CHARLOTTE -- It wasn’t a typical Sunday for members of the Antioch Road to Glory International Ministries in Charlotte. The predominately African-American church held a “Day of Endorsement” for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Lafonda Jackson has attended the church for almost three decades and says most members support the effort. “It’s not about upsetting anyone. It’s not about choosing sides. It’s about change. In the church right now, we have full support; no one has been asked to vote or swing one way or the other,” said Jackson. “It is completely up to every individual in here, and there’s...

A new Emerson College Polling Society poll has good news for North Carolina Republicans after several polls put Democrats in the lead here. The survey of 800 likely voters found GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump with 45 percent support to 43 percent support for Democrat Hillary Clinton. In the U.S. Senate race, Republican incumbent Sen. Richard Burr had 45 percent, with Democrat Deborah Ross receiving 41 percent. Burr’s lead is barely outside the poll’s 3.4 percent margin of error. The margin also means the presidential race is statistically tied in North Carolina. Other recent polls have given a narrow lead...

You will not see this reported by the Democrat, puppet media. The American Renewal Project (ARP) is very serious about seeing that Donald Trump is elected our next president. The ARP’s leader, David Lane, reports raising $10 million in just the first week of the Project’s effort to get this job done. The Evangelical community across America has a very clear preference for the team of Trump and his running mate Mike Pence, the governor of Indiana who is a member of their community. Lane wants to harness that power to elect these men. From the earliest days of this...

Donald Trump's campaign is planning its biggest ad buy to date — upward of $10 million on commercials airing over the next week or so. The campaign is expects the ads to air as soon as Monday in nine swing states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Florida, where the campaign has already been on the air, along with New Hampshire, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado and Nevada. 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney lost eight of those nine states. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has so far been badly outspent by his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, and groups supporting her....

Police allegedly shot dead a deaf man outside his front door as he tried to communicate with them in sign language. Officers in North Carolina had attempted to pull over 29-year-old Daniel Harris last Thursday for speeding, according to NBC. But instead of slowing down, Mr Harris continued on his way home. One witness reported Mr Harris was then shot and killed "almost immediately" after exiting his vehicle". The witness said it appeared the victim had attempted to communicate with an officer via sign language when he was fired on outside of his home.

Is this a measure of enthusiasm for Donald Trump, or the effectiveness of the RNC’s extensive investment in ground operations? Despite polling that suggests — at the moment — that Republicans will experience a wipeout in swing states in the presidential election, voter registration data shows the GOP gaining momentum. In key swing states, Republican registrations and party-switching has outpaced Democrats, raising questions about enthusiasm and turnout models: Trump’s poll numbers remain dire, but he can point to at least one ray of hope for a turnaround: Republicans have continued gaining ground in recent months in voter registration in Florida,...

Police say Saunders tried to pull Harris over for a speeding violation on Interstate 485 at around 6.15pm, but the driver led authorities on a brief pursuit before stopping. Officials said that's when the driver got out of his car and an encounter took...

Charlotte, NC — A community and family is mourning the loss of Daniel Kevin Harris, whose life was taken this week by a State Trooper who apparently fears sign language. For an unknown reason, Harris did not stop and, instead, drove to his home. CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- An 18-year-old Charlotte, N.C., college student who was ejected from Thursday's Donald Trump rally says he went from avid backer to disillusioned opponent after Trump's security accused him of being a known protester. Jake Anantha, who registered as a Republican and cast his first primary vote for Trump, was wearing a Trump shirt when police removed him from the Charlotte Convention Center before the rally began. He and his father, Ramesh Anantha, say they believe he was profiled because of his dark skin. "It's unbelievably ironic," said Ramesh Anantha, whose parents emigrated from India. He says his...

Donald Trump cleared up one thing in his speech in Charlotte, North Carolina, last night: he is running to win. Throughout this very odd election cycle, some pundits have periodically suggested that Trump wasn't serious in his run for the presidency. First, it was said that he got into the race simply to garner publicity, to burnish his "brand." He himself, it was said, was surprised that he did so well in the primaries. When it became clear that he was poised to win the nomination, the story changed slightly. Now, he was said to be playing the buffoon because...

Thinking of retiring to western N.C. I'd love a log cabin in the mountains with modern amenities, but don't want to be too far from Dr's, grocery shopping, hospitals, etc., so a good mtn view would suffice. I've been looking north, west & east of Asheville and also in the Lenoir area and further south of Lenoir. I'm watching the weather, and reading N.C newspapers and it seems like flooding can be a real problem. Any suggestions/warnings from North Carolinians, especially regarding areas to avoid, would be helpful. Thanks

Donald Trump accused Hillary Clinton of seeing “communities of color only as votes, and not as human beings.” “Her bigotry is amazing,” he said, speaking Thursday night from prepared remarks to supporters in Charlotte, North Carolina. “It is only votes that she sees. She has been there forever and look at where you are.” “If African-Americans give Donald Trump a chance by giving me their vote, the result for them will be amazing,” he added. “Look how badly things are going under decades of Democratic leadership.” “What do you have to lose by trying something new? Watch. I will fix...

As he continues to slip in the polls, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is poised to begin airing his first television ads of the general election starting Friday in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, according to a campaign adviser. The upcoming ad buy was flagged with about 50 members of Congress in a conference call Tuesday afternoon with Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort and two other staffers. Members were told the campaign would begin buying advertising more widely after Sept. 1. Mr. Trump, who frequently boasts that he beat several primary challengers who spent far more money than...

Double-digit Obamacare premium hikes projected in 2017 may bode in Donald Trump’s favor, as several swing states are being impacted by double-digit increases under the law and consumers are expected to see the hikes around Nov. 1 — one week before heading to the polls. Trump has promised to repeal and replace Obamacare, but Hillary Clinton has vowed to make the Obamacare exchanges work. Some say the way she would do that is through raising taxes.
