The father of a Perry Hall High School student struck a teacher with a baseball bat after police were made aware of a series of texts between the teacher, a 42-year-old man, and a 15-year-old student, Baltimore County police said. Police said an officer of the White Marsh Precinct read over dozens of texts that “described an emotional relationship that seemed inappropriate for a teacher and student,” according to a release from the Baltimore County Police Department. The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma ruled June 4 that members of the Catholic Benefits Association (CBA), including the Archdiocese of Baltimore and Catholic Review Media (CRMedia), are exempt from the Affordable Care Act’s mandate requiring all employers, including most religious employers, to provide insurance coverage for contraception, sterilization and abortion-causing drugs. WILMINGTON, Del. - (AP) -- Highway engineers say a crucial bridge on the Eastern Seaboard's interstate highway system could imperil drivers if traffic is allowed back on it. The bridge, near Wilmington, Delaware, was closed Monday when its support pillars were found to be tilting. The Interstate 495 bridge won't reopen anytime soon, highway officials said Tuesday, and the 90,000 vehicles that cross it every day are being diverted onto the main north highway, I-95, further overloading one of the most crowded arteries in America.
