A prominent Black Lives matter activist in St. Louis was arrested in April and faces charges of human trafficking and prostitution against a 17-year-old girl. The activist, Charles Wade, said in a statement that he was helping the girl, who he believed to be 20, obtain temporary housing. Wade runs Operation Help or Hush, a charity that says it provides housing, food assistance and other forms of direct aid to both activists and local residents in general. Conservative news site The Daily Caller appears to have been the first to run a story about his arrest, but copies of the...

Today Donald J. Trump released the much-anticipated list of people he would consider as potential replacements for Justice Scalia at the United States Supreme Court. This list was compiled, first and foremost, based on constitutional principles, with input from highly respected conservatives and Republican Party leadership. Mr. Trump stated, “Justice Scalia was a remarkable person and a brilliant Supreme Court Justice. His career was defined by his reverence for the Constitution and his legacy of protecting Americans’ most cherished freedoms. He was a Justice who did not believe in legislating from the bench and he is a person whom I...

Missouri lawmakers passed a sweeping expansion of gun rights Friday, allowing people to carry concealed guns without needing permits while also expanding their right to stand and fight against perceived threats. The legislation, which goes to Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon, was among the most prominent measures passed by the Republican-led Legislature on the final day of its annual session. Under the measure, most people could carry concealed guns, even if they haven’t gone through the training now required to get a permit. The legislation would also expand the state’s “castle doctrine” by allowing invited guests such as baby sitters to...

Does the University of Missouri have a death wish? In the wake of capitulating to race grievance demonstrators, Mizzou is already experiencing a decline in applications so severe that it is closing four dorms and a drop in donations that is causing a financial crisis. Although the faculty no longer includes Melissa “I need some muscle” Click, apparently race-obsessed leftists still occupy positions of power. The university’s Faculty Council Committee on Race Relations is digging an even deeper hole for the school. Carly Hoilman of TheBlaze reports: The University of Missouri’s Faculty Council Committee on Race Relations released a video...

As the debate over which bathroom an individual should use based on their sexual identity heats up, we are witnessing the ignorant and brash nature of state enforcement of these edicts come to a head. It is not only a distraction and a means for the state to get involved in your bowel movements, but it paints the trans and gay community in a negative light by asserting there is some sexual stigma involved in relieving oneÂ’s bladder. The end result of such obstinate legalese clouding the minds of the public is going to be state violence initiated against individuals...

A 9-year-old started his own business in order to make a very special purchase. Tristin Jacobson opened up a lemonade stand to raise money to pay for his very own adoption, according to the Springfield News Leader. Four years ago, Jacobson's biological mother dumped him on the doorstep of a Missouri shelter on a cold January day. Donnie Davis got a call about Tristin, and she's been taking care of him ever since. Jacobson has always wanted Davis to adopt him, but she couldn't afford the legal fees. So this past week he opened up a lemonade stand to raise...

Melissa Click, the former University of Missouri assistant professor who was fired after she tried to block a student journalist from covering a campus protest, suggested in a recent interview that her public termination was a matter of “racial politics.” “This is all about racial politics,” she told The Chronicle of Higher Education in an interview published Sunday. “I’m a white lady. I’m an easy target.” Ms. Click said Missouri’s Board of Curators fired her to send a message that the university and the state wouldn’t tolerate “black people standing up to white people,” the Chronicle reported. Ms. Click didn’t...

The Missouri Legislature has passed a budget that would eliminate taxpayer funding and reimbursements for abortion facilities, depriving Planned Parenthood in the state of an estimated $380,000. The move means foregoing $8 million the state would have received from the federal government, but the budget replaces that amount with Missouri’s own revenue. The money will now instead go, Senate Budget Chairman Kurt Schaefer explains, “to rural health clinics, [Federally Qualified Health Centers], and county health departments, of which there are over 580 across the state,” which he says provide all the same non-abortion services as Planned Parenthood does. Representative Judy...

Missouri lawmakers just sent their governor a budget that would take away hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars from abortion groups in the state. Missourinet reports the legislators approved the budget on Thursday with a provision to give up $8 million in federal dollars, part of which would have gone to Planned Parenthood abortion clinics. Instead, the state budgeted money to support community health centers that don’t do abortions, according to the report. The budget also prohibits any taxpayer dollars through Medicaid from going to groups that perform elective abortions. The Planned Parenthood abortion business runs 13 facilities in Missouri...

The Coalition of Graduate Workers claimed an overwhelming victory Tuesday when 84 percent of graduate assistant ballots supported forming a union at the University of Missouri. About 30 percent of the nearly 2,600 eligible graduate students who hold assistantships voted Monday and Tuesday, coalition Co-chairman Connor Lewis said. The next step is to organize union officials and formally ask the university to engage in collective bargaining, he said. “It meets all the requirements by federal and state standards,” he said. “It was an impressive turnout given that there were last-minute attempts at voter intimidation.” Lewis said he was referring to...
