The school was way off base here. If they have one side represented in this debate they should have the other. What ever happened to common sense and fair play?

Huerta said her "Republicans hate Latinos" comment was based on the number of anti-immigration bills sponsored by Republicans. "Large numbers of the Republican Party are anti-immigrant or anti-Latino," she said. "I can justify that."

We are waiting for your justification.

Folks, they are taking over this country and want to do major damage. Republican party MUST stop this! It is way out of hand. They already threatened our economy, any threat is one to many, and these people DEMAND citizenship?

NO AMNESTY, NO FASTTRACK to CITIZENSHIP, NO WELFARE!

(Huerta said her "Republicans hate Latinos" comment was based on the number of anti-immigration bills sponsored by Republicans. )

Correction: Republicans hate ILLEGAL immigration. Using her logic, but adding real facts to it, I'd say with some justification that Democrats hate to comform to the law.

......kids forced to listen to pro-immigration speeches

The issue is not about being "pro-immigartion" or "anti-immigration". Just about every American has an immigrant ancestor.

The issue is about ILLEGAL immigration.

The liberal media has made the time-honored term "Immigrant" synonymous with "Illegal Alien". We should watch our own language and not fall into their trap.

One more example of why parents should pull their kids out of public schools. The teachers strike to get their way, so why shouldn't parents do the same thing to get teachers to stick to the three r's, and not try to indoctrinate the pupils? Teacher's political leanings have no place in the classroom, so maybe the children should have no place there either.

Students like Miss Fung, Sean Allen who taped Jay Bennish, the ROTC students that took down the Mexican flag, and the students in Colorado that stood up for wearing Marine/patriotic shirts make me very proud.

Why not have a "sick-out"? The schools lose money for every student that doesn't show up.

"This is a terrific opportunity for young people to learn what the democratic process is about, the way that bills are passed," Huerta said. "I explained this whole procedure to the students."

Trouble is she interspersed her bill passing lesson with propaganda.

No surprise here. Typical Democrat dogma. Yet another case of liberal educators letting in fanatical liberal speakers to spew hate and brainwash kids with non-reality. The Democrat hate mongers cannot come to terms with the fact that so many U.S. citizens, majority Republican but plenty of Democrats too, want illegal alien intrusions into the U.S. to cease immediately and for existing U.S. laws to be enforced. It really is that simple. Nobody worth listening to is asking for legal immigration to cease. That would be narrow minded and foolish. Legal immigrants usually have a lot of offer. Illegal aliens on the other hand most often do not, for myriad reasons obvious to anyone paying attention.

Worth a try, but a strike is more straightforward, I don't mean for just a few days or a week either. Ten days minimum! And re-entry only with a promise of no reprisal against the pupils!

I'm not the one to ask, but things like this and worse are going on in public schools all over the nation, and parents are, for the most part, ignored. It is time for parents to take a stand if there have been problems in their kid's schools. These problems are certainly in existence in the Vancouver and the Evergreen school districts.

"The issue is not about being "pro-immigartion" or "anti-immigration". Just about every American has an immigrant ancestor."

That doesn't mean we can't control immigration. I keep hearing about how our economy is now service, and everyone needs to be highly educated, and how we are destroying our resources, so of course we need to let millions of uneducated people moving here to start using resources that we don't have.

300 million people is enough, we aren't settling vast open lands anymore.

Indeed. I hate that "immigrant" is being used this way. Illegal aliens is the correct term with emphasis on the first word.

That is exactly what they should do. Guess what, the parents control the money in this situation and it is all about money.
If the parents initiated a strike and did not send their kids to school for just 1 day the schools would be screaming. They would not get their ADA (average daily attendance) money that they receive for every day that every child is sitting in a classroom.
Parents could actually take back the classrooms with little effort.

Because churches can claim exemption from certain forms of tax, high-profile partisan verbiage is excluded from sermons. And in actual practice, if the speech is conservative, that speech WILL be surpressed in a church setting.

But public funds are lavished on schools, and they are brimming with liberal speech. And in many cases, student participation is encouraged, when it is not ENFORCED.

Now, my girlfriend may date other men behind my back, but I believe I have not been made to pay for their dinners, hotel-rooms, etc.

So why should I be made pay for schools that terrorize or brainwash my son?

To turn the tables a bit, can I have the ATF body-slam Al Franken, and force him to buy me videogames and stuff?

Back here in the early to mid 90's, the companies were pretty compliant with the illegal immigration stuff because they were scared of getting found out and fined. Now, it doesn't seem quite that way.

Why are the people of Arizona allowing these parasite libs to indoctrinate their children?

If the libs can indoctrinate the children then at least get some parity by stating the conservative point of view on illegal immigration.

What we should do is lobby like crazy for tax credits and vouchers. Then go to the polls and vote NO to government schools.

When are we finally going to drive a stake through the heart of the government school monstrosity?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The way to take a stand is to starve the monster of students and money.

Homeschool or privately school your own. Urge your church to open a very low cost or free school

Then organize other parents to go to the polls and vote NO to government schools.

'Grandparent for homeschooling.'

Just an idea on the top of my head. It would interesting if Grandparents had a site to guide them into teaching their children. Homeschooling is infinitely cheaper; and what would be greater to promote than good time between family w/education?

I would like the general society more influenced by family rather than the likes of public schooling.
