The Convention is where delegates are meant to cast votes for the nominee, yet the Tampa Bay Times Forum was already plastered with embedded Romney banners, and additional 'Mitt' signs for people to hold were also smuggled in to make it appear that many are behind him. All Ron Paul material was promptly confiscated. Six states filed to put Ron Paul into nomination while the rules still said it only took five states. Realizing this, the RNC met early Tuesday morning to change the rules in order to make the minimum needed as eight states, which Ron also would have...

TAMPA, FLA. — A group of protesters from the women's rights group Code Pink interrupted Mitt Romney's speech at the Republican National Convention tonight. That the protesters were able to obtain credentials to the convention — let alone one that enabled them to get so close to the stage — and that they were able to sneak in huge pink signs is actually a pretty incredible feat given the level of security at the Republican convention.

MESSAGE FROM RON PAUL This is the only man who can screw up beating Obama. I've experienced, first hand, the tactics of his foot soldiers. They are as bad as the Occupy Wall Street Crowd.

Chaos erupted in Shreveport today as police officers arrested state GOP delegates who support Ron Paul for the party's 2012 presidential nomination. The dispute arose after the state party's central committee issued "supplemental rules" earlier this week concerning the delegate selection process. A press release from the Ron Paul campaign this afternoon referred to the 11th hour changes as "illegal rules." After fights in the Rules Committee Friday, state party chairman opened the convention moving to pass the new rules, when the majority of delegates moved to elect a new convention chair. When Villere refused to yield the dais, the...

Don't look now, but Ron Paul has just secured 30 of 36 delegates in Minnesota. Although he won only four counties and finished 18% behind Rick Santorum, the February 7 caucus winner, superior organization has enabled him to stuff the delegate rolls with committed Paulistas. This follows his February 4 narrow caucus loss in Maine, where Paul's delegates still managed to secure 21 of 22 committed delegates.

Supporters of Texas Rep. Ron Paul booed one of Mitt Romney’s adult sons off the stage Saturday at the Arizona Republican Party convention as he tried to consolidate support for his father. Josh Romney’s speech to state GOP members was cut short by jeers from Paul backers at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, the Arizona Republic reported. The state’s convention was to elect delegates for the national convention in August, where the former Massachusetts governor is expected to wrap up the nomination to take on President Barack Obama. “We cannot afford four more years of President Obama,” said Josh Romney,...

Iowa Republicans have a total of 28 delegates to this year’s national convention in Tampa, Florida. Two delegate selection committee members from each of the state’s four congressional districts met at the Republican headquarters in Des Moines today to draft the slate of 13 at-large delegates that must be ratified by convention delegates at the state convention on June 15th. Each state is awarded delegates based on a number of factors. Each state starts with ten delegates, five for each U.S. Senator. States are then awarded three delegates for every congressional district. The three members of the Republican National Committee,...

Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul captured the majority of Nevada’s national delegates early Sunday, overwhelming likely nominee Mitt Romney with an organized contingent who easily took control of the state convention. Paul’s supporters won 22 of the 25 national delegate slots up for election at the state convention in Sparks on Saturday. Romney won three. Another three automatic delegates are expected to support Romney, meaning Romney will have six supporters in the delegation and Paul will have 22.

Despite what you may have heard from the mainstream media, Mitt Romney does not have the Republican nomination locked up. In fact, he is rapidly losing delegates that almost everyone assumed that he already had in the bag. To understand why this is happening, you have to understand the delegate selection process. Each state has different rules for selecting delegates to the Republican national convention, and in many states the "voting" done by the public does not determine the allocation of delegates to particular candidates at all. And the truth is that delegates are the only thing that really matters...

Even though he was defeated in every primary and caucus, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) is still claiming he will win several states because of delegate support. The Paul campaign is now predicting victory in Minnesota and Maine, and says he is close to victory in Iowa, Nevada, Colorado, Alaska, Georgia, North Dakota and Missouri. The Paul team is highly organized and his claims should not be dismissed. In Taney County, Missouri, the results of the February 7th election were Santorum 58%, Romney 23% and Paul 11.5%. The result was reversed on March 17th when the Texan won 100% of the...

By now, it is clear that the Maine caucuses were a complete mess. Evidence is mounting that Mitt Romney's 194-vote victory over Ron Paul was prematurely announced, if not totally wrong. Washington County canceled their caucus on Saturday on account of three inches of snow (hardly a blizzard by Maine standards), and other towns that scheduled their caucuses for this week have been left out of the vote count. Now, it looks like caucuses that did take place before Feb. 11 have also been left out of final tally. As the full extent of the chaos unfolds, sources close to...

Rep. Ron Paul is running stronger than any other libertarian GOP candidate ever, including his own several bids. Still, everyone, even he, knows that Paul will not become President. Paul's various stump and post-election speeches never allude to his governance, only the message he and his liberty minded supporters are sending to the Washington establishment. Campaigning is hard work for a 76-year-old, so why does Paul do it? Paul wants a seat at the RNC table, maybe a prime time slot for his son, and if they know what is good for them, they should oblige. If Paul continues to...

Lyndon LaRouche was a prolific writer who developed a cult-like following and eight times, between 1976 and 2004, sought the presidency, seven times for the Democratic ticket. He wrote and spoke often about the economy and spun wild conspiracy theories. For example, he said Queen Elizabeth was a drug dealer. The Nation’s Bob Dreyfuss, a LaRouche acolyte who dedicated his first book to his former boss and had it published by LaRouche’s publisher, argued in it that Bernard Lewis, perhaps the most influential living historian of the Middle East, was a nefarious force behind Ayatollah Khomeini and Iran’s Islamic Revolution....

Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX), a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, launched his “South Carolina” money bomb Saturday. The “South Carolina” money bomb is the latest in a series of money bombs that have raised funds for campaign events and ad buys in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. Although Mr. Paul has not set a fundraising goal for the “South Carolina” money bomb, the Texas congressman has hauled in more than $160,000 as of 9am EDT Saturday. Mr. Paul’s most recent money bomb, the “Tea Party” money bomb, had a fundraising goal of $4...
