If there was ever a time to question Al Gore regarding how Global Warming will affect the USA this year, anytime before April please! Can you imagine if a cable news anchor asked Al Gore how many Tornadoes and Hurricanes we will likely see this spring and summer? Now this is a complicated "Gotcha Question".Would Al Gore say that because of Global Warming we can expect dozens of F-4/F-5 tornadoes and at least 7 Category 4/5 Hurricanes this year?Or will Al Gore claim that because of Global Warming we will only see two to four F-5 Tornadoes and only one major Hurricane slamming...
  • Is misinformation about the climate criminally negligent?

The importance of clearly communicating science to the public should not be underestimated. Accurately understanding our natural environment and sharing that information can be a matter of life or death. When it comes to global warming, much of the public remains in denial about a set of facts that the majority of scientists clearly agree on. With such high stakes, an organised campaign funding misinformation ought to be considered criminally negligent. The earthquake that rocked L'Aquila Italy in 2009 provides an interesting case study of botched communication. This natural disaster left more than 300 people dead and nearly 66,000 people...

Several stunning images captured by a Minnesota photographer illustrate just how cold it is at Lake Superior. The pictures taken by Andrew Krueger showed large sheets of ice piled up along the shore as temperatures remained below freezing this week. Scientists from the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory said ice coverage was at its highest percentage in 35 years, according to USA Today. “Persistent cold temperatures in the Midwest this winter have almost completely frozen over many of the Great Lakes,” the lab reportedly said in a press release.

CINCINNATI -- Fans of Chipotle may soon have to say goodbye to their beloved guacamole, the company said in its latest annual report. The Mexican fast food chain announced in recent Securities and Exchange Commission filings it could temporarily suspend sales of guacamole and some salsas due to an increase in food costs. Those increases are being caused by global warming, the Denver-based chain said.

Washington, D.C. may have the highest number of certified green buildings in the country, but research by Environmental Policy Alliance suggests it might not be doing much good. The free-market group analyzed the first round of energy usage data released by city officials Friday and found that large, privately-owned buildings that received the green energy certification Leadership in Energy Design (LEED) actually use more energy than buildings that didn’t receive this green stamp of approval.LEED is the brainchild of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a private environmental group.

Al Gore has been known for his climate change warnings since the 2006 film “An Inconvenient Truth.” Former vice president Al Gore spoke about climate change Saturday during the Folk Alliance International conference at the Westin Crown Center hotel. But the former vice president, speaking Saturday in Kansas City, cited many more recent examples how heavy use of fossil fuels is contributing to extreme weather events and trends, in his view.

John Kerry slammed “extreme” climate change “deniers” in Indonesia Sunday, calling them members of the “Flat Earth Society.” Mr. Kerry, speaking in Jakarta, demonized those who do not believe in climate change, claiming they were “hijacking the climate conversation” and were being paid by “big companies.” “We should not allow a tiny minority of shoddy scientists and science and extreme ideologues to compete with scientific facts,” he warned. “Nor should we allow any room for those who think that the costs associated with doing the right thing outweigh the benefits.” Mr. Kerry then exclaimed, “The science is unequivocal, and those...

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has told an audience in Jakarta, Indonesia, that climate change is a threat to the entire world. "When I think about the array of global climate, of the global threats, think about this: terrorism, epidemics, poverty, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. All challenges that know no borders. The reality is that climate change ranks right up there with every single one of them." Kerry said the science of climate change is compelling the world to act and that the science is absolutely certain.

An army of emergency crews were gearing up for battle Wednesday with a vicious — and rare — ice storm in Georgia that had already cut off power for thousands of customers and left the streets of Atlanta looking like a sci-fi wasteland. More than 70,000 customers in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and the Carolinas were without power early Wednesday. But Georgia was bearing the brunt of the wicked weather, with nearly 40,000 customers in the dark Wednesday, while emergency planners urged drivers across the state to stay off “deceptively dangerous” roads.

The United States set over 4,000 record low temperatures during the past year, while the artic ice cap has grown by 30% and is now larger than it was in 1990. Ironically, while accepting his Nobel "Pina Colada" Prize in 2007, Al Gore claimed the North Pole would be "ice free" by 2013. Amazingly, he was only off by 920,000 square miles! Apparently Santa Claus burned the memo and bought another diesel Zamboni. Not only does Al suck at climatology, he really sucks at data sets; aka, empirical prognostications. Science fiction theater is a major, no? That's right, kiddies, Global...

DULUTH, Minn. -- A frigid winter is pushing Lake Superior toward a complete ice-over for the first time since 1996, though there's still a ways to go before you can skate from Duluth to the Soo Locks. Lake Superior had at least some ice across an estimated 91 percent of its surface as of Thursday, according to the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory. That compares with the 40-year average annual Lake Superior ice coverage for February of just 30 percent. George Leshkevich has been tracking Great Lakes ice for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory...

Former Vice President Al Gore raised eyebrows last week when he suggested that “fertility management” was the key to fighting global warming and promoting economic development in poor countries. Gore’s comments drew criticism from free-marketeers who said his remarks amount to “eco-imperialism.” “Gore’s agenda for saving the world from global warming has always included population control,” Myron Ebell, director of global warming and international environmental policy at the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Advocating population control specifically for Africa is just another form of imperialism. Gore’s eco-imperialism is uncomfortably close to the original racist goals...

Supporters never gave up explaining on various news programs that the first record cold wave was caused by Global Warming. Now,as we all know by now,"Polar Vortex 2.0" is forecast to actually be either colder,and/or longer than the first one from week of Jan.3.So does anyone expect to hear from Al Roker,Al Gore or even "The Weather Channel"?,Maybe at least once this winter someone will declare that G.W. is a hoax? “This is way overdone,” says meteorologist Joe Bastardi. “The one coming around Jan 25-31 will be much stronger.” Another Arctic blast to hit US next week, shouts the Daily Mail. A new cold-front is expected to hit the East Coast on Thursday. The upcoming front of icy temperatures is expected to bring arctic air to southern Canada and then move into the northern plains of the U.S. before moving to the Midwest and East Coast – each of which is still recovering from last week’s frigid temperatures. Forecasters expect the first stage of the new arctic blast to hit the...

All right stop, collaborate and listen: the universe has chosen in recent weeks to teach everyone a little lesson about the pranks that fate likes to play on we humans. A group of scientists sallied forth into the hinterlands to research climate change, more commonly referred to as global warming, by recreating a 1912 expedition and then comparing findings. The better to show how the ice is melting. But a funny thing happened on the way to the forum: the "missing ice" investigators found ice. Or more accurately, found themselves in ice. Or more humorously, they were hoisted by...
