According to Twitter and Google, an NBC journalist reported that he or she had personally witnessed an Israeli drone attack and fire on a hospital in Gaza. The eye witness report was at first included in this NBC News article, and read, "a NBC News journalist witnessed the attack on the hospital and said it had been fired by an Israeli drone." Since that report was published, though, the accusation has been scrubbed entirely from the article. The only evidence of the NBC journalist's "eyewitness" accusation is the apparent insertion of this sentence:

Both ABC World News with Diane Sawyer and NBC Nightly News failed to mention a new, troubling report from the Census Bureau on Thursday night that sales of new homes decreased by 8.1% in June and that May’s originally reported double-digit increase was revised lower, from almost 19% to only 8%. The CBS Evening News did cover this story, but it only was in the form of a 12-second news brief from anchor Scott Pelley. Pelley grimly reported that: “Today's report on the housing market is raising concerns about the economic recovery. Sales of new homes dropped sharply last month,...

The Parents Television Council is slamming NBC's Today for airing the first trailer for the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey during its 8 a.m. hour. ... "We're talking about basically the equivalent of a dime-store trashy romance novel [in the Fifty Shades of Grey book]. Essentially, what Today's doing is they're promoting what people refer to as mommy porn. That's what it boils down to. Today is helping to promote mommy porn. That's a pretty poor judgment on their part in terms of their attitude towards their audience." ... The Parents Television Council is not the only organization...

The New York Post’s Page Six reports today that David Gregory could be replaced as moderator of Meet the Press shortly after the November election. Rumors have been swirling for months about Gregory’s future at Meet the Press, as the ratings have sunk by 45 percent since he took over from the late Tim Russert in 2008. Gregory has turned Russert’s decade-long run at number one into a perennial third-place finish among Sunday morning talk shows. The Post reported that while NBC News President Deborah Turness is publicly supportive of Gregory, she is seriously concerned about the ratings problems. The...

"We regret to report that David Gregory will be leaving Meet The Press in order to spend more time with his family." Or perhaps it will be, "David Gregory is leaving Meet The Press in order to pursue other projects." Those are a couple of polite corporate ways to announce the firing of the Meet The Press host with the terrible ratings. According to the New York Post's Page Six, the replacement of David Gregory could be happening right after the midterm elections. No surprise there given the fact that under Gregory, Meet The Press has fallen to last place...

Following the stunning revelation last month that NBC News had paid special correspondent Chelsea Clinton a starting annual salary of $600,000, on Wednesday, the New York Times reported that the former first daughter was also getting paid $75,000 per appearance by the Clinton Foundation. Conflict of interest anyone? Clinton spokesman Kamyl Bazbaz assured the Times that "100 percent of the fees are remitted directly to the foundation." So the money goes back into the foundation run by her and her family. A calculation by Business Insider concluded that given Chelsea's limited air time on NBC, she made over $26,000 per...

On Wednesday morning, NBC’s Today went beyond avoiding using the term “illegal” to describe the immigrants being bussed from Texas into California. The Peacock network has created a Twitter handle to show its support for the illegal immigrants. Following a report by NBC’s Miguel Almaguer, Today anchor Matt Lauer triumphantly declared: “We want you to weigh in on this. Share your comments using the #RefugeeRiders.” On Tuesday, July 1, the CBS Evening News was the only network to use the term “illegal” when describing the protests in Murrieta, California where the residents have objected to immigrants being bused into their...

Life in modern America does not get more cruelly perverse than this: one major reason Judge Debra Nelson threw out George Zimmerman’s libel suit against NBC on Monday was because of Zimmerman’s public pursuit of racial justice. Yes, that George Zimmerman, the same “child killer” who shot black teen Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, in February 2012. In the way of background, Zimmerman had sued NBC for manipulating the substance of his famous call to a police dispatcher to make him sound like a racist. In firing two employees and apologizing publicly, NBC all but admitted its guilt. What saved...

SANFORD -- Judge Debra Nelson has ruled in favor of NBC in a defamation lawsuit filed by George Zimmerman. Zimmerman filed the lawsuit in December 2012, saying NBC aired an edited version of the call he made to 911 right before his confrontation with 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. News is leaking out from Hollywood executives in-the-know that the Obama White House had been leaning on, pressuring executives at NBC for the last two years to replace Jay Leno because the comedian was criticizing President Obama every night. Obama didn't like it and considered it a racist attack on him.

NBC should be held liable for the editing of George Zimmerman’s 911 call in ways that made Zimmerman appear to be a racist. In a grotesque and apparently malicious act of misreporting, NBC, in multiple broadcasts, aired doctored, heavily edited versions of the 911 call, misleadingly moving around Zimmerman’s words like a Rubik’s Cube. The result gave a false impression of the tragic incident in which Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, and it exposed Zimmerman to the hatred, scorn and contempt of millions of viewers. Zimmerman is suing NBC and the network is fighting back. But the network’s...

After NBC refused to air an ad for new movie “Obvious Child” because it included the word “abortion,” the network is facing heat from Planned Parenthood and Lena Dunham. The “Girls” star tweeted, “NBC refuses to air the trailer for Obvious Child because it mentions abortion and that’s not okay. #StoptheStigma.”

SANFORD – A judge this morning threw out part of George Zimmerman's libel suit against NBC Universal and held out the prospect that she may throw out the whole thing. Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson tossed the allegations related to one of five broadcasts and said she needs to do more homework before deciding about the others. Zimmerman is suing the media company, alleging that it falsely portrayed him as a racist.

Former first child (now with child) Chelsea Clinton had a $600,000 annual contract at NBC News, Politico reports, where she served as a "special correspondent" and was deemed to be mostly useless, if not "one of the most boring people of her era." That deal is over now, but Clinton is still being paid by the network (which has also hired Luke Russert, Meghan McCain, and Jenna Bush ... ) on a month-to-month basis, with complicating factors including her pregnancy and the good odds her mother is running for president. -snip- That work included little of note, either journalistically or...

On Friday morning, Politico published on the previously unknown and "closely held" details of former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton's contract with NBC News. According to the story, Clinton was given an annual salary of $600,000 when she joined NBC News as a "special correspondent" in November 2011. Based on these figures, Clinton has earned about $26,724 for each minute she subsequently appeared on air.

Today, we learned that Chelsea Clinton has been taking home an annual salary of $600,000 for her work as a “special correspondent” for NBC News. In case you had no idea NBC News was employing the Clinton scion, here is an example of her “work”:(Video at source.) On the one hand, $600,000 seems like a fair salary for an only child who has to support her struggling parents. On the other, Chelsea’s annual income is equivalent to what Hillary Clinton receives for three hours of work on the public speaking circuit. It also pales in comparison to Bill Clinton’s nine-figure...

Hillary Clinton may have left the White House "dead broke" in her own words over a decade ago, but the same can hardly be said about her daughter, Chelsea, who as Politico revealed today, was being paid an annual salary of $600,000 at NBC News before switching to a month-to-month contract earlier this year.As a reminder, the younger Clinton, who previously worked as an analyst at $12 billion hedge fund Avenue Capital in a quid-pro-quo which its owner Marc Lasry, a close friend of Bill Clinton, had hoped would bring him a fast track appointment to the French ambassador...
