This invasive nuisance got some lead medicine, courtesy of high tech – a thermal-imaging scope. Brad Korando shared this action-packed video on Facebook. This is a wild hog that paid the ultimate price for gluttony. Sneaking into the woods at night, this hunter was well-armed for this hungry, invasive hog. A thermal-imaging scope caught the fat hog feeding on corn in the crosshairs. Then, one shot rings out, followed by another. A geyser of blood pours from this feral beast, and this guy caught it all on video. Wild hogs are invasive nightmares that cause destruction to both wildlife and...

Police in the US state of Georgia have shot and killed an LGBT student activist, leading to an independent investigation. Police encountered Scout Schultz at a campus in Atlanta after a call about "a person with a knife and a gun" late on Saturday, officials say. Footage has emerged apparently showing Schultz, 21, refusing to obey multiple police commands to drop a knife. Schultz's mother said police should not have used lethal force. In a video filmed by fellow students at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Schultz is heard saying "Shoot me!" while continuing to advance on the officers. One...

Black women in San Francisco are disproportionately arrested compared with their white counterparts, according to a new analysis of state arrest data from the Center on Criminal and Juvenile Justice. Black women represent 5.8% of the city’s female population, but accounted for 45.5% of all female arrests in 2013, according to the report from the nonprofit, which works to reduce incarceration. For arrests related to weapons and narcotics—both felonies—black women made up 77% and 68% of all female arrests, respectively. Black women were arrested "at a per capita rate 13.4 times higher than women of other races," says the report....

Pop superstar Katy Perry, the host of the gala, floated...

Valerie Plame Wilson, the undercover CIA operations officer unmasked in July 2003, wants to buy a controlling share of Twitter. Her reason for doing so is to prevent President Trump from using the social media platform.Plame Wilson was an undercover operative specializing in weapons of mass destruction for the CIA before influential columnist Robert D. Novak exposed her and her husband, Joseph Wilson. Plame Wilson had previously been critical of then President George W. Bush’s statements about Iraq’s purchase of nuclear weapons-grade uranium and accused members of the Bush administration of conspiring to destroy her career by breaking a 1982...

Caitlyn Jenner did not wear a "Make America Great Again" hat Thursday as a show of support for Donald Trump ... it was a mistake tied to golf, a convertible, Starbucks and a purse. Caitlyn tells TMZ she drove from her Malibu home to Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA, in a 1960 Austin-Healey convertible. Before leaving home she realized she needed a hat ... something better than a golf visor to protect her hair. So she rummaged through the 10 hats in her closet and grabbed one without looking at the stitching. She says when she got to...

New York Times reporter Greg Howard wrote a piece titled “Power Play”, accusing white women of racial discrimination for how they fail to acknowledge him as they pass on the street. Writer Greg Howard, of The New York Times, accused all white women of social rudeness towards him personally, as well as other black men, for not stepping aside as they cross each other on the street. Is it possible he’s over thinking it? Via the NY Times: Sometimes they’re buried in their phones. Other times, they’re in pairs and groups, and in conversation. But often, they’re looking ahead, through...

Remember Edgar Whisenant's 88 reasons Why The Rapture Will Be in 1988? Whenever a Christian starts talking about signs and evidence for the nearness of the rapture you can be sure there is someone just aching to bring up this book as the be-all and end-all of the conversation. "People have always tried to predict when Jesus will come back and every time they were wrong." They have a good point and it would be foolish not to address it. You would think that if Whisenant found 88 reasons for the rapture to occur in September 1988, and his...

Hey, y'all! I was banned for being a "never-Trumper" and now I am back. Thank you, Jim. Well, Trump won. I actually voted for him - as I always have (conservative losers VS. leftists) but I doubted his long-term political survival. I was wrong. I do not apologize for my taste but I will admit he was the best candidate. Now, it remains to be seen if he will be what all [C]onservatives want/wish/pray for him to be. Given some of his apparent appointments, I am not too sure. We shall see. If you want to flame me, go ahead....

Free Republic traditionally frowns on vanities. I know, I've been a member here since 1999. I too have had my knuckles cracked by the Moderator's ruler and my posts promptly yanked or locked because I could have easily responded on an existing thread. Vanities crowd out the real news. They're too numerous to count, and most vanities do nothing but stoke the poster's ego (ME! ME! ME! I WANNA BE THE NEXT GEORGE WILL!). And most of them are frankly, quite boring. However, some vanities do serve a legitimate purpose. Breaking news, for example is one. When FReepers hear about...

My involvement with Free Republic began around 2000 when my wife began her vigil around the Texas governor’s mansion in support of GW against the challenge of Al Gore for the presidency. I generally provided the livelihood for the Bat Lady to be able to protest and surround the mansion against the leftists who were kept at bay across the street. While she was registered in order to post after action reports I was a lurker

A Charlotte waitress says she was infuriated and hurt when a group of ladies left a message for her on their bill – taking aim at her sexual orientation. Alexandra Judd works at Zada Janes in Charlotte’s Plaza Midwood. She says a group of patrons she served for lunch Tuesday morning left her a “hateful message” in lieu of a tip. A Bible verse was left on the tip pointing Judd to Leviticus 20:13. “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination,” the King James version of the...
