The self-important Boston Globe ran an editorial that is a microcosm of how the Left manages to be so consistently wrong on so many substantive issues. The piece had to do with the supposed wrongheadedness of Republican House Speaker John Boehner. It seems that according to the Globe, Boehner has committed some kind of treasonous act by inviting Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, to address a joint session of Congress without asking permission from their boss President Barack Obama. The writer moans that such an undercutting of Obama’s authority will damage the delicate negotiations Obama is in with the Iranians;...

Bill de Blasio on Blizzard Bust: ‘Better Safe Than Sorry’ By Jillian Jorgensen | 01/27/15 8:29am After a much-hyped blizzard-that-wasn’t, Mayor Bill de Blasio said this morning that he was glad the city had prepared for a worse storm and that New York would be getting back to normal quickly. “We thought we were going to get something much bigger,” Mr. de Blasio told CNN “New Day” anchor Chris Cuomo (who happens to be the brother of Gov. Andrew Cuomo). Forecasts of two or even three feet of snow led Mr. de Blasio and Mr. Cuomo to essentially shut the...

Just days after the Obama White House accused House Speaker John Boehner of “breaking protocol” by inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress, a team of up to five Obama campaign operatives has reportedly arrived in Israel to lead a campaign to defeat the Israeli Prime Minister in upcoming national elections scheduled for March 17. The anti-Netanyahu, left wing Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports a group called “One Voice,” reportedly funded by American donors, is paying for the Obama campaign team. That group is reportedly being lead by Obama’s 2012 field director Jeremy Bird. As...

By now I’m sure most of you have read or heard of Byron York’s hit piece on Governor Palin’s speech in Des Moines this Saturday. (I won’t link to it because it’s gotten enough traffic as is.) I’ve learned one way you can tell if a journalist is being fair in an article is by whom they quote. Byron York quotes one Iowan by the name of Sam Clovis, who trashes Palin’s speech along with other nameless "activists".You may think, "Wow, by listening to the words of these so-called activists and the journalists who picked up their thoughts, everyone there...

A day after it was announced that the U.S. Department of Justice is unlikely to pursue a civil rights case against ex-Ferguson, Mo., Officer Darren Wilson, a Black conservative sheriff David Clarke (pictured) has applauded the decision and slammed civil rights leaders in a Fox News interview, according Mediaite. RELATED: Report: No Federal Charges To Be Filed Against Darren Wilson In Death Of Michael Brown Milwaukee County Sheriff Clarke told “Fox & Friends” Thursday that the decision not to pursue a civil rights case against Wilson was vindication for the officer and an indictment against “race hustlers” like U.S. Attorney...

CARSON CITY — A retirement system official said Thursday a report showing that some public employees who retire collect more in pension benefits than they did while working was based on less than 2 percent of beneficiaries. The analysis also does not reflect changes to the retirement plan made in 1985 that reduced pension payouts, said Tina Leiss, executive officer of the system. The conclusions in the report issued by the Nevada Policy Research Institute, a conservative think tank based in Las Vegas, do not account for the vast majority of the members and retirees of the Public Employees’ Retirement...

It’s not enough for the Nevada Legislature to change retirement benefits for future public employees. The state’s pension plan provides perks and payouts so absurdly generous that some of them need to be dialed back right away. Taxpayers are on the hook for billions of dollars worth of unfunded pension benefits, when they can barely afford to save for retirement themselves. It’s bad enough that they must subsidize benefits they’ll never have. But it’s outrageous that taxpayers subsidize the cost of providing government workers, who already retire far earlier than their private-sector peers, with even earlier retirements. In Sunday’s Review-Journal,...

CARSON CITY — Most people who make the decision to retire have to figure out how to live on fewer dollars, but that is not always the case with Nevada state and local government employees, a new analysis has found. The analysis by the conservative think tank Nevada Policy Research Institute, using newly available public data provided by the Public Employees Retirement System, shows that many public sector retirees actually receive a raise upon retirement. The analysis, which looked at 10 of Nevada’s largest government agencies, including the state of Nevada, Las Vegas, Clark County and the Clark County School...

What a sweet story. A local struggling mom writes a letter to the President and she gets not only a lunch meeting with him but later gets featured in his State Of The Union speech. A very touching story about a regular woman...who "coincidentally" was a Democrat operative. However, the Minneapolis Star Tribune very "mysteriously" left this very important fact out of the story about her written by Allison Sherry. This prominent background fact was not exactly hidden from view. Ms Sherry could have googled the woman in question, Rebekah Erler, and found a Reuters artcle from last June that...

Just saw a local Miami tv station using video from the government web site with an "interview" of Obama, where he spews some crap about how his goal is to outline for the nation how he is going to make sure things are fair, now that we have "made it through the crisis". I nearly spit my coffee out. We are not out of a crisis. My point is that these kind of videos are NOT a proper use for news....and I expect that if a REPUBLICAN president put out this type of "interview", the media would ignore it....on the...

Trevor Loudon wrote an article that each and every one of us should read and take note of: Intifada USA? American Radicals Build Ties to “Palestinian” Revolutionaries. I agree completely with Trevor when he says that 2015 could usher in chaos, unrest and violence as we have not seen in our lifetime. The Communists are now joining hands in America with the Radical Islamists, forming an American Intifada – an uprising, resistance, revolt. They are using racism as the building blocks and their hate for America as the glue to forward massive havoc and violence in our streets. The riots...

There might not be too many malls in Florida that ban permitted concealed handguns, but the Melbourne Square Mall where there was an attack that left one victim dead and one wounded was another gun-free zone. The Melbourne Square Mall is “a Simon Mall.” Yet, none of the news media have mentioned this point.

GOP ignores veto threats, presses attacks on Obama on immigration, pipeline, Wall StreetWASHINGTON (AP) -- Defiant congressional Republicans attacked President Barack Obama's agenda from all sides Tuesday, ignoring veto threats and pushing bills to uproot his policies on immigration and Wall Street, force approval of energy pipeline legislation he opposes and make him justify any new federal rules before he makes them. Obama invited his antagonists to the White House for their first face-to-face meeting since the new Republican-controlled Congress convened. But their show of cordiality for the cameras did little to mask the partisan hostilities between Capitol Hill and...

Whether Muhammad is a prophet is a matter of faith, not fact.In all the coverage of the barbaric terror attacks in Paris Wednesday, one fact of the story kept getting repeated in a curious way on network news, cable news, and in most mainstream publications. They kept saying, “Charlie Hebdo published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.” Do you see it? You probably have become so used to it you don’t even notice anymore. But it’s strange, isn’t it? Why on earth do the news media continue to proclaim Muhammad as a prophet? Isn’t “prophet,” in this context, a subjective modifier?...
