A jet bound for New York made an emergency landing at Stansted airport yesterday after repeated warnings that a bomb was on board.
The pilot of the Olympic Airways flight, carrying 301 passengers and crew from Athens, diverted after a Greek newspaper received three telephone calls saying the plane would be destroyed in revenge for the invasion of Iraq. Two RAF Tornados were scrambled from Coningsby, Lincs, on a "detect, defer or destroy" mission and the Airbus 340 landed at 3.30pm.
Once the passengers and crew had left flight 411, Army bomb disposal experts began a search expected to last well into last night.

this happened almost 12 hours ago, and i think its the 3rd or 4th thread, no bomb found. the threat was a call in to a newspaper.
He said the Tornados would have been armed. "It is not the first time that has happened with the RAF. If there was any credible threat from that flight or any indication that it was heading for central London, it would have been removed from the skies."
