  • National Poll: Trump Surges Among Latinos, African-Americans

    09/08/2016 7:42:08 PM PDT · by profit_guy · 28 replies
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has some favorable ratings among both Latinos and African-American voters, according to results of the latest Franklin Pierce University/Boston Herald poll. The poll's demographic breakdown showed that by combining voters who were "very favorable" and "somewhat favorable" to Trump, the billionaire developer got a positive rating from 35 percent of Hispanics and 24 percent of African-Americans. A Breitbart analysis of the poll notes Trump would not win with either group because 49 percent of Hispanics and 69 percent of African-Americans still have a "very unfavorable" view of him. Hispanic support would help Trump in Florida,...

There’s something odd that seems to consistently happen when corporate Wall Street media narratives are in diametric opposition to factual reality; they begin a process of trying to quantify their fallacy. An example today comes from the notoriously globalist-minded Gallup Polling Group. But first, it’s important to understand the Gallup ideology (just to avoid being labeled “conspiratorial” etc.) – in their own words: […] Gallup has committed the next century to achieving a global endeavor of peerless magnitude, integrity, and strategic value — the Gallup World Poll. Gallup’s World Poll continually surveys the wellbeing, behaviors, and attitudes of the world’s...

Republican Donald Trump is surging with African American voters and gaining more support from Latino voters than Mitt Romney and John McCain. The latest LA Times Daybreak poll has Hillary up by just six-tenths of a point. Trump is surging with black voters and doing better with Latino voters than Romney or McCain. In the last ten presidential election cycles the highest black vote share for a Republican was 12% for Bob Dole in 1996. Trump has 14.6% of the black vote in today’s LA Times poll. If Donald Trump captured 25 percent of the African American vote he would...

The Republican National Committee is stepping up its efforts to attract Hispanic voters. A new social media campaign called "GOP Hispanics: The Week Ahead" is directed toward the demographic and begins with an important message about national security. GOP Hispanics: The Week Ahead | Terrorism RNC Director of Hispanic Communications Helen Aguirre-Ferré spoke with Townhall about the new campaign and why Donald Trump should be a much more attractive candidate to Hispanics than Hillary Clinton. Clinton's supposed strength of being the "most qualified" candidate is actually her biggest weakness, the RNC director explained. "To the contrary," Aguirre-Ferré said. "She ignored...

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Bilingual campaign workers fanned out across the event hall, clutching clipboards as they sought prospective voters to register. Handmade signs shot up from the crowd: “Latinos for Hillary” and “Estoy con ella!” And from the stage at her rally here on Monday night, Hillary Clinton set aside time for “a special word about Puerto Rico.”

New York’s Hispanic voters may have a secret soft spot for Donald Trump. A new poll pegs support for Trump at 40 percent among Latino registered voters in the Empire State. The results would be a major break from recent electoral history. Barack Obama took 89 percent of that demographic in his 2012 victory. And, in a sign of continued electoral turmoil, 20 percent of registered Democrats plan to vote for Trump — while 21 percent of registered Republicans say they will go for Hillary Clinton. Obama held on to 95 percent of New York’s Democrats in the last election....

With less than four months to go before Election Day, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton holds a commanding 46-point lead over her Republican rival Donald Trump among Hispanic voters, according to an exclusive poll released Thursday by Fox News Latino. The poll found that 66 percent of registered Latinos would head to the ballot box to vote for Clinton and her running mate, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, compared to only 20 percent who would pick the ticket of Trump and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

Donald Trump has said, with characteristic braggadocio, that he will "win the Latino vote." Probably not. But if a new poll from Latino Decisions is to be trusted, the real estate magnate is doing better among Latinos than conventional wisdom would ever have thought possible. The poll of 800 registered Latino voters in 12 battleground states, which was released during a press conference a couple of miles from the site of the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday afternoon, found that Hillary Clinton takes 71 percent of Latino support, versus 24 percent who back Trump, and five percent who are undecided....

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) was officially announced as Hillary Clinton’s running mate in Miami this afternoon as she introduced him as a “progressive who likes to get things done.” “Hey, guys. Thank you!” he said as he took the podium, before immediately launching into a message in Spanish. Kaine repeatedly referred to his missionary work in Honduras, where he learned to speak fluent Spanish. (snip) “In our administration in the first 100 days we’ll put forward a comprehensive immigration reform package that includes a path to citizenship,” he shouted.

Nine candidates are vying for Rep. Charles Rangel's seat — a position he's held for nearly a half-century — but only one stood beside him as he cast his vote in Harlem on Tuesday. "For the first time in 46 years I couldn't find my name!" Rangel said as he stepped out of his polling site at Public School 175 on W. 134th St. "But I'm so glad I did find his name," he added, nodding towards Assemblyman Keith Wright, whom Rangel endorsed as his successor. New Yorkers in seven congressional districts in four boroughs — Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx...

McCain will face off against several Republican primary challengers in August. Polls show McCain currently tied with his general election opponent, Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D-Ariz.).

MIAMI — Lifelong friends unfriend them on Facebook. Siblings and parents refuse to talk politics. Their kids are home from college stoked about the socialist Bernie Sanders. Sure, their candidate may love them and be three weeks away from becoming the GOP presidential nominee. But it still isn’t easy being a Latino for Donald Trump. From the get-go, with his big campaign announcement splash about Mexican immigrants being rapists and criminals, to his more recent broadside against a federal judge of Mexican heritage, the billionaire Republican’s incendiary rhetoric has made life more than a little complicated for many of his...

Top Republican officials and donors are increasingly worried about the threat Donald Trump's attack on a judge's Mexican heritage could pose to their party's chances in November -- and about the GOP's ability to win Latino votes for many elections to come. Trump is under fire for repeatedly accusing U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing a lawsuit involving Trump University, of bias because of his Mexican heritage. Those concerns intensified Sunday after Trump said he would have the same concerns about the impartiality of a Muslim judge.

Donald Trump's remarks about Hispanics -- "They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists," he said of Mexican immigrants last summer -- have been called racist and shocking. Sixty-two percent of Hispanic voters in a recent CBS News poll say they view him unfavorably. Yet along the Texas-Mexico border, Trump enjoys a well of support among Hispanic Americans that some might find surprising. Texas has the second largest Latino population in the nation, including nearly five million eligible Hispanic voters. In the Texas Republican primary March 1, Trump came in a distant second, winning just six of the state's 254...

Hillary Clinton has a problem: she’s not where she needs to be with non-white voters. In fact, she’s polling under strength with key blocks of the Obama coalition. This has been a problem since July of 2015. Forty-one percent of Hispanics in Friday’s Fox News Latino survey said they view Clinton negatively, compared with 56 percent who view her positively. Forty-two percent said she desires the presidency for herself and not for the good of the country. The former secretary of State trails far behind President Obama when it comes to favorability among Hispanic voters. Seventy-two percent in the poll...
