Members of Congress who have been briefed by intelligence officials say they are baffled by the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. The Boeing 777 has been missing since March 7, when it lost contact with air traffic controllers about an hour into its flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing. Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak said Saturday that communications systems on the missing flight were deliberately disabled by someone on the plane and the last known signal came more than seven hours after takeoff. Lawmakers said they sought out information from multiple federal agencies about the missing plane, but...

The Internet and news sources are all abuzz with the brutal suppression of the Liturgical life of Fisher More College by the newly installed bishop of Fort Worth. In a summary act, without a hearing or even an opportunity to be heard and without even informing the College of their purported offenses, he illicitly declared the college under an effective interdict. Yes, he did not invoke a true canonical interdict. That would have required at least a façade of a canonical proceedings and a post-trial appeal process. Rather, he simply in a pure act of fiat legal positivism declared a...

It was with great sorrow that I learned of Dr. Taylor Marshall’s public criticism of me and his allegations concerning affairs at Fisher More College. I am saddened for our students and staff, for our College, for Catholics suffering through this incredible fury of ugliness, and for my wife and children. But I am especially saddened for Dr. Marshall. He was always treated well by the College, by me personally, and by my family, and we will continue to act in charitable consideration of him and his deserving family. As with all personnel matters, I will not comment publicly on...

Famed former CNN host Larry King said he has never heard of Juanita Broaddrick Thursday in an interview with Steve Malzberg on Newsmax TV. Broadrrick, a former Arkansas nursing home worker, accused President Clinton of raping her during the late 1970s in a 1998 Dateline interview. Malzberg was describing a double standard of media coverage during the 2012 conventions, noting left wing pundits dubbed the GOP convention a “convention of rapists” while remaining silent on President Clinton’s keynote address despite sexual assault allegations directed against the former president. King interjected “Hold up, hold up. Stop! Bill Clinton was accused of...

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) defended Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Wednesday after the House passed a clean debt-limit bill that raised the ire of conservatives. King branded as “morons” many conservatives in the GOP caucus who consistently oppose any effort to pass the debt limit, asserting they are the same faction that led to the government shutdown last year. “This is the same group that back in September and October went into a government shutdown that everybody knew was a disaster,” King said on MSNBC. “They ended up looking like morons following Ted Cruz over the cliff.” King had been...

The daughter of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. said Thursday that her brothers won't take King's Nobel Peace Prize and traveling Bible from her without a fight. Bernice King alleges her brothers Dexter King and Martin Luther King III want to sell the objects, and she told reporters that she won't stand by to let it happen. The slain civil rights icon's estate -- controlled by his sons -- filed a complaint in Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta last week to force Bernice King to turn over the items. "Not on my watch," she said at Atlanta's Ebenezer...

WASHINGTON — Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann says House conservatives are preparing to sue President Barack Obama for executive overreach in response to his threats of unilateral action on a host of issues. “He’s the president of the United States — he’s not a king,” the Republican lawmaker told reporters after Obama’s State of the Union address. “He may think he’s a king, he may declare himself king, but that’s not what he is under our Constitution.” Bachmann said an effort is underway in Congress to take back their “authority under the Constitution as the House of Representatives.” She said the...

If you missed the State of the Union last night (which is a bit misleading, it was a snoozefest, so there was nothing to miss) here's the big takeaway... target="_blank">iOwnTheWorld)You could say the speech was really a self-coronation for the rest of us (we conservatives already noticed he already did it for himself back in '09), so I gathered up some of the best/my favorite "King Obama" memes on the internet starting with this one...

President to Seek to Use State of the Union Address to Shift Souring View of Leadership President Barack Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday night will seek to shift the public's souring view of his leadership, a challenge the White House sees as critical to shaping the nation's policy direction over the next three years. Mr. Obama will emphasize his intention to use unilateral presidential authority—bypassing Congress when necessary—to an extent not seen in his previous State of the Union speeches, White House officials said.

"In front of Pilate, Christ affirmed three times that He was a King in the same sense that Pilate understood it. 'Then you are a King?' Jesus answered, 'You say that I am a King,' in other words, 'You are correct.' It is true that He told him, 'My kingdom is not of this world,' but He did not say, 'My kingdom is not here.' He used the adverb 'hinc' (Regnum meum non est hinc) which indicates movement and does not exist in English. This adverb 'hinc' meant three things at the same time, 'My Kingdom does not proceed from...

Stop feeding the LMSM trolls! Keep things PRIVATE. Thou shalt not speak ill of thy fellow Republicans! (Reagan). Once again, out in public, but this time not McCain or Ayotte or Graham or Peter King, or... you name it.. we have someone giving their PUBLIC two-cents worth on Republicans primarying Republicans, some having so-called Pharisaical attitudes and so forth. When will they (and now Jeb Bush talking about Ted Cruz) get it through their heads, that they aren't helping the Republican Party by going out in public and feeding the LMSM trolls. If they have a beef with Tea Partiers,...

The sequester cuts are going nowhere. A "blue ribbon" committee was set up in the budget/debt ceiling deal to look at the sequester cuts. Yet another "blue ribbon" committee - like the joke of a committee, the Super Committee. Obama said on February 19, 2013 that he would VETO any attempts to change the sequester cuts. So, he himself would have to take the lead on getting rid of the sequester cuts. And he can't blame the cuts on Congress again, either. Woodward showed in a fantastically accurate Washington Post article that Obama and Lew were the architects of the...

This public bashing needs to stop. Yesterday, I saw on television Ayotte still going at it talking about how this shutdown doesn't need to happen again. Maybe so, but enough of McCain, Graham, Ayotte, Corker, Peter King, etc, airing things out in public. Cruz, last night talked in part abvout McCain dive-bombing House Republicans, how this disunified Republicans, and how non-unity in the House/Senate torpedoed any chance of delaying or altering parts of ObamaCare - and Hannity brought up other individuals. But enough is enough. If they have a problem with someone or something take it to them in private...

You don't go on television during a shutdown and tell the world that your party is shutting down the government. You don't go out and take vicious shots at other Republicans for advocating the strategy your party is engaged in, especially when you don't have the cahones to go after Democrats the same way. If conservative Republicans like Justin Amash and Tim Huelskamp were punished for not being deferential enough to leadership, how is it that establishment Republicans can actively work to undermine the Republican Party during a shutdown fight and get a complete pass? If these mediocrities are so...
