Two years ago next week, deep in the mists of time before the Chinese virus, a California congresswoman named Katie Hill was forced to resign from the U.S. House of Representatives because she got caught banging her staffers. Ever since, Hill has tried to frame herself as a champion for women, claiming her resignation was a reaction to “revenge porn.” She says her ex-husband leaked nude pictures of her, including one where she’s brushing the hair of one of her female staffers. And she claims she resigned because she didn’t want the scandal to be a distraction from impeaching Trump,...

showing a clip of himself pantsless during a CNN appearance, which Stelter said took place on the night then-President Trump was banned from Twitter in January. "This was me live on CNN with just two minutes notice talking to Wolf Blitzer about Trump's Twitter account being banned," Stelter told viewers in an attempt to explain his bare thighs and calves. The video clip of the barely-dressed Stelter led to questioning and mockery on social media. "Why would Stelter air this clip of him doing a live shot without pants on his own show?" Twitter user Watchdog asked. "So if I’m...

Sometimes I think all the hand-wringing about some sort of online "war on conservatives" is silly. Sure, dude, maybe nobody is paying attention to your brilliant tweets because you've been shadowbanned. Perhaps Twitter's "Trust & Safety Council" really is keeping you from reaching the audience you deserve. Or maybe you're just boring and kind of dumb? I tend to be skeptical of these complaints, but it's possible that there really is an ongoing conspiracy to silence half the country. I have to admit, it would explain why I keep getting suspended from Twitter for no good reason. Maybe Twitter really...

Norm Macdonald, in addition to being the best Weekend Update anchor ever, is also a keen student of human nature. Last year he summed up the results of the 2016 presidential election with this koan-like observation: "People hated Hillary Clinton so much that they voted for someone they hated more than Hillary Clinton in order to rub it in." I really think that sums up our current moment. A lot of people, myself included, underestimated just how tired of Hillary everyone was. After a quarter-century of listening to that awful old criminal's angry, scolding voice, America finally said enough was...

It's 2016. Isn't it about time a black person won an Academy Award? Well, okay, black people have won Academy Awards.* But shouldn't black people be nominated every time the awards are held? And don't say, "Leave us alone, we picked a black guy already," because that makes you sound like the 2016 Democrats. Charlotte Rampling, who's nominated this year for her role in a movie you haven't seen, made the mistake of saying the #OscarsSoWhite boycott campaign is racist. Sure, it's literally true that demanding concessions based on race is racist, but that doesn't mean she should say it....

Look out, Anthony Weiner. Another member of your party is taking the pole position. Daily Mail: A state representative in Massachussetts is being investigated after allegedly sending pictures of his genitals to a government computer. The investigation is ongoing and the committee has not formally reprimanded the individual in charge, but it is being widely reported that Democratic State Representative John Fresolo is the one behind the scandal. He allegedly sent ‘lascivious photos of his privates’ to a computer at the State House, and an aide complained to the Ethics Committee to start the investigation… Though he was curt and...

A Wikipedia article devoted to Critical Race Theory, a controversial legal theory crafted to respond to the alleged role of “white supremacy” in American law, was placed on a temporary editing lockdown over the weekend after bloggers determined that CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien had relied on Wikipedia’s introductory definition of the theory — verbatim — during on an-air debate. A second lock was placed on the article Monday to protect it from politically biased editors who adjusted it following O’Brien’s gaffe. The flurry began after Breitbart.com editor Joel Pollak made a guest appearance on O’Brien’s show to explain a video...

Until just now, I knew I liked Sarah Palin but I hadn’t thought out my reasons. I just liked her. Now, challenged to explain why, I have to step back and look at where I’ve been and what has made me… me.

October 21, 2008Speaking of Obama's clothes... The great Batton Lash weighs in on our new friend Joe the Plumber, who had no idea a mere 10 days ago that he'd ever plumb the depths of the media's shamelessness: If you think there should be a fourth panel where Obama says something to try to stop it, you must know something the rest of us don't. Previous Batton: Hope! P.S. If you post this cartoon, please link to Batton's site, exhibitapress.com. He does some cool comics. Posted by Jim Treacher at October 21, 2008
