Sir Keir Starmer is under major fire this afternoon after he refused to rule out clobbering pensioners even more in the forthcoming Budget. At Prime Minister’s Questions, Tory MP Louie French rose to demand answers around rumours the government may be planning to withdraw two further crucial support measures from older people. Mr French specified pensioners’ free bus passes, and the single person council tax discount. Sir Keir ducked the simple question, replying: “As he knows very well, I am not going to preempt the Budget. It will all be set out in due course.” With a casual wave of...

Former MSNBC anchor Mehdi Hasan slammed the Biden administration on Wednesday over the news that the $320 million pier the U.S. built to transport aid into Gaza had fallen apart after only a few days. "Let's be clear: if this had happened on Trump's watch, we would all be mocking and denouncing him," Hasan wrote on X. "It's super-embarrassing that it happened on Biden's watch and the fact that it did shouldn't prevent us from saying: what a bloody s--tshow."

An Israeli-owned bulldozer kills 23-year-old American woman Rachel Corrie on March 16, 2003, as she protests a demolition campaign that destroyed over a thousand homes in the Gaza Strip. Following the death of their daughter, Corrie’s parents filed a civil lawsuit against the state of Israel, asserting she had been intentionally killed—or that the soldier driving the Israel Defense Forces bulldozer had shown criminal negligence. That lawsuit was rejected by a Haifa judge in 2012, who found that the driver had not seen Corrie as she stood in the bulldozer’s path at the village of Rafah. The ensuing internal Israeli...

The United States' top intelligence agency wants to ban its spies from using "biased language," including the terms "radical Islamists" and "jihadist," saying these words "are hurtful to Muslim-Americans and detrimentally impact our efforts as they bolster extremist rhetoric," according to a language guide published internally. FreeBeacon The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), which is responsible for handling the country's spy apparatus, seeks to ban a range of common terms because it says they offend Muslims and foment racism against employees. In addition to terms describing Islamic terrorists, ODNI instructs employees to avoid phrases such as "blacklisted,"...

“Quite interesting was that one of those assailants that participated this Friday in the attack on the concert thing was there on 7 March and photographed by one of the security staff there. They matched that up and it looks a little bit as if maybe the act was intended for 8 March, when a very famous singer, Shaman, was due to sing. An icon of Russian nationalism, he’s famous for his rendition of the national anthem. It really is striking if you ever listen to it, anyway what happened was that at the time the son of the owner...

Mousa Abu Marzouk of the Hamas Political Bureau was asked in a February 22, 2024 interview on Alghad TV [Egypt] if Hamas's Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades had any expectations regarding the consequences of the October 7 attack. Abu Marzouk said that "nobody in the whole world" could have expected such a "barbaric" response by Israel. He added that nobody could have anticipated that the U.S., Britian and other Western countries would unite to wage war against Hamas. Interviewer: "When the [Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam] Brigades did what they did on October 7, did they have expectations regarding the consequences of that...

More evidence on how social media works to promote Islamic radicalization — while suppressing its victims ... Facebook created over 100 pages for ISIS (Islamic State), as well as pages for other terror organizations, including the group behind the 9/11 attacks on the U.S., Al-Qaeda. ... Facebook has failed to catch Islamic State group and al-Shabab extremist content in posts aimed at East Africa as the region remains under threat from violent attacks. ... [Facebook] repeatedly failed to act on sensitive content including hate speech in many places around the world. Posts calling for violence and murder "in languages including...

India and the US wanted Jaish-e-Mohammed deputy chief Abdul Rauf Azhar to be designated as a âglobal terroristâ A month after Beijing shielded Pakistan-based deputy leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Abdul Rehman Makki, an international terrorist, it has done an encore. It has vetoed a similar joint proposal at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), again by India and the US, to designate Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) deputy chief Abdul Rauf Azhar as a âglobal terrorist.â He is the younger brother of JeM founder Maulana Masood Azhar, another murderous jihadist. India was understandably incensed at China, castigating it for its âdouble speakâ and...

It’s been a rough patch for Nir Rosen after some ill-advised remarks posted on Twitter got him in trouble earlier this week pertaining to his response to the news that CBS correspondent Lara Logan had been sexually assaulted and beaten while she was reporting on Egypt’s unrest: “ah f**k it, i apologize for being insensitive, its always wrong, thats obvious, but i’m rolling my eyes at all the attention she will get,” Rosen tweeted Tuesday. And then he added remarks about her being a “war monger”: ...more...

A female political pundit has been heavily criticised for suggesting Lara Logan should have seen her sex attack coming - and for calling the Egyptians who were protesting for democracy 'animals'. Debbie Schlussel posted a picture of Miss Logan on her blog, under the headline: 'Islam Fan Lara Logan Gets a Taste of Islam', before adding 'How fitting that Lara Logan was “liberated” by Muslims in Liberation Square while she was gushing over the other part of the “liberation".' It comes as an American academic, Nir Rosen, yesterday resigned from his post at New York University after calling Miss Logan...

New York University’s Center on Law and Security allowed one of its fellows, Nir Rosen, to resign after he tweeted vile things about CBS war correspondent Lara Logan, who sustained a brutal sexual assault and beating in Cairo during pro-democracy celebrations. Why did the center’s executive director, Karen Greenberg, allow him to resign rather than to use the opportunity to take a tougher stand? Here's what she told me: “Nir has always been a really good supporter of the center and I think he realized he had overstepped his bounds....” ...Logan was with a CBS crew in Tahrir Square last...

A left-wing journalist has quit his fellowship at New York University after graphically and profanely joking online about Lara Logan, the CBS News reporter brutally sexually assaulted Friday during coverage of celebrations in Cairo following Hosni Mubarak's resignation. Nir Rosen, who has contributed to Time, Atlantic Monthly, the Washington Post, New York Times Magazine and Harper's, resigned from the university's Center on Law and Security after trashing Logan publicly on Twitter. Logan, a "60 Minutes" correspondent, suffered a "brutal and sustained sexual assault by a mob of men while covering the Egyptian uprising," CBS News said. She was rescued by...

Okay, I'd like to know where all of the feminists are? Shouldn't they be standing up and demanding answers regarding the suspicious death of Ashley Turton and the gang rape of Lara Logan? If Bush had been in office, both of these stories would be all over the MSM - and the feminists would be screaming their heads off! For the record, I feel terrible for happened to both of these women. If you are going to post a comment on here that "It's Lara's fault for being in Egypt", then just get lost.

Yesterday, I wrote a blog post on Nir Rosen, a fellow at NYU’s Center for Law and Security, and his outlandish comments he made of the sexual assault of CBS correspondent Lara Logan on Twitter- which I posted on Big Government as well. Jim Geraghty from National Review and Steve Nelson at the Daily Caller did the same. This statement was just received from NYU: From Karen J. Greenberg, Executive Director, Center on Law and Security Nir Rosen is always provocative, but he crossed the line yesterday with his comments about Lara Logan. I am deeply distressed by what he...

Be careful what you say, especially in the heat of the moment, on Twitter. As you may recall, immediately following the shootings in Tucson last month, some liberals were quick to blame Sarah Palin for the tragedy. Now, a liberal journalist is taking heat for offensive Tweets he sent immediately following news of the brutal sexual assault suffered by CBS reporter Lara Logan in Egypt. As the news was breaking, Nir Rosen, a journalist and NYU fellow, Tweeted several disturbing remarks, including: "Jesus Christ, at a moment when she is going to become a martyr and glorified we should at...
