  • Memo to George Will, Bill Kristol, and All GOP ‘Never-Trumpers’: Good Riddance!

    Mediaite ^ | June 27, 2016 | by Matt Schneider
If for some reason, though, Kristol and Will believe Trump poses such a unique threat to America and to the Republican party’s legacy, then one final and admittedly simple point should have put them at ease long ago. Trump is not running for dictator, but instead for President of a country with a strong system of separation of powers and checks and balances in place. The Republican party that Will foolishly and haphazardly abandoned will, at all times, be in Congress to reign in any of Trump’s outlandish proposals. Therefore, all “Never-Trumpers” should take a deep breath and realize that...
  • A majority of millennials now reject capitalism, poll shows

In an apparent rejection of the basic principles of the U.S. economy, a new poll shows that most young people do not support capitalism. The Harvard University survey, which polled young adults between ages 18 and 29, found that 51 percent of respondents do not support capitalism. Just 42 percent said they support it. It isn't clear that the young people in the poll would prefer some alternative system, though. Just 33 percent said they supported socialism. The survey had a margin of error of 2.4 percentage points. The results of the survey are difficult to interpret, pollsters noted. Capitalism...

Go ahead, Hillary: make our day . . . In the wake of Elizabeth Warren’s joint appearance with Clinton in Ohio yesterday, today’s Morning Joe panel went gaga pver Warren, promoting her for Hillary’s VP pick. Joe Scarborough proclaimed that Warren “is Led Zeppelin” for the way she fills a stage. Mika Brzezinksi, long a big Warren booster, suggested that because Hillary wants to win, she will put Warren on the ticket. Scarborough went so far as to declare that any Hillary VP pick other than Warren would “look like a dud.” View the video here.

Donald Trump’s lawyer accused Hillary Clinton of murdering an ambassador and selling uranium to Russia through her “faux charity” in a post to Twitter Tuesday morning. Michael Cohen, executive vice president of the Trump Organization and special counsel to the Manhattan billionaire, tweeted that a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows Trump leading Clinton on the issue of national security and on the question of who voters find more “honest and straightforward.” Along with his message, Cohen attached a meme featuring a photo of Clinton that he wrote “says it all.”

The U.S. military response was perplexingly inadequate Sept. 11, 2012, the night Americans were attacked by Islamist terrorists in Benghazi, Libya. That’s one overarching conclusion reached by two leading Republicans on the House Select Committee on Benghazi after an investigation lasting a year and a half. “Until now the administration has led us to believe the military did not have assets, men, or machines close enough or ready enough to arrive in Benghazi in time to save lives,” Reps. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas, write. “An asset that could have made a difference would have been armed drones....
  • FBI didn’t inform some Americans they were on ISIS kill list

The FBI did not alert numerous Americans that they were placed on secret Islamic State kill lists or notify their local police about the potential dangers, a lapse in the government’s efforts to combat the terrorist group’s evolving strategy to target everyday citizens. To date, the terror group that goes by the acronym ISIS has published on encrypted web sites several hit lists naming more than 15,000 people it would like to see killed by sleeper cells or lone wolves in New York, Texas, Florida and California. The lists aren’t public but Circa News obtained copies of some and made...
  • Clinton Refugee Plan Could Bring In 620,000 Refugees In 1st Term At Lifetime Cost over $400 Billion

    06/27/2016 8:42:47 PM PDT · by Red Steel · 45 replies
WASHINGTON— An analysis by the Subcommittee on Immigration and The National Interest finds the refugee plan of presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton could cost hundreds of billions of dollars. Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has announced her desire to admit at least 65,000 refugees from Syria – on top of the existing refugee flow already entering the United States. What Clinton has not explained, however, is that in addition to the clear national security implications related to accepting more refugees, there are massive financial costs that would be borne by federal, state, and local governments.‎ Assuming Clinton's desire to bring...

Once upon a time, Democrats would sit-in to press for civil rights. Today, they sit-in to take civil rights away. How else to describe the goal of last week's 24-hour sit-in by House Democrats? They took to the floor Wednesday demanding a vote on gun control legislation in the wake of last week's terrorist attack at a gay nightclub in Orlando. Gun ownership is a right. Due process of law is a right. The government needs to meet a very high threshold before denying citizens either one. Rep. John Lewis led the protest, which devolved into screaming matches early Thursday....

If you think "Robot Rubio" faded away after Marco's painful debate in New Hampshire, think again. The Carlos Beruff Senate campaign has resurrected that image of Marco Rubio as a talking points repeater in a new digital ad featuring clips of newly minted Senate candidate Rubio repeatedly declining to make an "unequival" statement promising to fill out a full second term rather than run again for president.
  • Hillary: Abortion Is A ‘Constitutional Right,’ Unsure About Second Amendment

    The Daily Caller ^ | 06/10/2016 | Steve Guest
Hillary Clinton has no problem calling abortion a “constitutional right,” but when it comes to the Second Amendment, she has refused to take a position. On Friday, Clinton thanked Planned Parenthood for providing abortions when she said that it was a “constitutional right” for women to get an abortion. However, last Sunday, Clinton refused to say whether or not the right to bear arms was a constitutional right. Instead, Clinton criticized late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. “I think that for most of our history there was a nuanced reading of the Second Amendment until the decision by the late...

After the Orlando attack, Obama ranted that it did not matter what we called Islamic terrorism. “What exactly would using this label accomplish? What exactly would it change? Would it make ISIS less committed to trying to kill Americans? Would it bring in more allies? Is there a military strategy that is served by this? The answer is none of the above. Calling a threat by a different name does not make it go away. This is a political distraction.”

In May, under pressure from the news media, Donald Trump made good on a pledge he made four months earlier: He gave $1 million to a nonprofit group helping veterans’ families. Before that, however, when was the last time that Trump gave any of his own money to a charity? If Trump stands by his promises, such donations should be occurring all the time. In the past 15 years, Trump has promised to donate earnings from a wide variety of his money-making enterprises: “The Apprentice.” Trump Vodka. Trump University. A book. Another book. If he honored all those pledges, Trump’s...

San Francisco has the unfortunate honor of appearing in a new propaganda video for the Islamic State released Sunday, no doubt to coincide with the city’s massive Pride celebration, since persecution of LGBT people is a hallmark of deranged fundamentalists. Several alleged terrorists appear on screen to praise Omar Mateen, the Orlando gay nightclub shooter, and Larossi Abballa, the man who attacked a French police officer and his family June 13, the day after the Orlando shooting. The trio reportedly encourages more attacks in the U.S. and Europe, and this is when the footage of San Francisco starts to roll...

An influential veterans group is blasting some of their former brass for taking positions that many feel are a violation of their oaths to protect the Constitution. The Special Forces Association forcefully rebuked calls for more gun control from both former CIA director and CENTCOM commander David Petraeus and retired Army general Stanley McChrystal. SFA is a 52 year old national organization composed of members who once served in the U.S. Special Forces. The organization drew up a membership resolution at their annual convention in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, confirming prior statements of continued support of the U.S. “Constitution and...

  • Actually, Elizabeth Warren is a terrible candidate

Enthusiasm for Warren is artificially amplified by a sympathetic media echo chamber. This phenomenon is not unlike Huntsman ’12… (SNIP) I know what you’re thinking: Warren beat Brown. Scott Brown out-campaigned Warren in MA Senate ’12– and would have won, were it not for 3 factors out of his control… (SNIP) Despite Obama’s landslide victory (61-38), Warren won by a narrow margin: 53-47, meaning a significant number of Obama voters defected to Brown. (SNIP) That cycle, many Democrat Senate candidates– running in much less favorable territory– won by greater margins: √ Tom Carper 66.4% √ Sheldon Whitehouse 64.8% √ Joe...

If Americans were shocked by the recent terrorist massacre in Orlando committed by Omar Mateen in the name of ISIS and other Islamist jihadis, they should be even more alarmed by the Obama administration’s response, which once again sought to obfuscate the role of Islamist ideology in motivating that terrorist attack -- the largest on U.S. soil since 9/11 In spite of Islamists having established an unparalleled record of terrorism -- some 20,000 assaults globally in the name of Islam since 9/11 – U.S. law enforcement, intelligence and national armed forces have for many years been operating partially blindfolded with...

Ted Cruz and John Kasich have a message for Donald J. Trump: They don’t care if they are not invited to speak at his convention. As Mr. Trump tries to plan a convention that will run as smoothly as possible, he said in an interview with The New York Times last week that he would not invite either Mr. Cruz or Mr. Kasich, both former rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, to speak at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland unless they endorsed him. That is fine, both said on Monday. A spokeswoman for Mr. Cruz, Catherine Frazier, said the...

As both parties rapidly approach their respective nominating conventions, it’s clear that both parties are not unified. The Republican Party still has a choice in Cleveland. Will the party choose established Republican principles or their “presumptive” candidate who has the necessary delegates but wants to do this campaign his way? In response to House Speaker Paul Ryan’s continued call for Trump to support conservative principles in the party plank, Donald Trump suggests that the GOP leaders “have to get a lot tougher and be quiet. Just please be quiet, don’t talk…. We have to have our Republicans either stick together...
