This is Free Republic. Our mission here is to fight against the America-hating, God-hating, Cristianity-hating, Jew-hating, capitalism-hating, abortionist/homosexualist, leftist revolutionaries and marxist/fascist totalitarians who are hellbent on destroying our constitution, our religious freedom, our economic freedom, our Judeo-Christian way of life and the America we love.

Our great nation was founded by men filled with integrity and honor who were willing to sacrifice not only their fortune but their lives. They were compelled to leave their homes and careers to help guide our new nation into a direction that would demand restraints upon the government’s role in the lives of the people. They fought to establish a republic that would grant limited power to a federal government, because they understand that any government with central power is a corrupt government. These great patriots understood that absolute power corrupts and a best form of government was best...

Unless more Americans of all stripes, all ethnicities and races, and all political persuasions can unite in understanding why liberty matters and how it is lost, Islam is our future In a reversal of the early America that set the world ablaze with her record-breaking growth of freedom and prosperity, today our nation is experiencing the most rapid decline of any culture in modern history. Political correctness now silences conversations that were commonplace just 10 years ago. Law enforcement can arrest and even imprison people for so-called “hate speech†in the very country that prides itself on a foundational first...

In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Ted Cruz says he has a plan to begin highlighting, “policy differences” between him and Donald Trump. “There are plenty of policy differences and there may well come a time when we start highlighting those more,” Cruz tells The Brody File. “In a political campaign there are seasons and phases to it…as the race narrows down, as people start making choices, we may see some more policy contrasts.” Cruz has been climbing in the polls and has the money to make a serious run at the nomination. He’s been courting evangelical voters...

Once upon a time America fought a great war to rid the world of the Nazis, but now we have become just like them. In fact, I would venture to say that the Nazification of the United States is pretty much complete. As you will see below, we have a heavily socialized economy where tax rates are out of control and lots of freebies are given out just like the Nazis did. And just like the Nazis, our society has become highly militarized and our government has become increasingly obsessed with watching, tracking, monitoring and controlling the general population. But...

Evil times are on the way and the best way to survive them is to be home before dark A worrisome darkness is settling in over North America and the best place you can be is home before dark. In a now upside-down world, it’s reached the point where in essence radical Islam and Marxist governments want the same thing for society: the conversion of all Christian souls over to Islam and Marxism. For Islam to advance its Caliphate, for Marxism to make the end justify its means, it’s your very immortal soul that they need. This two-headed enemy wants...

Are you afraid that the government is plotting to confiscate your firearms? Do you believe the economy is about to collapse and the government will soon declare martial law? Do you display an unusual number of political and/or ideological bumper stickers on your car? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you may be an anti-government extremist (a.k.a. domestic terrorist) in the eyes of the police. As such, you are now viewed as a greater threat to America than ISIS or al Qaeda. Let that sink in a moment. If you believe in and exercise your rights...

Conservatives, Christian and non-Christian alike, share concerns about · civil and religious liberty, · abortion and the sanctity of human life, · human trafficking and pornography and how they damage families, · fiscal responsibility in government, and · poverty. What many don’t know is that there are links between climate alarmism and every one of these issues. Let me take them in reverse order. First, climate alarmism undermines fiscal responsibility in government. Not only do governments around the world spend nearly $1 billion per day just on research into climate change, but also policies meant to reduce global warming would...

The Group Represents Broad Conservative Coalition Supporting CruzContoocook, NH – Presidential candidate Ted Cruz won the 603 Alliance Selection Caucus today, receiving a whopping 72.3% of the vote. The 603 Alliance is New Hampshire’s largest gathering of conservative activists, comprised of a broad coalition of Tea Party, Liberty, faith-based, and Republican women groups from all over the state. The 603 Alliance grew out of conservatives’ concern that various factions were splitting the conservative vote and allowing establishment moderates to win in New Hampshire. Determined to give the conservative coalition a stronger voice, the 603 Alliance decided to coalesce behind and endorse...

In previous generations, Americans had the sense to understand that if you vote for people who don't represent you, you get a government that doesn't represent you. That's self-evident. – Alan Keyes, LoyalToLiberty post, Sept. 23, 2012 Everywhere I go, I find conservatives complaining. They complain about what John Boehner and Mitch McConnell have done, or rather failed to do, with the GOP majority in Congress. They complain about the GOP's utter failure to confront Obama's treasonous foreign and national security policies. They complain about the party's failure to call Obama to account for his dictatorial edicts on immigration. They...

The problem with labels is they shut down thought. According to Webster’s, a conservative is someone who embraces “the value of established or traditional practices”. It is hard to find a worse description...

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Chants of “USA! USA! USA!” echoed across the University of Missouri quad Thursday afternoon as a crowd of students cheered on a student who burned an ISIS flag in a symbolic gesture in response to continual human rights violations by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. The student leading the “#MUCKISIS” flag burning, Ian Paris, 21, president of the Mizzou chapter of Young Americans for Liberty, told the roughly 150 in attendance that the rally was meant to build unity among the people who came to see a flag symbolizing “hatred and intolerance” burned. It was...

Last week, National Review’s Jim Geraghty published what may be the most insightful essay yet [1] on the difference between the conservative movement and Donald Trump and his followers. Geraghty has noticed a telling reticence on Trump’s part to utter such words as “freedom†or “liberty.†By contrast, Geraghty notes that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker used the word “freedom†six times in the 179-word announcement of his plan to replace ObamaCare, and Ted Cruz used “freedom†twice and “liberty†eleven times in his announcement speech at Liberty University, not counting references to the university itself. The reason for this lack of...

Our Ageless Constitution "The structure has been erected by architects of consummate skill and fidelity; its foundations are solid; its components are beautiful, as well as useful; its arrangements are full of wisdom and order...." -Justice Joseph Story Justice Story's words pay tribute to the United States Constitution and its Framers. Shortly before the 100th year of the Constitution, in his "History of the United States of America," written in 1886, historian George Bancroft said: "The Constitution is to the American people a possession for the ages." He went on to say: "In America, a new people had risen up without...

Leader Berta Soler Says 3,500 "Pardoned" Are Common Criminals for Show Just six days before the arrival of Pope Francis in Cuba, the island’s police arrested 50 Ladies in White and other human-rights activists, to make it 22nd consecutive Sunday of detentions and beatings. Berta Soler, leader of the Ladies in White, explained to the PanAm Post the catch-and-release process of intimidation, and that all captives were out of jail by Monday night. The regime’s officers arrested the women, who every Sunday gather to demand the release of political prisoners, and dragged them away as they sat in protest.

Many colleges routinely turn away conservative speakers, sometimes even disinviting them after they have been invited. That's not the way colleges are supposed to work. They are supposed to be a place for the free expression of ideas. Liberty University understands that. I hope (but doubt) liberal colleges get the message.

**SNIP** “And I would also say that as a nation– the truth is, that a nation which in many ways was created, and I’m sorry to have to say this, from way back on racist principles, that’s a fact– we have come a long way as a nation,” he added. “My guess is that probably not everybody here is an admirer or voted for Barack Obama,” Sanders said. “But the point is, in 2008 this country took a huge step forward in voting for a candidate based on his ideas and not the color of his skin.”

The doldrums of summer are about to be over. That can only mean one thing: the race for the Republican nomination for the presidency is about to kick into high gear. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s been a particularly slow last few weeks of summer. This week certainly proved that. Once again, Donald Trump has dominated the media cycle. This week saw Trump and Jeb Bush engage in a tete-a-tete via dueling web videos. As Conservative Review’s Amanda Carpenter writes, Trump baited a trap and Jeb fell for it. The other big news in Trumpdom was whether or not...

THE BIG PICTURE: A PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE OF FIRST PRINCIPLES I’ve always been a “big picture” kinda guy. I would rather read a general overview of history rather than a detailed analysis of the Battle of the Bulge. I would prefer reading a concise, insightful summary of human nature rather than the most in-depth study of child development. I would prefer watching a Discovery Channel program on The Big Bang than one on the solar system. For me, the Big Picture is just more fun to think about than the little stuff. My approach to the presidential debates is no different....
