"An old rat trap video of mine became a subject of a murder investigation and was presented on NBC Dateline. The only problem was they never got my permission to use my copyrighted content."

Well, duh. NBC is a dinosaur “news” source. If it didn’t steal material or make it up, where would it get its programming???
Can’t be “fair use” since the topic of the “news” story wasn’t an analysis of the purloined YouTube clip. It’s clearly just blatant theft. Should send them a bill for the licensing of the copyright content they already agreed to use. Name your price.
Just curious how the rat-trap video ties into a murder investigation?
I key my YouTube stuff, usually with some motion effects to hopefully not make it worth stealing. What little I put up usually is also sent to stock agencies. YouTube stuff is also rendered in a lower resolution.

Interesting that they deliberately cropped out his watermarks. That’s pretty blatant.
Pathetic as well.
Rooster Cogburn: Mr. Rat, I have a writ here that says you are to stop using TAOFLEDERMAUS video forthwith. Now, It’s a rat writ, writ for a rat, and this is lawful service of same! [to Freepers] See? NBC doesn’t pay any attention to him. [shoots the rat] You can’t serve papers on a rat, baby freeper. You either kill him or let him be.
