MSNBC's facelift over the past two years has cut the airtime of some of its most prominent minority personalities - and it is starting to be noticed. The National Association of Black Journalists expressed concerns about MSNBC's record in the wake of the noisy exit of weekend host Melissa Harris-Perry. The network said Thursday that it is proud of its diversity effort and noted that people of all ethnicities have seen their roles reduced or eliminated as part of a transition to more breaking news coverage. The MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry is officially out at the network. Two days after Ms. Harris-Perry publicly stated she felt “worthless” to NBC News executives after several weeks of pre-emptions for her namesake weekend morning show, an MSNBC spokesman on Sunday confirmed that the network and Ms. Harris-Perry were “parting ways.”

Donald Trump is going after the media, threatening to sue publications for writing negatively about him. During a Friday rally in Texas, Trump launched into a monologue about how he felt that the media was treating him unfairly, alleging that the New York Times and Washington Post, in particular, were not covering him well. "The New York Times, which is losing a fortune, which is a failing newspaper, which probably won't be around much longer ... but I think the New York Times is one of the most dishonest media outlets I've ever seen in my life," the businessman said....

Since the first GOP presidential debate last August, Fox News Channel seems to have lost its perception mojo with its core right-leaning audience. By mid February, FNC’s perception by Republican adults 18 and over had reached its lowest point in more than three years, and has declined by approximately 50% since January of this year.

Fox has ordered a pilot for a new television show aimed at combating so-called Islamophobia in the U.S. Former "Saturday Night Live comedian Nasim Pedrad will play a 14-year-old male in the upcoming series "Chad: An American Boy." Some of the mocking press coverage of Donald Trump is so over the top that it is a surprise that there has been so little criticism of the absurd antics of such media outlets as the New York Daily News and the Huffington Post. Fortunately there is one bright light to counter this absurdity in the form of Jake Tapper of CNN. Tapper expressed his criticism in an interview published yesterday in The Wrap.

Connecticut officers who drew their stun guns on the job last year were more likely to fire when the suspect was black or Hispanic, according to a first-of-its-kind set of statistics that could stoke the nation's debate over race and police use of force. The Republican National Committee (RNC) officially voted on Monday afternoon to sever its business relationship with NBC News for the previously-scheduled Feb. 26, 2016, GOP presidential primary debate, Breitbart News has learned. The Debate Committee for the RNC met via conference call and after hearing updates from RNC chairman Reince Priebus officially voted to cancel the partnership with NBC, according to sources on the call. Alexander Nazaryan, senior writer for Newsweek, on social media Wednesday compared the Cruz campaign in Iowa to the Nazi Beer Hall Putsch in a gross Tweet featuring the Nazi swastika flag. Eventually, Nazaryan deleted the tweet. He then tweeted an "explanation" for why he deleted it (but not an apology). I have long marveled at liberals' air of superiority and lack of self-reflection, which have always been particularly evident among liberal media elites and journalists. Boston Globe executives summoned managers of its new distribution partner to a meeting Sunday to discuss widespread delivery failures, but the day ended with finger pointing and no clarity about when all home subscribers could once again count on getting their newspapers.
