SIERRA VISTA — Five weeks after filing for bankruptcy, all Hastings locations are set to close by the end of October. The Amarillo, Texas-based entertainment retail chain operates more than 120 stores across the country, including a Sierra Vista location that has been in business for more than 20 years. As of July 13, all stores stopped accepting gift cards and store credit, and following the June 13 Chapter 11 filing in a Delaware federal court, the customer buy-back program was suspended and the video game rental program ended.

Boston police are being warned to check their cars before driving off after a cop's vehicle was tampered with. The officer, whose name is not being released, was driving away from the police department's District 1 station, in central Boston, yesterday when his rear wheel came off. He was not injured in the incident but when the cop took the car to the shop for repairs, a mechanic found the car had been tampered with.  Link to image source On 11 July, an open carrier, Brandon Francis, made a citizens arrest on a hit and run suspect.  Francis had just seen the driver hit a pedestrian and drive away. 9News reports the details of a previous arrest of Alton Sterling that is eerily similar to the incident that ultimately led to his death. Sterling, 37, was recently killed in a shooting involving two Baton Rouge police officers on July 5. It turns out Sterling has struggled with police in the past.
