Hunter Biden once admonished a Mexican business magnate for ignoring him after he set up multiple meetings with Joe Biden during his vice presidency. Hunter Biden emailed Miguel Aleman Magnani, grandson of a former Mexican president and former CEO of Interjet, in February 2016 expressing his displeasure at Magnani for ignoring him. The pair dined together in Mexico shortly thereafter and Hunter Biden berated Magnani, apparently causing the Mexican businessman to leave the restaurant through the bathroom, The Washington Post reported. Colonel Jeff Cooper, the founder of Gunsite and author of To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth, borrowed from JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings to depict soldiers of dictatorships as orcs, communist-occupied East Germany as Mordor, and violent criminals as goblins. "When three goblins broke into his house with knives, he produced his regimental sabre and gave battle." See also: "It seems that the concealed carry policy now in effect in 30 states is unfair to goblins. They cannot tell who is armed and who is not, and when their intended victim shoots back it hurts their feelings...

The United States Marines have a saying: "Every Marine a rifleman." That being said, some of them are pretty handy with a pistol, too. Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper literally wrote the book on modern handguns in combat. In fact, you're probably already acquainted with a number of concepts he introduced to the world of pistols, even though you might not know his name. Some of them are so common sense and simple that it's hard to believe anyone had to invent them. This was the genius of Jeff Cooper. It's impossible to tell the story of Jeff Cooper without talking...

Newly discovered emails show that Hunter Biden and an associate discussed plans to include then-Vice President Joe Biden in future business plans. The bombshell emails lend credence to those who say Joe Biden was part of a pay-for-play scheme. “In order to develop this as a platform for both JRBs I think it is imperative we (the three of us) have full control come 2016 when JRB1 comes on board,” Hunter Biden wrote to Jeff Cooper back in 2014. "JRB" is referring to Joseph Robinette Biden, the current president. “I think we can pull this off,” Cooper replied.

“If violent crime is to be curved, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the police, and he fears neither judge nor jury. Therefore what he must be taught to fear is his victim.” For those of you that don’t know, Lt Col Jeff Cooper was a US Marine best known for developing “modern” handgun shooting techniques and for his knowledge of small arms. And I think that this quote by Lt Col Jeff Cooper on curbing violent crime shows exactly why he was such a large cultural force in the firearms...

The Godfather of Gun Training I have never taken a class at the Gunsite Academy and I don't claim to know Jeff Cooper. I do know that he saved my life, and if you carry a gun for a living, at some point he is going to save yours too. In order to digest this sweeping statement you have to understand how things were before Lieutenant Colonel Jeff Cooper, USMC (retired/deceased), developed the "modern techniques" of small arms training. I'M A HISTORY BUFF with a near-encyclopedic knowledge of the Vietnam War. I’ve studied thousands of photographs from that conflict; my...

I have never met Jeff Cooper. I have never taken a class at the Gunsite Academy and I don’t claim to know much about the man. I do know that he saved my life, and if you carry a gun for a living, at some point he is going to save yours too. Jeff Cooper taught us how to think. I spent eight years in Afghanistan, all of it outside the wire embedded in various Afghan communities. During that time I was given the opportunity to design reconstruction projects in the contested provinces of Nangarhar, Kunar, Nimroz and the Hellmand....

Keith Bedford for The New York Times From left, Lea Sevcik, Sandy Cobden and Julia Cohen in a meeting of the Women's Shooting Sports League at the Westside Rifle and Pistol Range in Chelsea. Begun last year, the league has grown to a core of 15 to 20 members, its founder says. In New York City, it is a rule of thumb among the legal community that the First Amendment comes first, and the Second Amendment comes last. New York is not a gun town. With some of the toughest gun laws in the country, it can take upward...

The second rule, of course, is "NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY." The accompanying text explains that this rule applies to the (inadvertent) covering of one's own body or extremities. Then, the passage cites, as an example, reholstering a pistol with both hands. I can understand why this practice is undesirable in terms of limiting the ability to use a free hand for some other purpose. But I'm unclear about how reholstering with two hands is related to covering one's own body. Thanks.
