A bomb scare forced hundreds to flee two terminals at Kennedy Airport yesterday after authorities mistakenly left a phony training bomb lying around, a source familiar with the incident said. At about 11 a.m., Transportation Security Administration officers noticed a suspicious package in their confiscated-items bin past the checkpoint for Americans Airlines' Terminals 8 and 9, officials said. NEW YORK (Reuters) - Two Delta Airlines flights received hijacking threats on Friday, but both landed in New York without incident, federal authorities said. Delta Flight 119 from Paris and Delta Flight 81 from Amsterdam were both bound for John F. Kennedy International Airport, said spokesmen for the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security. NEW YORK A cargo plane carrying 150,000 cartons of illegal cigarettes was detained at John F. Kennedy International Airport, authorities said. Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms seized the cigarettes Tuesday morning as part of a nationwide effort to halt sales of contraband tobacco. Buyers of illegal cigarettes usually hope to avoid city, state and federal tobacco taxes, the ATF said. The cargo airline, which was not identified, was cooperating with the government and no charges were expected to be filed.

A plane has landed safely at Stansted Airport in a major security alert. An unspecified number of RAF planes were scrambled after Olympic airline flight OA411 from Athens to New York asked to be diverted to Stansted. Public Safety Officials and the Port Authority have confirmed to NBC News that a possible "explosive device" has been detected in an x-ray machine and an evacuation has been ordered for the protection of the area. Rupert Cameron, 33, was pronounced dead when North American Airlines Flight 92 from Georgetown arrived at John F.
