SIERRA VISTA Five weeks after filing for bankruptcy, all Hastings locations are set to close by the end of October.
The Amarillo, Texas-based entertainment retail chain operates more than 120 stores across the country, including a Sierra Vista location that has been in business for more than 20 years.
As of July 13, all stores stopped accepting gift cards and store credit, and following the June 13 Chapter 11 filing in a Delaware federal court, the customer buy-back program was suspended and the video game rental program ended.
Hastings closes and so does Boot Barn at the Mall.
Too many other options out there to watch..whatever you want to watch. And much cheaper...to do so.
Thanks liberals, progressives, 0bama, Hillary, the democrat party, RINO’s and most importantly the enemedia.
The enemedia ignores just how bad things are out there to help protect their party and ideology.
Are we close to the point of dragging out the news directors of these media outlets and go full tar and feather on them?
With what news has emerged with the DNC/Media email scandal and collaboration, it really needs to happen because they are doing this (the destruction of America) on purpose.

I for one will miss Hastings.
I didn’t realize Hastings was still around. Of course I haven’t bought a CD in 20 years.
You mean a specific Boot Barn location, right? Boot Barn has been doing fairly well, expanding here in the southeast.
The one in the Sierra Vista Mall
If someone told me ten years ago that Amazon and Google would rule the earth, I would have said they were crazy.
What’s the date when all the machines become self aware?
I’m having a senior moment...

I’ll miss Hastings as well. Here in Kerrville they are the only real book store around. I suppose everyone is going to paid digital books on-line but I do like the feel of a good book in my hands. Redbox will be the only way to rent new video releases ... not that there are many i’d want to see these days.
“not that there are many id want to see these days.”
7/11 used to give free redbox rental codes with purchase of a drink, I’d stick it in my wallet then to out and look at the machine to see what was available, I realized I had a wallet full of coupons because there was never anything worth renting (even at the price of free).
We always went to Hastings when we went to Kerrville. We used to stay at "The Inn" and bring back coffee from the coffee shop and sit out on the balcony & watch the sun go down. That was before Jughead when I had a good job & we were working on our future retirement home. Needless to say, we had to sell..
Ever since Hastings moved to where they are now in Kerrville, they drove pretty much every other competing bookstore out of there. When they had the tiny little place over at the mall, it wasn’t too big a deal.
I remember going to that Hastings a few times when stationed at Huachucha.
Too bad

Hastings online store, Gohastings had a lot of really good DVD sales, and I had just purchased a few hard to find ones when they suspended online sales. But I’m pleased to see that they shipped them anyway. A lot of companies would have stuck it to their customers.
An important lesson is that typically, Chapter 11 means reorganization, and Chapter 7 means liquidation. But Hastings major creditor was the Bank of America, and they have enough clout to basically force a Chapter 7 on them, bringing in a couple of liquidation companies to squeeze out every penny as quickly as possible.
About the only upside is that some of the discount retailers that bulk purchase bankruptcy inventory are soon to get flooded with Hastings’ library. This may have a strong enough impact to generally drive down new and used media prices for a while.
At the same time, I wonder how Amazon’s effort to push people onto Amazon Prime is working? I hope it costs them a lot of sales.
There are rumblings that the entire K Mart chain may be liquidating.
Yes, for unclear reasons, a lot of companies are folding up shop.
