The uproar over President Obama's "Latte Salute" as he exited Marine One Tuesday in New York has reached critical mass with social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook ablaze with indignation and outrage over his disrespectful and half-hearted gesture to the two Marines standing at attention for their Commander-In-Chief. Interestingly, a YouTube clip from the 1992 film Scent of a Woman has begun to go viral on Facebook.

Readers around the world have thrilled to Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy, and Killing Jesus--riveting works of nonfiction that journey into the heart of the most famous murders in history. Now from Bill O’Reilly, anchor of The O’Reilly Factor, comes the most epic book of all in this multimillion-selling series: Killing Patton. General George S. Patton, Jr. died under mysterious circumstances in the months following the end of World War II. For almost seventy years, there has been suspicion that his death was not an accident--and may very well have been an act of assassination. Killing Patton takes readers inside the...

The bad news first. The People’s Republic of China now believes it can successfully prevent the United States from intervening in the event of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan or some other military assault by Beijing. Now the good news. China is wrong—and for one major reason. It apparently disregards the decisive power of America’s nuclear-powered submarines. Moreover, for economic and demographic reasons Beijing has a narrow historical window in which to use its military to alter the world’s power structure. If China doesn’t make a major military move in the next couple decades, it probably never will. The U.S....

This really happened. Today. This was actually posted by The White House on Instagram.

Evidence released last year confirms that a French fighter pilot once “killed” an American F-22 Raptor stealth fighter in mock combat. Although not unprecedented, the simulated shoot-down is still a big deal for a couple reasons. For one, the Lockheed Martin-made F-22 is supposed to be the most fearsome warplane in history, a quarter-billion-dollar-per-plane technological marvel that flies higher and faster than its opponents while avoiding detection by radar. The Pentagon is counting on a tiny number of the pricey Raptors — slightly more than 180 — to ward off potentially much larger numbers of enemy planes for the foreseeable future. Every mock dogfight...

Full title: 'Faith Warriors:' Video of Marines Delivering Powerful Rendition of Christian Worship Song 'Days of Elijah' Goes Viral A powerful video of nearly 500 U.S. Marines at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in California declaring "there is no God like Jehovah" in an inspirational rendition of the Christian worship song "Days of Elijah," is taking the Internet by storm. Merrie Pardee Baldwin, the Christian volunteer who first posted the video of the worshipful Marines to her Facebook page Sunday, told The Christian Post in an interview Friday that she is hoping the video inspires Americans to pray for...

The blowback against the NFL over the recent domestic violence incidents -- a pattern, if you will -- is growing and growing rather quickly. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported on a new sponsorship problem and the White House issued a stern edict to the NFL Friday morning about getting "a handle on" the problem. Enter another branch of government: the military. According to CNN, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is asking his staff for "detailed information about the US military's relationships" with the NFL.

Eventually, our long national nightmare that has been the Barack Obama Double-Feature, will thankfully come to a close. Somebody may write a muscial parody of this administration. I can think of at least one song that would fit, how about you? #. Using the 10cc song "I'm Not In Love" Obama speaks on the phone to an ISIS warlord; I'm not at War!, so don't forget it, it's just a silly phase I'm going through. And just because, I bomb you up, Don't get me wrong, You needn't feel afraid. I'm not at War, No no. Just Because... ***My apologies...

First Manassas. In the 90-degree heat, the Union fords Bull Run and then busts through line after line of Confederate troops, aiming for the railroad to Richmond. Under the grassy shield of Henry House Hill’s western slope, the Confederates scramble for reinforcements. Somebody overhears General Bee comparing Colonel Jackson to a “stone wall.” This either compliments Jackson’s steadfastness or jeers the corporal’s languor. No one will ever know for certain, since Bee is shot dead shortly after the quip leaves his lips.

I really need FReeper help if you don't mind. Son has a talent show coming up and we thought "Old Army Hat" would be great. Great vocal range for him because he is in JHS. The song is especially poignant for him because an older soldier who did work on our home took a liking to him and gave him his army cap. I burst with tears. He's going to wear the hat for the performance. Also, his GF (WW2 Pacific) went on Honor Flight and son still remembers it. He wants to honor them both at his performance. Does...

It was a late March day when notice arrived that Fifi’s services would be required. She would have two days to prepare — two days to travel from her London apartment to Liverpool, two days to memorize the physical details of her “prey.” His name was Quinaux. He was 28. Black hair. Brown eyes. Dimpled chin. He would be waiting at the State Cafe. And she was to charm every secret she could out of him. Of course, Quinaux didn’t know this. He was training to be a British spy and, according to a letters dated March 22, 1943, he...

Swamp training will never be the same for Sgt. Jesse Phillips, a mortarman for the U.S. Marines, who recently participated in his first-ever alligator hunt and helped bag a Mississippi state record. The massive gator weighed 792 pounds and measured 13 1/2 feet from nose to tail. It was the largest male gator bagged in the state, with a belly girth of nearly 70 inches.

The U.S. is planning to train veterans to become solar panel installers in the next six years, the White House said Thursday. The jobs training program is among a host of initiatives the White House says will cut carbon dioxide emissions by more than 300 million tons through 2030, plus save billions of dollars on energy bills for homeowners and businesses. It will launch this fall at one or more military bases and train a total of at least 50,000, including veterans. …

"Underway on nuclear power", radioed the skipper of USS Nautilus in 1955, after taking history's first nuclear-powered attack submarine to sea for the first time. Nautilus's maiden cruise left an indelible imprint on the navy. Her success, cheered on by the likes of Admiral Hyman Rickover, the godfather of naval nuclear propulsion, helped encode the supremacy of atomic power in the submarine force's cultural DNA.

This is one of Chef Robert Irvine's best episodes of "Restaurant Impossible." Its hard not to get choked up over him saving the "Green Beret Club" in Ft. Bragg, Georgia. I have a lot of respect for those who serve our country and those who feed them. Not to be missed!

A dear church friend (and veteran) was in Washington this week on an Honor Flight to see the WWII memorial and other sights and had a mini-stroke, a second one in his long life. Praise God his escort was a EMT, and they were minutes away from a very good hospital, but prayers, please. He will have to do speech therapy but all limbs are good. I know this will shake him because he has recently recovered from the last one, but again, praise God that he was in exactly the right place to have it treated immediately.
