Minutes after the border fence, senators also voted to weaken current law that requires the government to have biometric checks such as fingerprints or eye-scans for every visitor to the U.S. — a recommendation of the 9/11 commission that looked into the terrorist attacks on Washington and New York. Senators on Tuesday rejected building the 700 miles of double-tier border fencing Congress authorized just seven years ago, with a majority of the Senate saying they didn’t want to delay granting illegal immigrants legal status while the fence was being built. The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core...

by John HillStand With Arizona We've all seen it on TV. Endlessly. Marco Rubio, in an ad from a fake-"conservative" organization, confidently insisting that his amnesty bill would provide the "toughest" border enforcement "in the history of the United States...possibly the world", as the narrator growls about "border security on steroids!" Unless you have been living under a rock the past two months, you know full well the ad is a lie, and Rubio has utterly destroyed his own reputation with repeated, absurd lies about the 'Gang of Eight' bill. Today, with his own vote Rubio officially made a liar...

The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core of the immigration deal is holding. The vote broke mostly along party lines, though five Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio and the rest of the bill’s authors, voted against the fence, and two Democrats voted for it.
  • Trump: Delegates Last-Ditch Effort To Deny him GOP Nomination a Hoax

The media has been fighting Donald Trump tooth and nail for the last 7-8 months. Some Republican candidates decided they would give false accounts that Trump was eating up great media time while others weren't getting anything, but when the truth really came out, you saw how the media had been planning to destroy Trump all along. The Washington Post dropped a bombshell story on Friday that mentioned how dozens of anti-Trump delegates were going to walk away from Trump at the GOP convention. Instead of Trump supporters fearing this action, many got angry or mad. They wanted to know what...

Donald Trump on Saturday accused Jeb Bush of mounting a convention coup against him, after reports that Republican delegates who don't personally support Trump are looking for ways to avoid voting for him this summer. "By the way, Jeb is working on the movement, just so you understand," Trump said to supporters at a rally in Las Vegas. "Jeb is one of the people that's working — and the other one should be obvious," he said, though he didn't elaborate further. Earlier at the rally, however, Trump echoed the Republican National Committee and said the reports were a media hoax....

A coalition of Republican delegates is mounting a last-ditch effort to block Donald Trump from obtaining the GOP nomination by pushing for a "conscience clause" that would allow delegates to vote against the presumptive nominee. Kendal Unruh, a Colorado delegate, organized a call with dozens of other delegates Thursday night to discuss ways to block Trump at the convention. The group, Unruh says, marks the coalescing of disparate "pockets of resistance" -- including backers of Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich -- which had been opposing Trump with little success.
  • Rep. Jolly drops out of Florida Senate race as Rubio speculation mounts

One of the top Florida Republicans running for Marco Rubio's Senate seat announced Friday he's dropping out of the race, fueling speculation that Rubio himself is preparing to reverse course and seek re-election to the seat. Rep. David Jolly, who indicated earlier this week he was getting ready to bow out, confirmed Friday he will seek re-election to the House. "It's clear the opportunity to change Washington, to do right by my community, is to simply ask for the opportunity to keep doing my job," he said in a statement. The move comes as party elders increase pressure on Rubio...

Marco Rubio (R) is "saying he's getting in" the Senate race. Jolly added during an appearance on CNN's "New Day" that he plans to tell his constituents at noon on Friday whether he'll stay in the Senate race himself or seek reelection to the House. A spokesperson for Jolly later clarified that he "has no actual knowledge of a Rubio decision." An aide indicated Friday that Rubio still plans to spend...

Sen. Marco Rubio said Monday that seeking another term as a senator from Florida has not been part of his family's plan, but the mass shooting Sunday in Orlando has given him pause about his future. "My family and I will be praying about all this, and we'll see what I need to do next with my life with regards to how I can best serve," the former presidential candidate told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. 50 people including the gunman were killed in the shooting at a gay nightclub, Pulse, in Orlando early Sunday morning. Hewitt asked if Rubio...

A flyer circulated before Donald Trump’s Friday rally in Richmond, Virginia, called for violence and declared “passive resistance … has no effect on heartless racists.” Under a headline of “Self-Defense,” the flyer reads: We fully support your right to self-defense, we do not expect you to take a beating by Trump goons in order to “look good.” Your safety is important, protect yourself. Fascism wants us to peacefully resist while it steamrolls us. We take our inspiration from the workers of Spain who rose up by the millions to fight fascism when it came to their country. Passive resistance works...

Extra, Extra! Republican Paul Ryan is an advocate for political correctness! That’s right. In commenting about Trump’s remarks concerning Judge Curiel, Ryan told George Stephanopoulos: “That comment is beyond the pale. That’s not political correctness. Suggesting that a person can’t do their job because of their race or ethnicity… that’s not a politically incorrect thing to do; that’s just a wrong thing to say.” For decades, conservatives and other decent, law-abiding Americans, have labored under the yoke of political correctness. They have been publicly shunned, lost jobs, had careers ruined, and been kicked out of universities. Why? Simply for exercising...

Donald Trump on Saturday went after one of his favorite targets, tearing into Jeb Bush in his home state of Florida. During a rally in Tampa, Fla. Trump mocked the former Florida governor’s failed presidential run. “You know the way guys were falling off the ends? I said ‘Jeb, you’re not gonna be here much longer, you’re pretty far down there Jeb-ah. You’re not going to be here much longer, Jeb. You gotta get tougher, Jeb.’ ” “I don’t think he’s going to endorse me, do you folks?” Trump asked the crowd, before dismissively adding: “Who the hell cares?”

No one exposes the real political danger behind hidden ideological alignments as good as Donald Trump. The beating of the Trump supporters in San Jose last night, and the responses, highlight a case in point. What do Nikki Haley, Hillary Clinton, Ted Cruz, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, and Brad Thor have in common? They are all on the same page blaming Donald Trump for not accepting the physical beatings that come with expressions of free speech and challenging the orthodoxy of their political views. Each of these voices in their own way telling Trump, and by extension his supporters,...

Did Newt Gingrich, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell do their La Raza homework before calling Trump a bigot? It appears they may not have. Or worse, they’ve done their homework, but chose not to factor in the nature of the organization named La Raza. Jerome R. Corsi, in WND posted an article entitled “Judge, Law Firm Bringing Trump U Case Both Tied To La Raza.” It begins: “The federal judge presiding over the Trump University class action lawsuit is a member of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, a group that while not a branch of the National Council...

“If somebody in Washington is holding their breath, waiting to give their endorsement on an apology, they’re going to be waiting a long time,” he said. “There are so many people in this country who are just sick and tired of our elected officials being apologetic for everything.” When Trump spoke to the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference last month, it sparked hope among Washington Republicans of a long-awaited pivot to the general election and a more presidential demeanor. Those hopes, however, were dashed by Trump’s assertion last week that U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over civil...

On May 23rd, we here at Mediaite ran this headline: Lindsey Graham Caves, Quietly Tells Fellow Republicans to Get Behind Trump 14 days later, Graham has not only done a complete 180, but he is telling other Republicans to un-endorse Donald Trump. Yes, just so we’re clear, Graham went from “hell no” on Trump to “eh maybe” on Trump to “okay let’s do this” on Trump to “ABANDON THIS SINKING SHIP WOMEN AND CHILDREN AND DONORS FIRST.” Graham spoke to The New York Times and made it clear he’s telling Republicans to get out while they still can: Senator Lindsey...

Before the lynching of The Donald proceeds, what exactly was it he said about that Hispanic judge? Stated succinctly, Donald Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over a class-action suit against Trump University, is sticking it to him. And the judge's bias is likely rooted in the fact that he is of Mexican descent. Can there be any defense of a statement so horrific? Just this. First, Trump has a perfect right to be angry about the judge's rulings and to question his motives. Second, there are grounds for believing Trump is right. On May 27,...

Marco Rubio said weeks ago he has serious concerns about Donald Trump, but he’s supporting the GOP nominee and he won’t be “taking shots” at who voters chose. But that doesn’t mean he’s stopped swiping at Trump altogether. In an interview with WFTV, Rubio smacked down Trump’s attacks against a Hispanic judge, saying, “I think it’s wrong. He needs to stop saying it. That man is an American… I don’t think it reflects well on the Republican party.” But while Rubio still plans on supporting Trump, he’s making it clear that he “warned this is what was gonna happen” if...

Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) accused President Obama and Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton of giving Palestinians a pass on anti-Semitism, incitement, and terrorism in a new statement. Israel has suffered a wave of Palestinian terrorism over the past week, fueled by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ calls for violence and unrest. “Reminiscent of the days when Yasser Arafat talked peace in English and jihad in Arabic,” Rubio writes, “Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas — a man President Obama regularly hails as a peacemaker — is inciting the bloodshed. ‘Every drop of blood that has been spilled in Jerusalem is holy blood as long as...

Palestinian assailants carried out five stabbing attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank on Saturday, authorities said, as a month-long outburst of violence showed no signs of abating. The unrest came despite new security measures that have placed troops and checkpoints around Palestinian neighborhoods in east Jerusalem.
