Special Forces Association Rips Patraeus, McCrystal For Gun Control Betrayal

An influential veterans group is blasting some of their former brass for taking positions that many feel are a violation of their oaths to protect the Constitution.

The Special Forces Association forcefully rebuked calls for more gun control from both former CIA director and CENTCOM commander David Petraeus and retired Army general Stanley McChrystal. SFA is a 52 year old national organization composed of members who once served in the U.S. Special Forces.

The organization drew up a membership resolution at their annual convention in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, confirming prior statements of continued support of the U.S. “Constitution and all of its amendments, realizing that only the existence of the Second Amendment guarantees the freedom of the American people and that the Bill of Rights was written to delineate and restrict the power of government and not to restrict the powers and rights of the people or states.”

Good on SFA. As I recall, when my dad swore me in, there were no exceptions to what I "felt" were defendable and not. All in assclowns. You have violated the oath.

It gladdens me to see so many previous apolitical and apathetic folks realize fully and completely that military brass are as a whole just big doosh bags.

They see the citizenry as children that need to be guided, controlled, and punished. Liars, perfumed princes, and REMFs is what they are.

Are there any real leaders left in the military or have they all been obama-purged?

The following excerpt has been taken from this location.

http://www.cfr.org/americas/north-america/p33536

A new CFR-sponsored Independent Task Force report, North America: Time for a New Focus, asserts that elevating and prioritizing the U.S.-Canada-Mexico relationship offers the best opportunity for strengthening the United States and its place in the world.

“It is time to put North America at the forefront of U.S. policy,” the report says. “The development and implementation of a strategy for U.S. economic, energy, security, environmental, and societal cooperation with its two neighbors can strengthen the United States at home and enhance its influence abroad.”

Chaired by David H. Petraeus, retired U.S. Army general and chairman of the KKR Global Institute, and Robert B. Zoellick, former president of the World Bank Group and chairman of Goldman Sachs’s International Advisors, the Task Force is composed of a diverse and distinguished group of experts that includes former government officials, scholars, and others. The project is directed by CFR Senior Fellow for Latin America Studies Shannon K. O’Neil.

“Are there any real leaders left in the military or have they all been obama-purged?”

One can never be sure of anything but I image there are a few who are hunkered down waiting for the tide to turn.
And turn it will.
The only questions are when and how.

When the time is right, a few good officers will emerge and tackle the seemingly impossible job of returning our military to it’s former glory.

Call me crazy.
Call me deluded.
Call me everything but a child and God.
I don’t care.
I have faith that a few good men will step forward when they are needed.
When we once again have a leader worthy of following.

The brass thinks society should be managed like they manage their soldiers.

For years they put them down and controled how they kept weapons and they are shocked the citizenry which is supposed to he served by them and controling them should be able to also handle such weapons.

Change in keeping their status quo of power, unhappy to see soldiers leaving the military and their authority to shoot guns on their own. We can see why they hate the VA as it competes with their ability to retain soldiers for themselves.

They have forgotten that oath they took to defend the constitution. Here’s to hoping that General Mattis has not forgotten that oath. I don’t think he has...

Thank God patriotism is not entirely dead.

That ridiculous rule that sews military mouths shut against treasonous tyrannical policy should work both ways.

The brass gets to speak out loud and clear against the Second Amendment. It is high time for the branch brass to do the same and DEFEND it.

I am sure there are plenty of “retired” brass that would have no problem coming back in for the purpose of taking out the trash and rebuilding our military into what it once was, leadership wise.

The difference between a Troop and a Pentagon chair polisher.

Rank and file policemen, by and large, support the Second Amendment, while the Chiefs of Police attack it.

It’s all about political aspirations at pension time, and that all-important appeal to the Left.

After President Obama threatened wide-ranging “executive actions” a month after the Sandy Hook massacre, more than 1,100 Green Berets wrote him a public letter that outlined their position, and gently reminded the President that their duty was to defending the Constitution against all enemies, and that they owed no allegiance to any particular President.

It was not lost on Mr. Obama that the Green Berets specialize in fomenting insurrections and overthrowing governments, and the First Golfer has confined himself to making anti-gun speeches ever since.

I love it , now do it

Petreus should have faced a Courts Martial for adultery when still on active duty. Yes is is against the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Oh but then again he is a Flag Officer. Just like the civilian world; laws don’t apply to the privileged class.
