The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has launched a propaganda campaign attacking a state legislative initiative that is designed to protect the constitutional rights of all Americans, including Muslims. That initiative is known as American Laws for American Courts (ALAC).

The phone lines at Wichita State University (WSU) have apparently been down for well over a decade. At least it appears that way after WSU blatantly violated a twelve-year old Supreme Court ruling in its efforts to curtail religious expression across its state-supported campus. TOPEKA -- Gun owners who have a Kansas concealed-carry permit would be allowed to bring their weapons into more public buildings under a bill approved Monday by the state House. The House's 74-50 vote sends the measure to the Senate, where it's likely to get a cool reception. House members rewrote the bill so that it's not as strong as its supporters initially wanted, but it still faces opposition from many local governments and higher education officials.

Rick Santorum is the projected winner of the Kansas Republican presidential caucuses, sweeping to victory over his three opponents by an overwhelming margin.  With 53 percent of precincts reporting, Santorum was well ahead with 52 percent. Mitt Romney trailed with 18 percent, followed by Newt Gingrich with 17 percent.  Ron Paul was in last place with 12 percent.

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich intends to make a two-day campaign swing through Kansas in conjunction with the March 10 statewide caucus. Authorities say 11 people were injured after an apparent tornado caused heavy damage to the eastern Kansas town of Harveyville. Sharon Watson is a spokeswoman for the Kansas Adjutant General's office that oversees emergency operations. She says three people were critically injured in the storm late Tuesday, and eight others suffered minor injuries. Many of them were taken to a Topeka hospital. Harveyville is a town of about 250 people southwest of Topeka. Watson says about 40 percent of the town suffered damage. US Air Force cancels deal for Brazilian-made aircraft AFP - The US Air Force has canceled a $355 million contract for a light attack aircraft made by Brazil's Embraer, saying it would open an investigation after protests from a rival US aerospace firm, officials said Tuesday.
