The movement demanding legal recognition for same-sex marriage has made a radical and profoundly uncharitable assumption. It is this: Adult homosexuals need and have a greater right to same-sex marriage than babies have to their mothers. You cannot simultaneously claim babies have a right to their mothers and two men have a right to marry each other. Nor, of course, can you simultaneously claim babies have right to their fathers and two women have a right to marry each other. Notably, advocates of same-sex marriage do not argue that babies have a either a right or a need for a...

On his Thursday show, talk radio host Mark Levin argued that the leadership of the Republican Party must be replaced if conservatives are to prevent the country from declining. He declared, “If we do not clean out the current leadership in the Republican Party ... the country’s going to continue to unravel, the Republican Party too.” He blasted “neo-statists” who claim to be conservatives, but “would have conservatives abandon the high ground of the Founding principles for the quicksand of a soft tyranny.” And named Michael Gerson, Karl Rove, Jeb Bush, George Bush, John Boehner, and Mitch McConnell as “non-conservatives...

House Republican leaders are frustrated that they had to pull their $659 million border bill on Thursday, after Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) convinced enough Republicans to stand up for American workers and vote against a bill that did not explicitly prevent President Barack Obama from unilaterally granting work permits to millions of illegal immigrants. Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), who will become the new House Majority Whip on Friday, saw this vote as his first test. Acccording to National Journal, "Scalise's new whip team was privately blaming" Sessions' opposition for "causing last-second problems leading up the planned vote." Scalise was reportedly...

WASHINGTON — The chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee said Thursday that the likelihood Republicans win back the Senate is better today than when he assumed leadership in 2012. During a luncheon with reporters, Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said: “Back in the very beginning, I would’ve told you we had six good candidates in six states.” Now, Moran said, the number of races where Republicans could pick up seats from Democrats has expanded to somewhere in the range of 12 to 14 states. Republicans need to flip six states to win...

Obama and the U.N.’s Alternate UniversePosted By Bruce Thornton On August 1, 2014 @ 12:55 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage | 3 Comments Barack Obama has managed to push American foreign policy into an alternate universe in which everything the human race has learned over the past 2500 years about human nature, aggression, and its deterrence has been stood on its head. He is not solely to blame for this. For 150 years the West had indulged the illusion that human nature is progressing away from our violent past toward a world of reason in which conflict can be resolved and negotiated...

Defund the UNRWAPosted By Daniel Greenfield On August 1, 2014 @ 12:50 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage | 5 Comments The UNRWA is on the front lines of the Hamas War in Gaza. In the headlines, its schools are forever being fired on or found to be stockpiling rockets. If individual Gazans are being used as human shields, the UNRWA often seems as if it is one big organizational human shield. But the UNRWA isn’t Hamas’ human shield. The UNRWA is Hamas. The “UN†part of the UNRWA, the blue logos and symbols, fool us into thinking of it as an international...

America Stands with Hamas against IsraelPosted By Ronn Torossian On August 1, 2014 @ 12:10 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage | 2 Comments The Obama Administration stands with Hamas – an organization which is a designated foreign terrorist organization in America, Canada, the UK and most other civilized countries. Despicable and simply amazing that America is standing with an organization whose leadership and people is anti-American. Shameful, horrible, awful conduct. Clearly, the alliances in the Middle East have changed – Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Israel stand against Muslim extremist fundamentalists – and lining up on the other side is...

Thursday on MSNBC's "Now with Alex Warner," Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) blasted Republican leadership for letting “Speaker Cruz” "call the shots," which caused a delay of the August recess, as Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) battled over the bills details. Van Hollen said, “It was Senator Cruz calling the shots, and that’s why people around here are calling him ‘Speaker Cruz’ today." He added, "It means when Speaker Boehner says he’s going to get something done from now on, he’d better be checking with Senator Cruz to see if he’s gonna get the votes...

There were two things Jesse Ventura was never supposed to win: the 1998 Minnesota Governor’s race, and his just-ended trial seeking a big payday from a hero’s widow. But he was indeed a one-term Governor of an actual state, and now he has prevailed in another improbable arena— a courtroom where he asserted that one of America’s most admired war heroes lied about him on purpose. The $1.8 million dollar judgment from a ten-person jury voting 8-2 is a direct raid on the family budget of Chris Kyle’s widow Taya and their two children. The first half-million will be covered...
