On Wednesday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” former Defense Secretary and former CIA Director Leon Panetta, who has endorsed 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris, stated that Harris was in the room when decisions about the Afghanistan withdrawal were made, but she was there “to listen” and doesn’t “bear the same responsibility that the President bears with regards to the final decision.” Co-host Brianna Keilar asked, “So, Harris is going to be giving this interview on the eve of what is the third anniversary of America’s total withdrawal from Afghanistan. You spoke last week at the DNC, forcefully...

During an interview with the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast released on Monday, President Joe Biden said that in his family, “whenever you wanted to speak to your mother and father…no matter what they were doing, they stopped” and listened to them and claimed that “I did the same with my children and they do the same with theirs.” Biden said, “I was raised in a family for real — an extended family, my grandparents as well, where my dad had an expression, family’s the beginning, middle, and end. And there was a rule in the family growing up...

RUSH: To New York City. John, great to have you. I’m glad you waited. How are you doing, sir? CALLER: Okay. I’d like to speak about the pen register on Michael Cohen’s phone. RUSH: Yes, sir. On his office and home and apartment and so forth? Yeah. CALLER: All right. Let me explain about how a pen register works. It’s the same… It is a wiretap. The only thing is the court order doesn’t allow you to listen in. But you can listen in illegally. You can attach a listening device — a phone — and a recording device on...

The Human Tendency Toward Acquired Deafness Msgr. Charles Pope • October 1, 2017 • There was an important passage in the Gospel for Saturday’s Mass (Saturday of the 25th Week of the Year). It displays the human tendency to filter out or ignore what we do not want to hear.Jesus had been casting out demons. We then read,While they were all amazed at his every deed, Jesus said to his disciples, “Pay attention to what I am telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men.” But they did not understand this saying; its meaning...

Russian billionaire Yuri Milner announces most comprehensive hunt for alien life. You could say that the silence has been deafening. Since its beginnings more than half a century ago, the dedicated search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) has failed to detect the presence of alien civilizations. But at London’s Royal Society today (20 July), Russian billionaire Yuri Milner announced a shot in the arm for SETI: a US$100-million decadal project to provide the most comprehensive hunt for alien communications so far. The initiative, called Breakthrough Listen, will see radio telescopes at Green Bank in West Virginia, the Parkes Observatory in Australia, and...

Just prior to the president's ObamaCare pep rally in the White House Rose Garden, Monday morning, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) released the following statement regarding Obamacare's failure to live up to Obama's many promises: Today President Obama will draw the media’s attention to a handful of persons who have applied for Obamacare while ignoring the untold number of Americans who are losing the plans they liked because of Obamacare. Yesterday, Kaiser Health joined numerous other news outlets by confirming a new victim of Obamacare: Americans who are receiving cancellation notices from their insurers due to the Affordable Act. “Health...

In the oft-admired model of a decisive lone warrior, President Obama could have ordered strikes on Syria without asking Congress. Instead, the commander in chief chose to ask lawmakers. At the least, all Americans should now reciprocate. They could suspend judgment and listen to what Mr. Obama has to say in his Tuesday evening address to the nation. In decisions of war, bravery is needed in knowing when to be humble – in listening for one’s biases and evaluating new evidence. “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down...

OAKLAND — Strategically positioned high above the water, in a narrow crawl space between the new Bay Bridge deck and the top of its big pier east of the tower, instruments are listening for the sounds of cracking inside steel anchor rods. Caltrans placed 10 acoustic emission sensors on select rods in early April after some of the massive bolts -- 3 inches in diameter and 17 to 24 feet long -- snapped and triggered widespread worry about the replacement eastern span's seismic safety. The instrument records the energy produced when a crack initiates, spreads or moves within the rod,...

We are all a work in progress. Show more love than judgement: Judge actions one on one in order to show love and respect towards one another. Love changes our enemies and sins of some misdirected believers. Never forget that GOD knows all things and can write all of our sins in the heavens for all people to see the minute we think them. But HE loves us and handles our sins one on one before they are exposed. Let's follow the LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, the son of GOD, and do the same. Show more edification then condenmnation:...

Is There a ‘Spying Device’ in Your Car? Posted on June 14, 2011 at 3:06pm by Buck Sexton The Chinese government is famously good at internal security, and this may be one reason why: spying devices are allegedly hidden in thousands of vehicles. The devices, about the size of a PDA and apparently equipped to record conversations, were first installed as “inspection and quarantine cards” in July 2007 without charge by the Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. They seem to have been placed specifically on dual-plate Chinese-Hong Kong vehicles. Smugglers were among the first to catch on. One of them...

Some may have declared the issue with President Obama’s birth certificate to be “over,” but apparently potential Republican candidate for President Donald Trump didn’t receive the memo. He called into Fox News today and revealed that in his mind at least, “I think I’ve made my decision,” as he prepares multiple visits to the primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. In addition to repeating his claims that President Obama is a “disaster,” he also threw some salt in the eyes of conservative heavy-hitters like Republican Congressman Paul Ryan and Karl Rove.

NEW YORK (AFP) – This could give a whole new meaning to the phrase power dressing. Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created a cloth that can hear and emit noise. The team, led by MIT professor Yoel Fink, has reached "a new milestone on the path to functional fibers: fibers that can detect and produce sound," MIT said in a statement. The development, described in the August issue of Nature Materials, transforms the usual passive nature of textiles into a virtually all-singing, all-dancing version. According to MIT, "applications could include clothes that are themselves sensitive microphones, for...

These are days of thunder and I am seeking those who will thunder for me and with me for I AM a great and mighty God eternal in all things though you do not see or conceive this it is in fact my nature engrained in you . But now I am doing a new thing for " I am parting the waters once again " to bring my children across and into the promised land but this will be done in Spirit and...

FORT HUACHUCA — If some Army captains had their say, senior military officers would not be put in the position of having to testify before congressional committees, as Gen. David Petraeus did Monday and Tuesday before the House of Representatives and the Senate. After watching the general, commander of the Multi-National Force-Iraq, and U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan C. Crocker testify before the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday, the consensus of the 16 captains attending the career course at the Intelligence Center at this Southern Arizona Army post was that the senators were talking and not wanting to...

WASHINGTON -- The American military, once a staunch supporter of President Bush and the Iraq war, has grown increasingly pessimistic about chances for victory. For the first time, more troops disapprove of the president's handling of the war than approve of it, according to the 2006 Military Times Poll. In 2004, 83 percent of poll respondents thought success in Iraq was likely. That number has shrunk to 50 percent. Only 35 percent of the military members polled this year said they approve of how Bush is handling the war, and 42 percent said they disapprove. Just as telling, in 2006's...
