The Convention is where delegates are meant to cast votes for the nominee, yet the Tampa Bay Times Forum was already plastered with embedded Romney banners, and additional 'Mitt' signs for people to hold were also smuggled in to make it appear that many are behind him. All Ron Paul material was promptly confiscated.
Six states filed to put Ron Paul into nomination while the rules still said it only took five states. Realizing this, the RNC met early Tuesday morning to change the rules in order to make the minimum needed as eight states, which Ron also would have had if the RNC had not decided to take the Ron Paul delegates away from LA and ME. One bus of delegates on the way to the RNC was essentially kidnapped for two hours, and arrived too late to vote on the matter said the RNC.
Rather than taking proper vote counts or listening to objections, several votes were clearly not unanimous, but this didn't stop the RNC "leaders" from ignoring the dissent. Video surfaced just after this video published, but a link is in the video showing that the teleprompter already had pre-approved results before the public vote was taken. Ron Paul's name and delegate totals were not allowed to be mentioned officially on the stage, even when he won the specific state.
The Republican Party has lost all hope, and the disrespect Paul supporters received will eventually be replied with "I told you so."
If the GOP had anything to do with Ron Paul or David Duke, there would really be no hope.
I hope the paul kids aren’t going to take their bongs and leave. /s
I supported Gingrich and he gave it a shot and lost. Romney is the man and I will support him fully. In a democratic republic, that's the way it works. Anyone crazy enough to allow Iran to nuke up is too crazy to even be in Congress.
Lords and serfs. They write the laws. We follow them.
Where's TJ with that fertilizer?
Were there floor votes submitted by delegates state by state for the candidates? I have had to work so did not see that. Conventions in the past made a big deal of these state by state delegate votes. Where is the video of this???? If not... where is our Republic now?????
America is a Constitutional Republic with democratic elements, not democratic principles.
Majority rule is the foremost principle of a democracy whereas the foremost principle in republicanism, IMO, is protecting the rights of the people.
If America were a democracy your rights could be taken away at whim by a majority vote of the populace.
A democracy, of any kind, is the very thing the Founding Fathers didn't establish.
Stand down until Nov 7 fellow Libertarians. First we eradicate Marxism
Good riddance to Ron Paul, his supporters are free to vote for Obama again, if they can put down the bong long enough.
And “where delegates are meant to cast votes for the nominee” has been part of the convention show for some time - since the primary process became the way nominees are determined.
I’ve enjoyed seeing the new faces and new successful leaders of the GOP, excellent convention.
Here’s some more information.
Apparently, the convention security technically banned “outside signs”, but only enforced that rule against Ron Paul supporters. Romney supporters got in scot free, and heckled Paul supporters during the events themselves, trying to block their signs, as seen in the video I linked to in the OP.
And here’s some more, a little tidbit more you might want to see.
It’s the rules change for the convention.
Watch it very carefully at 1:40.
The teleprompter had written down a scripted result of the vote for Boehner to announce. The teleprompter was pre-written for Boehner to say that the vote had been resolved in a certain manner. I don’t know if this is normal, but it seems kinda fishy.
Paul lost. Get over it. There was no conspiracy. I like most of what he stands for, but he lost. I was for Santorum, but he lost. I was for Buchanan in 96, but he lost.
They made my great state look like we’re a bunch of kooks. They won’t get away with it again, so I hope they enjoyed throwing their little temper tantrum.
Paul was always a scam, followers, fame and fortune, for a small time career politician, that would never escape the confines of his safe congressional seat.
Yeah, aint it ashamed!
Guess we will have to wait a little longer for Illegal drugs to be made legal, and prostitution to be legalized. And don’t forget I was really hoping for an head-in-the sand foreign policy for 4 years to allow those people we have mistreated, the Iranians, to finish their hard work on a nuclear bomb, so they can smuggle it in.
Talk about sham, that video you posted was produced by Ron Paul and pals Collective Checkup.
Wait a second... Collective?
That rings a bell...
Or perhaps Paulbots are going for the enemy of our enemy is now our friend?
It's certain that no conservatives I have ever known would believe anything from a leftist such as Code Pink member, Code Pink arrestee, PBS left-wing news hostess Amy Goodman, Democracy Now!
Yet apparently Ron Paul and his pals Collective Checkup felt it important to feature in Ron Paul's video Amy Goodman, Code Pink arrested member left-wing hostess of Democracy Now!.
Amy Goodman, Code Pink & Democracy Now!
Amy Goodman is also good friend of Code Pink's leader Medea Benjamin:

Politics sure make strange bedfellows, eh?
So what? Ron Paul is as relevant as Lyndon Larousse. He is a crack pot and every single one of his followers (include yourself) can go play in traffic for all I care.
Why should we care? We don’t. Go away.
Why are you citing something from Russia Today?
Getting a little homesick, Komrade?
Just too much reefer in those six states, or what exactly??
What many fail to see is that the rule change had little to do with Ron Paul. Conservatives from MANY states were outraged over how the rules were changed, especially after they were promised the day before that they wouldn’t be.
Paul knew he had lost, but after the rule change, we have no idea which candidate will be the victim the next time. States lost their rights to vote how they wish, from now on, they’ll vote how they’re told, and that’s just not right.
The convention was a time for unity. Like it or not Romney won. Now is not the time for the Paultards childish distractions.
I respectfully submit this story as proof there is no difference between the two parties.
Romney was ordained through fraud, and malfeasance from the GOPe from jump street.
there is no choice, there is no difference.
enjoy your non-choice sheep.
Scream that from the top of every building ! Let’s eradicate the Marxists first.
It is called the Republican National Convention for a reason.
Ron Paul has 2 first names...that right there should exclude him from nomination. His 15 minutes of fame were up many years ago. Please tell him that, ok?
“States lost their rights to vote how they wish, from now on, theyll vote how theyre told, and thats just not right.”
The only thing that lost their ‘right to vote’ was the RP factions who attempted to conduct a coup. The people told the delegates how they were to vote. The RNC did the right thing and ensured the spoiled RP factions did as they were told by the people they represent. And you call that “just not right”?
hope you gave a healthy donation for the bandwidth used on the double posting of those hefty pictures
Why am I not surprised. The OP seems to hate Republicans more than they dislike the left and are fine using the left to their own ends. Just like Fraud Paul.
Oh wait never mind.. our resident 5th Party vanity candidate also posted this video last night as well.
And what have you done for the FReepathons lately?
Bd476 works tirelessly with her beautiful graphics to drum up donations, and most members of the FReepathon Team are also cash contributors as well.
I’ve seen larger graphics posted all over the site without a word of protest.
Lighten up, please.
That statement alone, back in MARCH, before your current whine fest thread tells me all I need to know about you WCS.
You have no idea what is Conservative or not.
Your post history makes for an interesting read.
WCS, do you haver ANY clue at all why we laugh at Paulistinians?
The "Collective Checkup" part is one clue...
Hey boss, ping to WCS pimping RonPaul and Collective Checkup the communist group, and he whined back in March about how Paul doesn't get any respect... DannyH loved to whine about getting respect too.
Thanks for the concern.
Didn’t see any such ‘concern’ when the Paulistinians were spamming RonPaul and Reagan pics everywhere they could, as often as they could, incessantly and despite it being correctly pointed out that RonPaul hated Reagan.
Apparently he didn’t hate Reagan enough to not try to attach his taint to a man greater than himself.
Ron is David Duke in ol geezer skin.
Oh, and speaking of Duke: in one of my many webtravels some time ago, I came across a reference to Duke’s boyfriend. May be true or not.
” and the disrespect Paul supporters received “
Do you demand respect?
And will you expect more respect in the morning?
Did you do a tea party, and take an online test to tell you your political beliefs?

Ron Paul would probably make a fairly decent president if there were no such thing as other countries.....
Gotcha. I see what you mean. It’s the Republican establishment making a huge power play. Ron Paul supporters were the first to be visibly affected by it, so of course they’re going to speak up.
I really don’t know why you guys need to throw all these insults at Ron Paul and his supporters at the convention in this thread, or why some posters even decided to attack me, just for posting this. I don’t agree with Ron Paul on his foreign policy. Neither do most Freepers. He is against the Republican establishment, though, which you just saw in action. It troubles me that there is so much opposition to the Republican party establishment and their choice of candidate(Romney), yet when someone offers an alternative, you side with the media and marginalize him as a pot-smoker’s candidate.
I know you may dismiss this as another delusional supporter’s ravings, but hear me out. Where I’m from, it’s fashionable in young circles, both libertarian and Republican, to support Ron Paul. Ron Paul’s libertarian platform purely involves limiting the power and actions of the Federal government. He offers to give rights back to the states, something I know has a lot of support on this site. Here is someone who opposes the neocon Republican establishment, stuff like the Patriot Act and the NDAA that infringe on constitutional rights. But I point out one unethical act from the Republican establishment, and suddenly you accuse me of being a closet Obama supporter?
It’s ironic that after this site decided to oppose Romney for being a RINO, I mention a candidate who actually opposes Romney’s policies and who is actually honest and consistent in his voting record in Congress, and suddenly it’s all about smearing mud over someone who the media already ignores, and who has already lost. One of the original actions of the Tea Party was to throw out RINOs. Romney is a flip-flopper and a “professional politician” who has officially been pointed out as such by the Free Republic staff. Paul Ryan does not have a clean slate, either. He supports fiscal conservatism, and I support him on that, but he also voted in favor of the Patriot Act and NDAA, which I know have drawn a lot of flak from the crowd concerned about Obama declaring martial law to avoid getting removed from office. So go figure...
Ron Paul is a good man, and I respect him a lot. I’d be a “Paulbot” if not for his foreign policy and the amount of time he’s been in Congress.
I’m a Libertarian, but not the crazy kind. If it were up to me the federal govt would be based out of the pentagon, all of it. Whatever couldn’t fit, we wouldn’t have.
We would also have term limits. No more than 8 years in ANY federal office, in a lifetime. If politicians knew they couldn’t run for reelection, it would give them more time to actually WORK.
As for Mitt, he won’t get my vote, I won’t settle again, I’ve had to do that to many times.
“I really dont know why you guys need to throw all these insults at Ron Paul and his supporters at the convention in this thread,”
Ask Ron Paul “truther” and buddy of Alex Jones to answer that one.
Also, ask him why he voted to allow homosexuals to openly serve in the military?
Paul had to adapt himself to the Kooks that embraced him, because that was all he had. I don’t think he likes it particularly, I’m sure he’d much rather be embraced by a more mainstream element, but that’s all he’s got now.
You’re probably right. I do wish Romney and his peeps could find a spot for him, a visible spot, because Paul could bring in a ton of the college vote, and he needs all he can get. I think young people like Paul more than obama right now.
I also note that you have no response to what bd476 pointed out about your video.
Namely the “Collective Checkup” communist group.
“And what have you done for the FReepathons lately?”
I have NOT posted extra large pictures for wasting expensive bandwith.
Once is ok, but twice in the same post, come on!
You want me to lighten up, I wasn’t talking to you!
