure resembling the Prophet Muhammad, and obviously we have questions about the judgment of publishing something like this,” Carney told reporters in September 2012. Carney stated that the images would be “deeply offensive to many and have the potential to be inflammatory.”

April’s issue of MAD magazine will examine just why individual strands of President Obama’s hair decided to turn gray. The parody illustration — which will be included in the magazine’s upcoming issue due out on newsstands April 19 — is titled, “A Strand-by-Strand Examination of Obama’s Gray Hairs.” The graphic was authored by Desmond Devlin and illustrated by Sam Sisco. Click the image above to enlarge. Below is just a small sampling of some of the “strand-by-strand” analysis of each of Obama’s gray hairs:     Hair #9804 — Why It Turned Gray: As a Constitutional scholar, he knows that his numerous violations of the Constitution...

The Trump – Russia Steele dossier that the FBI used to spy on the Trump campaign and Presidency via Carter Page appears doctored. Irrefutable evidence uncovered shows the original documents provided to the FBI were doctored. The fake Trump – Russia dossier that Obama’s corrupt FBI and DOJ used to obtain the Carter Page FISA warrant appear doctored. Internet sleuths have uncovered material differences in the Steele dossier. The dossier itself was multiple pages long in various sections (see dossier here). One section in general indicates the document was edited.

Trump’s order effectively canceled a policy, signed by President Barack Obama in July 2016, requiring U.S. officials to release “an unclassified summary of the number of strikes undertaken by the United States government outside areas of active hostilities,” as well as a related civilian casualty report by May 1 each year. “This is a shameful decision that will shroud this administration’s actions in even more secrecy with little accountability for its victims," Daphne Eviatar, Amnesty International USA's director of security with human rights, said in a statement. “The public deserves to know how many civilians are killed by U.S. actions....

President Donald Trump revoked a requirement that U.S. intelligence officials publicly report the number of civilians killed in drone strikes and other attacks on terrorist targets outside of war zones. Trump formally ended the requirement with an executive order on Wednesday, months after signaling such a move. The administration last year ignored a May deadline for an annual accounting of civilian and enemy casualties required under an order signed in 2016 by then-President Barack Obama. The order was part of an accountability effort to minimize civilian deaths from drone strikes. The order signed by Trump revokes the requirement that the...

Reading aloud a letter addressed to her supervisors about retaliation she faced after reporting sexual misconduct within SEIU, Njoki Woods, a 42-year-old African American single mother of 4, begins to cry. Prior to joining the staff at SEIU United Healthcare West in 2015, Woods had spent a decade organizing her fellow co-workers as a certified nursing assistant and unit secretary at Riverside Community Hospital in Southern California. After leading a successful effort as a rank and file member to organize residual workers at nearby St. Mary’s hospital, Woods was offered a staff job in May of 2015. “I was excited....

WASHINGTON (AP) — One by one, the Republican senators floated their ideas. They were trying to find a way out of a seemingly impossible dilemma: how to support President Donald Trump's U.S.-Mexico border wall without approving the national emergency declaration he invoked to build it. And one by one, during a private lunchtime meeting that ran hot at times, they found no easy answers. As a deadline for voting looms, it's increasingly clear that Republican senators are deeply uncomfortable with Trump's use of executive power to build the wall and desperate to devise a way around the vote. Senators know...
  • Oil prices rise to nearly 92 dollars

World oil prices rose on Friday as the dollar fell against the euro amid improving demand for crude, analysts said. Brent North Sea crude for delivery in February climbed 29 cents to 91.89 dollars a barrel in London trade. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for January delivery, gained 16 cents to 87.86 dollars. The dollar fell against the euro on Friday as positive German economic data and EU efforts to safeguard the single currency helped to offset a huge ratings downgrade for Ireland and more Spanish debt problems. A weaker dollar makes crude priced in dollars cheaper for...

A US Air Force officer has defected to Iran and shared information that could cause "serious damage" to America's national security, officials have revealed. The former Air Force intelligence specialist was charged with espionage and was accused of working for Iran, according to an unsealed federal indictment. The announcement arrived after Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Demers and other senior officials held a call with reporters to discuss what they called “a national security related action involving Iran”. Mr Demers was joined by US Attorney for Washington, Jessie Liu, FBI Executive Assistant Director for National Security Jay Tabb,...

In June, the Trump administration instituted new rules that would allow small businesses and individuals to access health insurance through what the president called “ association health plans.” This would permit certain businesses and the self-employed to band together, even across state lines, to provide coverage for members outside of Obamacare’s strict rules. It turns out association health plans have quickly become a solution to many Americans’ coverage problems, are more affordable than Obamacare, and are helping many get the care they need. “It's time to acknowledge that critics may have misjudged one of the Trump administration's signature health-care policies...

Former President Barack Obama on Monday endorsed dozens of Democrats in races across the country, including liberal darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in her New York House race. Obama had left Ocasio-Cortez off his initial round of 81 endorsements over the summer, prompting speculation over why the ex-president had seemingly snubbed the Democratic socialist candidate who defeated House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley, D-N.Y., in the primary and whose big-government views align with those of Sen. Bernie Sanders. However, on Monday, Obama included her name on the list of 260 endorsed candidates for governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House and state legislatures.

Back in 2015, the National Labor Relations Board under Barack Obama essentially redefined the word “employer” when talking about franchise agreements by altering definitions in what’s known as the joint employer standard. At the time, I looked over the final changes and simply concluded, “this is going to be bad.”And it was bad. By allowing labor unions to hold franchisers like McDonald’s responsible for labor practices of their franchisees, despite having no direct control over those policies, they opened the door to all manner of lawsuits, government fines, and other mischiefs. Analysts at the time predicted that it would...

Actress Kate Hudson recently revealed that she is raising her daughter "genderless" until her child decides how she wants to identify. "It doesn’t really change my approach, but there’s definitely a difference. I think you just raise your kids individually regardless — like a genderless [approach]" Hudson, an Oscar-nominated actress said in an interview with AOL.com last week, when asked if raising a girl will change her parenting style. Hudson is also a mom of two boys. "We still don’t know what she's going to identify as," she said of her baby girl, Rani Rose, who was born in October....

This is what Obama is doing to American towns and communities with his Muslim migrant policies. I’ve written a great deal about the five-year-old who was raped by three Muslim migrant boys in Twin Falls. Now here is yet another case of sex assault by a Muslim migrant in the same small city. A Muslim Twin Falls man arrested over the weekend and charged with sexually assaulting a mentally retarded woman was quoted by local media in June as representative of Muslims opposing “bad things” and bemoaning the fact that the “picture of Muslims is getting worse.” As reported by...

A federal judge has raised speculation that Hillary Rodham Clinton and her State Department “colluded” to keep her missing emails secret from the public and courts, an escalation of scrutiny into Obama-era scandal. Senior District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth in a new memo also called the Clinton email affair “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency.” "Lamberth ruled: … the Court ORDERS the parties to meet and confer to plan discovery into (a) whether Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email while Secretary of State was an intentional attempt to evade FOIA; (b) whether the State Department’s...

The day after the 2016 election for president, General Motors announced it was laying off another 2,000 workers in plants in Ohio and Michigan, two states that gave President-elect Donald Trump a major victory on Tuesday. GM said the layoffs will affect the third shifts in the plants in Lordstown, Ohio, and Lansing, Michigan, which build the low-selling cars sold under the Chevrolet and Cadillac brand names. “The Lordstown plant builds the compact Chevrolet Cruze, whose U.S. sales through October were down 20%,” Fortune magazine reported. “The Lansing Grand River plant builds the Cadillac ATS and CTS, whose sales were...

When General Motors announced it was cutting up to 14,000 jobs and idling five automotive plants, it justified the massive cuts by citing long-term savings. The cuts would free up $6 billion in cash, for a net savings of $4.5 billion in cash by 2020. The move will "make General Motors more agile, resilient and profitable" while the economy's still revving, CEO Mary Barra told investors Monday. Wall Street seemed to believe her, with GM's stock rising nearly 5 percent and one analyst on the call congratulating her "on getting in front of the curve here." But GM hasn't exactly...
