According to a new study by the Pew Forum, Protestants are, for the first time in history, not a majority in the United States of America. I don’t think that’s anything for evangelical Protestants, or anyone else, to panic about. Several years ago, I pointed out here that studies were showing a declining Protestant majority, and projections were being made for this very reality. Now, the surveys says we have a 48 percent plurality of Protestants. I wasn’t frantic about that several years ago, and I’m still not. When working toward our “God and country” badges, my childhood Boy Scout...

A popular Christian blogger says he's voting for Mitt Romney and is challenging notions that Christians should sit out this year's election or that they shouldn't vote for the GOP presidential candidate because he's a Mormon. In a series of blog posts, Frank Turk listed several reasons on Pyromaniacs why he's voting for and endorsing a "Mormon son of a Mormon who was not very conservative in Massachusetts and has not demonstrated very safely-right ideology in governing in the past." One of those reasons is abortion. Turk recognized that there are some Christians who will either try to vote for...

Marc Lamont HIll recently listed (in his opinion) 15 most overrated white people.… Referring to it as tongue and cheek on his twitter page…Although; I think he just used that as a cover just in case things got ugly. So since the likelihood of any white person daring to reply with their own black list is very slim, in our politically correct atmosphere. And would be most certainly called the dreaded “R” word (racist). I thought I would compile my own list of the 15 most overrated black people. Thurgood Marshall…As a Supreme Court Justice…. He is widely known as...

A devastated Mayor Thomas M. Menino is vowing to fire Boston Transportation Department Executive Assistant James Mansfield, who was arrested yesterday on a charge of possessing child pornography. Mansfield, 47, of Charlestown, has been working for the city since 1984 and last year made $104,172, according to payroll records. He is on unpaid leave pending a termination hearing next week, Menino said. Police say Mansfield engaged in “graphically sexual chat” and exchanged pictures of boys “in various stages of undress.” A search of his Charlestown home “uncovered evidence on his personal computer,” police said.

Last Monday night was Chick-fil-A’s annual Daddy Daughter Date Night. I took my 7 year old daughter to enjoy the chicken, waffle fries, and time together. When we arrived at our local Chick-fil-A, the tables were set with fresh flowers, pink and blue place mats, pink table cloths, and red heart-shaped balloons. The place mats were printed with conversation starters such as, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and “Describe your favorite family vacation.” Chick-fil-A’s desire to promote strong families as one of its core values is unusual in a day of what seems to be...

GRANBY, Quebec, October 12, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Quebec pro-life conference was interrupted last weekend when about a dozen pro-abortion protesters stormed the evangelical church in which it was held and began chanting blasphemous slogans in front of the barricaded doors of the conference hall. Police had to bring in reinforcements to remove the protesters. “The church door was locked to keep the protesters out, but as one of the conference participant left the building during the morning session, the protesters took advantage of the open door and snuck in,” said Georges Buscemi, president of Quebec Life Coalition, to LifeSiteNews.com....

People who live as the opposite sex in Ontario can now change their gender on their birth certificates without first undergoing sex-change surgery. New rules that have recently come into effect allow transgender people born in the province to apply to have the document amended by submitting a letter from a practicing physician or a psychologist. It stems from a ruling by the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario this April in the case of a born-male woman known as XY. The tribunal found the legislation requiring proof of “transsexual surgery” to alter birth documents to be discriminatory.

QUEBEC, October 9, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Quebec’s newly elected government announced that it plans to table legislation legalizing euthanasia and assisted suicide as early as next spring, even though Canadian federal law prohibits the practice. A spokeswoman for the minority Parti Quebecois government of Premier Pauline Marois said the proposed legislation was part of the party’s election platform and was based on recommendations from the report of the province’s Special Commission on Dying with Dignity. While some media outlets reported that the commission recommended the legalization of assisted suicide in exceptional cases, Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition pointed...

Danville, Ky.At the end of the vice presidential debate Thursday night, Joe Biden and Paul Ryan lobbed charges of extremism at one another on the issue of abortion. "The Democratic party used to say they want [abortion] to be safe, legal, and rare," Ryan said. "Now they support it without restriction and with taxpayer funding, taxpayer funding in Obamacare, taxpayer funding with foreign aid. The vice president himself went to China and said that he sympathized or wouldn’t second-guess their one-child policy of forced abortions and sterilizations. That, to me, is pretty extreme."Biden shot back, saying that Ryan has "argued...

Evangelist Billy Graham told Mitt Romney today that he would do anything he could to help his candidacy. The two met at Graham's North Carolina home. Near the end of thirty minute meeting, Graham led a prayer for the Romneys and said, "I'll do all I can to help you. The Department of Justice is refusing to take action against an Indiana abortion clinic that a pro-life group says is violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by failing to offer its customers wheelchair ramps or parking spaces for the handicapped. Allen County Right to Life executive director Cathie Humbarger wrote a letter to the DOJ in which she said she witnessed multiple instances of women leaving the Fort Wayne Women’s Health Clinic “in apparent discomfort.” Those women, Humbarger wrote, were “unable to walk unassisted after apparent abortion procedures.” “The Department of Justice, led by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, is...

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee insisted in an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV that GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney will be a “pro-life president” and he also predicted that Republicans will step up their campaign in the critical swing state of Ohio in the days leading up to the election. “I do believe that people know that this is not the front and center issue for Mitt Romney, never has been. But they’re comfortable that he really is going to be a pro-life president,” said Huckabee on Wednesday...

Asked by host Neil deGrasse Tyson what he thought about the death penalty and abortion, Maher re-affirmed his support for both, remarking, “The Pope is consistently pro-life, I am consistently pro-death.” Expressing how he was pro-death penalty, Maher said, “my motto is let’s kill the right people.” “I’m pro-choice, I’m for assisted suicide, I’m for regular suicide, I’m for whatever gets the freeway moving – that’s what I’m for,” said Maher, adding, “It’s too crowded, the planet is too crowded and we need to promote death.” Explaining how he knew many people who felt the same, Maher went on to...

I’m beginning to wonder if Mr Romney’s gentle Mormonism won’t let him go in for the kill... ‘Kill’ being the right word... What the Republicans have is a tape made at the time Mr Obama voted repeatedly in the Illinois State Senate to deny rights of basic medical care to any child born alive in a botched abortion. Mr Obama is on tape referring to the victim as ‘a foetus outside the womb.’ [snip]Mr Obama takes the position that, even when a child who is the target of an abortion attempt makes it as far as lying on a table...

The recently re-appointed UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, Navanethem Pillay, has issued a document calling for governments to criminalise organised opposition to abortion by non-governmental groups such as pro-life lobbyists or even family members. The UN Human Rights Council published its “technical guidance” to address maternal mortality and morbidity in July, to “assist policymakers in improving women’s health and rights.” The document starts from the abortion industry’s assertion that the best way to reduce maternal mortality is to introduce legalised abortion and reduce legal and other restrictions on abortion. Under the “rights-based” approach to women’s health care, the document...
